Adios All, Moving house, wont be back until 10th November at earliest :(

Hi everyone,

I am moving house this Thursday to Hertford and my internet with NTL will be disconnected on Wednesday, so I wanted to say I wont be around until the 10th/11th November at the earliest, I am getting BT Phone Line installed and then getting ADSL with Fast 24 provider, I am also doing away with NTL TV and getting Sky Digital back, the 5-10 working days I'll have to wait for my internet to come back will be worth it, no more massive issues with NTL (both Internet & TV) to worry about anymore and I'll have 2mbit ADSL with a constant upstream of 30 KB/sec w00t! not that shoddy 6KB/sec I keep getting with NTL (my area is oversubscribed by 3 times the limit!!)

Wish me luck with moving over 2800 vinyls, I dont think I am gonna let the removal men ANYWHERE NEAR my babies :-)

see pics below, you'll see what a pain in the arse it'll be all the equipment as well, my PC too, AAAAAARGH!!!!

If you pay attention to the MD forum, you know that Sim is one of the few readable posters who doesnt just post nonsense or OMG OMG threads. He also devotes a large amount of his time to helping keeping Discogs functioning smoothly, and is a great guy. The TA forums, particulalrly MD, will be a bit more chaotic without this voice of reason around. We are all friends here, and Im interested in far more about the lives of others besides their musical tastes and their new records. Like I said already, have a good move Sim...well keep your seat warm till you get back.

i guess u could say its similar to when say....a janitor takes a vacation from his job and then they have to get replacements that just aint as competent as him...right? right?

Nope, but if you are friends with the janitor, you hope hell let you know hell be gone for a few days so you dont start to think something terrible has happened. Besides, friendship means you want to know whats going on in the lives of the people involved. No one made you read this thread or respond. The title is pretty self-explanatory, and if you dont care, then you shouldnt have wasted 2 minutes reading and responding, much less trying to make a smart-ass point when youre wrong.

fair enough. But hes still a pretty active member in the forums, and I dont think a post informing the community of his situation is out of order. Again, its just as easy for you to skip over it/ignore it entirely

well point being i DIDNT use the term wrong...im being politically correct in not doing so

and my point being that if he cherishes online "friends" soooooo friggin much, i feel sorry for him not really having a real life

Those who know me well enough know I've been trying to move for 2 years! so I am relieve it's finally going through but annoyed I wont have the internet for a few days, get so many damn emails.

again, who has the right to say I have/dont have a real life, I think you'll find I do, I have a very active social life, there are lots of people who I stay in touch with that I've known for 4/5 years through here and elsewhere, I dont spend all my time sat at the PC, I have a day job that pays very well and I socialise all the time, though the closer it gets to Xmas the busier my job gets so less socialising.

Dont see how people have the right to judge whether I have a life or not, I most certainly do have one
