What is Life to you? What is your perception on Life, and everything?
Ok...Im in serious need of help. I need something to put faith in. Not a god. Mabye myself. But there has to be a reason for things. There has to be a reason why I stay up each night trying to meditate or do anything to help me reach a higher state of conciousness so mabye I can attempt to identify what is driving all of us. Are we driving by bliss? Are we here just to satisfy our need to feel happy or whatever? We must have some kind of connection with the universe. We cannot be hear just because. There is no just because when we live in such a massive exsistence. If there was simply no reason, everything would be nothing. In life there is always chaos, or there is nothing. Everything would simply not be. What is there when there is nothing? I've been told that we are basicly stardust, that we are all just part of the universe and evolution. So if the universe just started some time ago, will it just end also? Are the some kind of dimensions? I mean when we die, the universe dies with us in a way, because basicly, the universe revolves around us when we are alive. Is it simply another dimension when we die. What are the dimensions? Is that possible? What is nothing? When we die, do we simply end just like we started? In an instant? Do we just end...or is there some kind of afterlife, something to continue our soul's story, after we pass? I dont know if I want to believe all this scientific gamble, about the string theory, the plasma theory, the big bang theory, etc.
I have yet to find a puzzle even half finished. There are soo many questions and not enough theorys to support them all. I need to find a theory were alot of the pieces fit. Im sorry for all this, im pretty confused right now. Cabin Fever mabye? Or am I started to discover something? All I know is, I need some kind of answers...
I have been reading up tons upon different perspectives on how it all works.
The Power Of Myth: by Joseph Campbell
An Open Life: by Joseph Campbell
Many Mansions - The Edgar Cayce Story On Reincarnation: by Gina Cerminara
The Power Of Compassion: by The Dalai Lama
Black Elk Speaks: as told to John G. Neihardt
I have been doing reading on just life. Please discuss if can.
PS. Its a little late...but just read the title if you dont want to read

I think this is a major reason that people turn to a religion later in life. They are just too wearied about as many questions as you have, it's much easier to just say with confidence "God will take care of me". Whe needs answers when you're just a pathetic human puppet with a deity's hand right up your ass, anyways?
There can be no universal truth - truth defeats itself by subjective amorphousness, thereby relating only to the object individual's perception. You make your own answers, damnit!.
What is there to life? I have trouble with this one...but here's a theory...Don't worry about it.
Those who have truly woken up from the dream life encompasses on our base consciousness will be in a constant state of wonder about our world. I believe that death is merely an infinite reflection devoid of consciousness upon the life you lived. This is just one of my musings. Please don't take it as your fact or my lie... for it is solely yours now because you have subjected it to your essence. Get it?
There are so many questions i have too.
May be we would like to think there is a purpose to our lives because we are intelligent beings, but may be existence is the pure meaning of our lives. Most of us seek a deeper meaning for life. I know i have but have not yet found one.
String theory is a neat theory and pretty interesting with respect to dimensional comprehension, but like all theories is still just a theory.
There are so many undiscovered and uncomprehenable things that happen with our minds. Ive always wondering how our information is stored. I mean, its not quantitative and no one really knows.
People still dont understand how human healing works, or how much of the paranormal phenomena occur.
I think everyone has their own answer to life, especially what they beleive in and what they beleive right and wrong to be. But most of us beleive that there should be ONE definitive answer to all life and its existence. Some people turn to religion, some to science, some neither.
Ancient Chinese Secret:
There are no stressful things in the world. Just people thinking stressful thoughts.
It isnt true, but people need to fucking wake up and realize what they can and cannot do at the moment about things.
Its 8 am saturday. I realize im over drawn. Banks are closed Sunday. Itll open monday.
Some people tweek out all day about they need to pay that overdraft.
Or tickets, waiting for court dates, figuring out schedules...Things will happen regardless of how much youve thought about it. So save yourself some time.
Everyone always feels like there is something missing in their lives. Something that they need to do, or someone they need to meet...but it isnt that clear, they just feel something missing. Its like you remember being a child, but youve forgotten what childhood felt like. You want magic back in your life.
Make it. There are enough amazing things in this world to feel awed by, go climb a mountain, talk to a beautiful woman, dance with someone, learn pottery. Things that are cheap and easy and fun to do.
I have no sympathy for people who wait for happiness to come to the 9-5, taking bullshit from their managers, lives theyve allowed themselves to fall into.
Take responsibility!
take the blue pill or take red pill?

