FLIGHT 643 is garbage
I was looking through a thread about best tunes of the year and I kept seeing the stinking pile of crud that is DJ Tiesto - Flight 643 coming up.
That is absolutely ridiculous. That record is bullshit and you all know it. You all seem to think it's prog trance but it isn't because it doesn't go anywhere. It never even fucking changes, it's about as far from prog trance as you can possibly get. You guys probably don't even know what the word progressive means. Just because it doesn't sound like uplifting trance doesn't mean it's progressive for christs skae.
I've come to the conclusion you've all brainwashed yourselfs into liking this record because it's by Tiesto. If this was stuck at the back of an ATB album you'd all be pissing yourselfs laughing at it but just because DJ Tiesto made it you've all decided that it's good. For one thing if you truly love trance you wouldn't care who produces az track you like. If a top producer makes a piece of poop like this then you should be REALLY DISSAPOINTED. You shouldn't think 'oh no, I have to be like everybody else and love everything tiesto does'. Pulsedriver makes better quality music than this. The thing is garbage and you people are just making your self like because it has the word Tiesto on it. If a packet of crisps has the name of a kiddie cartoon all the kids who like it will go out and buy it. That's just what you're being like over this. Grow up and recognise good music. Don't come up with any bullshit that it sounds great in a club because quite simply it doesn't sound any different if you're playing it at the top of a hill.

You can say it's progressive trance exactly because it doesn't go anywhere and it took the whole scene one step forward, from where I see it.
Anyways, this was discussed a while back (whats so great about flight 643?) and there was even a poll (Flight 643 Genre Classification) about it.

what a load of bull! i couldnt care less who produced it, i like it, i heard it at a club which in the way u talk u must have not and at is awsome, to be honest i hated it at first, i also think it is (was) garabage, but it growns on you, and then u love, its great at 2165216216 volume with 20 speakers and 300 people with green lasers
I think it is great to dance to, and challenging to mix. I would not define it as anything, but if I had to I would say it is a progressive trance, hard house, techno hybrid. The song is full of energy, and if this song was by ATB I think it would only help him regain his footing in the trance industry.
I am definitely not gonna flame anyone over this, but i do have to say flight 643 is not that good, in fact its just about the only tiesto song ill turn off if it comes on, its an okay filler song, but not at all special. as for it taking the genre forward? i dont know if i beileve that. everyone knows the leaders in prog house are the sashas and diggers of the world, definitely not tiesto. tiesto plays songs that oakie played a year ago. im not saying this is necessarily bad, usually they are awesome songs and thats why they still rock (or trance?!) but sometimes it seems people blindly follow dislikes/likes(people, not songs) in this scene and never become open-minded enough to just ignore the dj/producer and actually listen to what the music is. obviously every1 is given their own opinion, but i say if its good, listen dont hate...haha late/

Well.. first of all.. calm down. 
You might be right that Flight 643 is a bit monotone, but that's usual for progressive tracks. Tiesto said that this track is supposed to be something more progressive than pure trance.
And talking about kiddie trance, Pulsedriver is one of the most commercial dude around here. When I heard Urban Train the first time, I didn't even know that it was from Tiesto, same with Legacy from Push. It isn't the name that counts, I don't like In My Memory for example. I don't care a lot who's producing the music, as long as it sounds good. If Pulsedriver would do such a quality track I wouldn't mind at all, if I'd like it, even better! I personally think Flight 643 is good because it's special. Surely, it's no masterpiece (like imo Urban Train!), but it's way different from other tracks. I can't stand Komodo from Picotto neither, but I love Baguette or Imperiale. Same as Essential DJ Team - We Hate To Rock. It isn't a great track, but it's special. And that counts a lot because the Trance scene is huge and 1000 tracks that sound the same aren't that exciting.
So it's up to you if you prefer good quality tracks or / and special tracks. It's just an opinion like everybody has, no need to freak out dude

