LMFAO omg thats funny shit fianlly more then one person agrees on how shittie gabriel and dresden are..... haha ahh if only these people could look and relise that any vsti would do... heres some advice search for freeware vstis they all should be able to make the sound your looking for in about 2minutes depending on the time it takes for your comp to load the vsti in the host.

I read that they use the ES1 and Mercury.

Posted by DJ-Igloo on Oct-07-2004 22:59:

hbahah this is great !

Posted by Vizay on Oct-08-2004 02:33:

from what I've heard they only use es1 and pure audio in their tracks so go get yourself a descent microphone + preamp and some instruments

Posted by RiCo on Oct-08-2004 03:57:

That's so wrong, guys.

Last time I checked, they used an Apple Mac G5 and Logic 6. They may not be the greatest of the bunch, but at least As The Rush Comes was enjoyable.

Posted by CrackedLcd on Oct-08-2004 05:03:

I've read in various interviews that they don't use many hardware synths, but losts of plugins. Also, I hear they record the plugins as audio and use it in logic. Furthermore, I've read that they use tons of samples for their perc. Why not just send them an e-mail or somethng and ask them. They might be cool and tell u something.

come on dave, i know you're here .. tell us something about your setup

Posted by Limit on Oct-08-2004 20:32:

one thing to remeber though would be that ...um...they are making shit loads of cash and YOuR not! It doesn't really matter what you use, its just how you apply it.

Posted by CrackedLcd on Oct-08-2004 22:48:

exacctly. I've found from various hardware and software. I've stumbled apon various sig sounds by big names. I'm not sure if they use the same synths, but if you figure out how to make a cool sound with whatever you have, you should use it.

"making shit loads of cash"

Hmm I think the income potential of Djs is highly exaggerated and even worse very unpredictable. I have no doubt that those in the "Top 10" enjoy the fruits of their labor. I cant say the same for performers who arent "ranked" as high.

Ultimately it is a precarious profession; one cannot predict the long-term stability of the job. You boast that they may have lots of cash but just look at how hard and how illusory that goal can be. Say they enjoy a six figure income, but what did it take to get there? While this is certainly admirable, one can enter so many other fields and with due diligence make equivalent amounts of "cash".

The proper medical residency, investment banking position, etc., will guarantee high income for years to come and most importantly the occupation is stable

You're a fucking joke. All you do is come on here, act like a knob, and make an ass of yourself by saying retarded things. You also try to criticise people, you're in no position to do so. A lot of people like gabriel and dresden, just because you don't doesnt mean they are shit... you are the epitome of ignorance

Grow up plz

WTF???

what is really wrong with Gabriel & Dresden..

I really enjoy their work.. they make cool trance and progressive tracks and remixes.. I dont understand the anti-hype at all... I mean... As The Rush Comes was a really fresh and innovative track..

hmm.. I smell cheese in this topic

Posted by RiCo on Oct-11-2004 17:59:

I have the As The Rush Comes single; love it, especially their version and AVB's version.

you dont have to use hardware because its bigger and more expensive than software. vst is taking over. also, recording plugins as audio, (bouncing each channel to audio) which is hardly rare, its a very good technique indeed and alot of people do it so that they can get perfect edits! Also, using percussion samples, so what? bach and beathoven didnt make every violin and trombone did they? lol. at the end of the day, if you end up with a good tune, then so what it doesnt matter how u got it.

To all you guys who are ripping G&D and making out that you could do better:

As the rush comes is GORGEOUS, and unless your one of these people who is so narrow minded that your ashamed to admit it because it did well and could be considered cheese by some, then u REALLY arent the right kinda person to be mixing with this industry. why post all this crap about g&d, they are doing well, (better than you lot) they are making people happy with their music, they are probably more talented than all or most of you, so fuckin hell give them a break and shut up!

To the rest of you guys who agree with me, fair play its nice to see that some of you are a bit more open minded. This thread has really pissed me off we dont need ppl like u posting crap like that. if u dont like them keep it to your self, jeez

Posted by Vizay on Oct-12-2004 10:39:

couldn't agree more with mike here.
it's almost embarassing how jealous some people are of Gabriel & dresdens success.

it's pretty funny, as soon as a track goes well and sells a lot it's considered cheese by the "eliteish" people in the scene.
I say who fucking cares about how much money and success a track get's, if it's good it's good!

[edit]

ohh and another funny thing about ATRC, almost everfone theese days tend to bash this song, call it cheese and god know's what else people think about it. BUT when you drop it at a club/party the SAME people goes nuts and crazy over it beeing dropped