...now here's the Meaning of Life. (gets envelope) Thank you Brigitte. Well, it's nothing special. Try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations.
Sounds about right to me.
God pisses down the back of your neck everyday, but he only drowns you once...

The trick is to learn to live without faith. It's a wondrous, fanciful, fun-filled existence! I feel like flying high in the sky! I could leap tall buildings in a single bound! HOORAY! HOOOOORAAAAAAY!
Kill me.
you can sit there stressing yourself out constantly about what you're supposed to accomplish in life and worrying about fate or a grand scheme of things, or you can just realize that the entire human race is a contradiction of itself and attempting to follow any paper trail ratifying or defining the purpose of our existence will leave you in a permanent vegitative state or travelling into the desert high on LSD trying to find yourself. Just try to live life man...find the things and people that mean the most to you and attempt to surround yourself with them, enjoy the activities you do and if you arent right now, try to find some that you will.
A large problem with western society is its perception on death, and you seemed preoccupied with questions involving death. Too often a great deal of our efforts go into avoiding death, we make extraordinary efforts to delay it, and often consider it's intrusion a tragic and heartrending experience. Try to think of it like i do:
death gives meaning to our lives, it gives importance and value to time, and if we had too much time, the time we spend alive would eventually just become meaningless to us.
Hope anything I've said helps you out at all man, take 'er ez.

twisted, what things make you happy?
I'm sorry to say this but life means nothing. Why should it? God was created just to give people hope that there is somewhere and something better than this life. There isn't. Until God comes down and sits on my face I will continue to believe this.
Life is a bitch and then you die
still tryin' to get a peace of the apple pie
every game ain't the same, coz the game still remains
don't it seem kinda strange, ain't a damn thing change
if you don't work then you don't eat
and only down-ass niggas can ride with me
hop-hop-hop your five quickly down the block
stay sucka-free and keep the busters off your jock
you gotta have hart son, if you wanna go,
watch this sweet chariot swing low
aint nobody cryin` aint nobody dyin
aint nobody worried, everybody s tryin
nothin' from nothin' leaves nothin'
if you wanna have something, you better start frontin'
what ya gonna do when the 5 roll by
you better be ready, so you can ride
Come along and ride on a fantasic voyage
slide slide slippity-slide
Times like this ya gotta post Jackson's old sig...

you'll figure it out when you die, ironically enough.
just have faith in yourself and the people you love if you're not looking for a "God", and be a good person. you'll stress yourself out with all these unanswerable questions
lots of athiests on TA...
i think there is more intelligence in the universe than just humans...
and if there is a God, and he tried to tell us the ways of the universe, it would be like people trying to explain economics to monkeys...
we humans will never know the truths of the universe...
dogs will never be able to do your taxes
^^^^^^^ i agree completely. i'm not atheist for the record...but i'm not a diehard religious freak either.

perhaps the best position to take up and certainly one of the most unbiased is agnosticism. while not professing true atheism, one doubts the existence of the perceptions other people and organized religeons have on god or whatever higher being they worship. rather than supporting or belonging to a specific organized religeon, the study of theology can be an eye opener and let you see the full spectrum of things and the myriad of different beliefs.
i would rather search for god instead of worshipping something i have no evidence of or know next to nothing about...and this does not mean i have no faith, i believe there is a "god" but as far as who/what it is and what beliefs they have..havnt the slightest.
Don't try to mix it with religion. It's bound to fail at this early stage of life. All you're left with is looking for different sources for some good opinions. Reading those books will widen your horizons. More knowledge will be obtained. However, I doubt Black Elk Speaks will help you. But if you like the beliefs of the early natives, as told by a someone that is not entirely native, then that's your thing.
Don't be so eager to find answers to questions that maybe were meant to be unanswered. You will eliminate a lot of pressure. The goal is to live with the right amount of pressure. Don't try to carry a big rock with you because it won't let you see the path ahead. You need to see where you're going.
Remember this: From the day we are born we start to die. It's a pessimistic way of looking at it but it's also realistic. We live, fuck a few people(as it is the nature of any human being), and finally die. Looking for answers will only lead you to fucking yourself, meantally that is.