I really didn't like this track and I do agree that some people like just because it's Tiesto but I've never seen this "MC Mlee Hee" character make a positive comment and threads like this are realy unnessasary.
I hate to have to be the one to break this to everyone, but 643 is an outstanding tune. Its just different from wot u usually hear and that breakdown is massive!
It's not the greatest record of the year but it is far from Garbage...I give Tiesto props for trying something different from the usual uplifting stuff that Tiesto produces. I wouldn't call it progressive though, it's more like energy trance but I like the fact that the record moves forward with breaks instead of reaching a climax like normal records. Actually I like the Kosheen vs Tiesto - Hide on Flight 643 more then the original Flight 643. The vocals give the record more character and a better record to dance to.
finnally...Flight 642 is not the best record Tiesto has produced but It's not the worst I've heard either...6/10 for being experimental !!!
The track is cheese. It is the worst song Tiesto ever made. You know it's total garbage, when it is found on all these lame underground progressive house CD's. It belongs in the toilet.
This track is only good if someone mixes it.. pvd for example when he mixed it wit happiness..ooo sweet. Yes i know most poeple will like a track because a popular dj made it, i do that too sometimes. As for pulsedriver, he's cool dont care if he's commercial, acually when i downloaded an album i didnt know he was commercial i just thought his tracks were cool. i dont care ...EVERYONE I LISTEN TO PULSEDRIVER!!! SO WHAT!!!!! but MC Mlee Hee, this thread wasnt necessary, if you dont like it then keep it to yourself, acually its threads like these that makes people not like a track or dj. It's also if the track starts being played on the radio then everyone here would hate it because they dont want to be liking a song that someone who doesnt know real good trance is listening to.

it's nice to hear on a very loud volume. never heard a track like it before, tiesto was starting something here. i didnt like it before but when i heard it live i fell in love. when u hear it in ur car try to horn with it. pretty cool.
flight 643 is unique and energetic. tiesto pumps this shit hard. this shit goes perfectly well with Katana's Fancy Fair and kosheen's Hide U, both are this year's top tracks

Well, I'd have to say that more and more I hear this song, the more I like it!
First time I heard it in a club, I just flipped, cuz it was so energetic... and I had no clue who made it, and after a few weeks of searching for that song, when I realized it was Tiesto who made it, I just had to give the guy the props! It didn't matter to me who made it, and it still doesn't... what matters is that I like the tune, and when you hear it on a 40,000W speakers in a club among 4000 people, it sounds fucken NUTS!
But, that is my opinion again, and I won't judge other people's music tastes...
Flight 64.. uhh 3? that's the name?? well anyways I dont like it, gives me head ache.
a) Don't tell people what they think or how they think. Thats just being plain out ignorant.
b) This track is very different, something ORIGINAL, not to mention is has some kick ass remixes, the Orkidea remix is fast and hyper, Oliver Klein throws in a nice tribal rhythm and Tiesto's own mix roxx.
c) When I firstheard this track I HATED IT! Thought it was garbage...but it grows on you...has the nicest breakdown and when it hits it is 100% energy.
Your entitled to your opinion but so is everyone else. Don't tell me I like this song because Tiesto produced it, Tiesto doesn't always produce gold. Think before you post something ignorant.
A big boo to all you wanks that don't like this track. Personally I think its a spectacular change from the uplifting, female vocal, happy stuff thats been taking the trance arena lately. No, its not something you'd use to hook someone onto trance with and no you're not gonna splurge in your pants at the sound of it. But it is an extremely intelligent tune that puts a great new flavor into trance. You don't hear shit like this all the time, it's extremely unique. It blew me away when Tiesto spun it in Toronto last weekend. In fact, aside from Souvenire and Rapture, Kosheen vs Tiesto was my favorite track of the evening. I won't say its the best song out right now but I'd definately put it in my top 10. You've got to give Tiesto credit for being an amazing and intelligent producer as well as a spectacular DJ. Anyone who thinks otherwise needs to figure out whether or not they're into the right genre.

I think 643 is a pretty solid track.... why?.. well because its not just ur typical cookie cutter trance tune. DJ Tiesto might be huge and commercial now.. but he sure isnt making commercial sounding tracks... u have to give him credit because he's been creating a lot of unique sounding tracks whick are just refreshing to hear...
So please dont flame someone who is doing something different and is bringing a new sound... its a change and change is good sometimes.

agree with timewarp, everybody has their own tastes...sum ppl. mite indeed say that they like it only because its by tiesto, but im sure there are others who genuinely like it as well as has already been stated b4 in this thread
i for one didn't like it at all, i deleted after hearing it the first time...maybe if pvd came up with a remix or sumthing i mite d/l it again...
