should this be happening?

when it is completely quiet and i have my headphones on, i can hear some radio show inside my headphones. something must be picking it up, but what could do that?

Posted by Fundamental on Oct-12-2004 23:36:

Yeah, it should be happening. Each pair of headphones is equipped with a built in radio so you don't get bored when the music stops.

Can't say this has ever happened to me although it isn't surprising. Just get a better pair of headphones if it is bothering you that much...

Posted by D-res on Oct-12-2004 23:38:

its not really bothering me, im just confused as to why it would happen. plus i have good headphones so im not worried about that.

Its the aliens, wrap tinfoil around your head and grab a pitchfork.

it happens to me on my pc speakers...when the volume is uber low I can hear the local jazz channel...i forget why this happens but it has something to do with the way they broadcast their signal. find out what station it is ... and then threaten to bomb them.

LOL.... mines a religious channel. i can hear them talking about God and sharing Jesus' love or something.....

God is sending you a message

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

You just live close to a radio station. Same thing happened with my buddy in Kenosha WI. Lived a mile from 95.1 and when everything was on quiet, that station could still be picked up.

When my speakers are low, my beer starts saying, "Drink Me!"

Lol!

I had the same problem with my computer speakers in college. They'd always pick up country music, and it sometimes wasn't quiet either. If you can rearrange the cords sometimes you can keep them away from the place they're picking up the signals which can either make it a little less noticeable actually fix it. Other than that there's not a whole lot you can do AFAIK.

This is a sign that you are the only sane person in your house. Your family members are insane and planning to get you. You must get them first. Bash their crazy skulls in with a hammer.

Posted by Halcyon+On+On on Oct-13-2004 01:06:

Perhaps it's just some interference from the metal plate you got in your head from 'Nam?

But seriously...

It's subliminal messages in your music. Sasha is trying to convert all his listeners to Christianity - ever wonder why Prog fans are so defensive and preachy?

BRING ON TEH FLAMES!

I don't have a metal plate in my head, but the progs are friggin addictive. I can listen to them nonstop for hours. Must be something subliminal...

On my parents' antenna TV, channel 6 picks up NPR.

Make sure your wires are either sheilded or not all wrapped in giant coils. Inductance+radio waves=mild signal.
If theres more than one wire try twisting them that might also work.

ghost signals are fucked up sometimes, ive had them with headphones, telephones, and tvs, sometimes they're cracked out..

Posted by Transporter on Oct-13-2004 04:55:

It's the little people inside your computer talking to you .. or maybe your sound card is a cheapo and picking up interference signals which is not hard to do.. some people hear radio stations in their mouth when they wear braces. On second thought you sure it's not the dead contacting you ... something like Electronic Voice Phenomena ???

btw listen to some recordings on that site. i don't know how real they are but if it's true then AAAARGGHHH!!!!!!!

dude. i believe you dude. i had a similar experience.

one time, i turned off my radio (has an antenna) and had the volume pretty high. then all of a sudden i hear these female groaning noises through the speakers. i get freaked out and put my ears closer to the speakers and turn it up louder. well, the sounds were louder, and it sounded like a chick was getting banged pretty hard. i recognized the tones to be my neighbor. some strange reason i was picking up the sounds inside her room. freaky huh?

somehow, radio waves clash together, and create like a 2-way constant radio connection.

One time i had these awesome walkie talkies that i got on my 9th birthday. Anyways i gave one to me "best friend" and he took it to his house and we were going to see if they would work that far away. Anyways i went outside to try it out, and i was standing right under the telephone wires. I picked up a phone convo loud and clear, but i didnt know that it was that at the time. So i go like "omg mom come here" and shes comes out just as what i found out was the old lady across the street drops 2 f bombs and an Nbomb. She never accepted anything that old lady cooked after that...not that it was ever edible.

no it is not possible for this to happen. With the submission of the 2.03.87u consolidated resistor statements, tranmission signals earned its first radio comparison audit opinion on all its pig balls standards. This achievement caps an extensive effort by the Radio Department components to produce timely, reliable, and auditable wave transmission reports & reistrict them locally around generic soundcard fart dust. The toaster was left on. Importantly, several components overcame limitations in their radio systems or operations in order to earn resistor pig balls standards. I had sex with a seal. These accomplishments are evidence of the Departments ongoing dedication to isolate wave forms. Continuing to improve the isolation management performance, including our core resistor systems and one that we will pursue aggressively & meaningly to isolate the problem & kill all those involved.
