Exclamation A Message From Dave Piazza

This is a sad day in American politics. But what endows me with greater grief is the large amounts of stupidity that exists in Southern and Rural America.

I am ashamed to be apart of this country. This is truly a dark day for democracy and common sense.

As a result of the inanity of Americans I feel no need to debate or discuss issues of economics, legality, or foreign relations in this forum. Until a cultural and educational transformation occur in Southern and Rural America my discussions in the Political Forum on www.tranceaddicts.com are futile.

It was actually quite a good day for our democracy, as voters turned out in higher numbers than ever before to choose who will lead their country. However, democracy as we know it now is not something we should get too comfortable with.

Dave,
Just make sure that your strategy over the next 4 years is to make the North cessede from the South rather than bothering with transforming the South both culturally and educationally
And stop referring to yourself in the third person you elitist snob

Yea it'll be messed up for the people who wanted change, not for the people who didn't want change, but what can really be done. Bush won.

Personally, the last four year's of the presidency seemed to have gone alot slower than previous one's that I've been through. I don't know why, but that's the way it's been.

A big reason Democrat's feel the way they did last election, is they felt like they were robbed, but what can be said now?

Honestly it's fucked up, because like other's, I wanted change, but I don't know man. I think it's a big part due to September 11 and etc. Hell, it could be another reason.

Anyway, like I said previously. This has been a close close close election down to the wire.. So Bush won, but hopefully he'll be humble about it and take some of the big issue's that have devided the country the way it is, understanding more now than ever. Also I hope he doesn't let his personal feeling's / beliefs get into the way that 50% of other American's feel about certain thing's.

What is so amazing is that people would vote against their economic interest in order to hear political rhetoric about moral values. Mr.Bush's actions are nothing less than immoral.

How is fighting a war in accord with the Christian faith? How is leaving the poor and elderly behind in America in accord with Christ? It isnt. Not only are Americans misinformed about economic issues but they are also misinformed about their own religion. It is truely amazing how these stupid people make decisions.

By the way, I need to get back to reading my bible. I need to prepare for the next election

How is fighting a war NOT in accord with the Christian faith? How many people have been killed in the name of Christ now?

Face it. Some people are sheep. They will blindly follow anybody in any direction solely based on their faith, its a shame but its the truth.

Apparently moral values is all you need to be president, your performance in office is completely irrelevant

Jesus Christ was a massager of peace not war. Christ said when someone slaps your face you turn your cheek to allow them to slap your other cheek. The idea of defending yourself in battle is an inversion of all what Christ spoke of. The idea of an eye for an eye is one of Jewish tradition not Christian faith ( old testament vs.. new testament). Understanding this principle of what Christ spoke means you need to read the bible yourself, not expect Mr. Bush to tell inform you of the faith. Bush has hijacked Christianity just like Osoma hijacked the Muslim religion. Please show me how and why Christ would accept Bush's economic policy or his foreign policy.

I have read the bible and I understand the moral values that my faith encourages. This is why I believed Kerry was the best man.

How are these two things even related? Besides that, you've got even less of a chance of changing things by running away.

Oh cry me a fucking river

Oh woe is me! I cannot go on discussing politics in the Tranceaddict forums. It's just too much to take on top of this presidential election!

You misunderstood me. I am Christian AND I voted for Kerry. I was simply illustrating my point, that people are sheep, and will follow somebody in violence as long as they claim to be doing it "in the name of Christ." Look at the Inquisition.

This quote below best explains my position:

One which is far removed from rationale, and which I cannot communicate very well with. I see something I would call madness. Such people cannot be reasoned with, and I think that it is futile to try to do so.

We don't live in a freakin parable, we live in the real world.

It isn't an eye for an eye, if it was an eye for an eye we would have mercilessly killed 3,200 saudi citizens for no reason at all. Bush uses his religion to give himself strength to make decisions, he doesn't make decisions based on passages from the bible. He hasn't hijacked Christianity, just because he is openly religious doesn't mean the guy is a robot. He doesn't use religion as an excuse, he uses freedom as an excuse which is a right of any creature, religious or not.

Saying Christ wouldn't accept Bush's foreign policy is just absurd, having countries and borders separating the people of this world would also be against the writings in the bible but we aren't going to stop that tomorrow. Stop the dream world references.

Nicely put.
Too many accusations; not enough convincing...
(but then, if 'they' actually thought they had a convincing, well thought arguement, they'd do it with tact, grammer and spelling...)

It's funny how people like speedracer_mec post stuff like that.

Anyone looking from the outside in (from overseas or whatever) would see how extreamly close this election was. I know that Bush fans are happy that Bush won, but they should be extreamly humble in saying so (including Bush) knowing that and seeing that things may not always turn out that way.

If Kerry won I would be telling the democrats the same thing. Uhuh.

Read the bible sir. Jesus would not support any efforts of war. The Catholic Church denounced Mr.Bush's actions of war.

Why do I bring religion into this discussion?

Because alot of my right-wing friends seem to beleive Bush is in accord with Christianity. Polls show this issue was of prime concern for voters.

I am hoping to prove this central tenet of Bush, religious morality, to be false and not in accord with the Christian faith. Why? Because obviously alot of Southern voters do not understand their faith and voted for the wrong man.

From my understanding of Christ, Bush is not the canidate of moral leadership. He has cleverly pushed forth certian ideas he is in accord with the Faith ( Gay Marriage ) yet wisely not discuss actions he has done while in office which has gone against the Faith; war and economic policy are a few that come to my mind.

Once again the republican party does not want to enguage into a debate over real issues.

I invited people to show me how Bush's economic policy was better than Kerry's and the Bush supporters ran away becuase they couldnt debate with me on economics.

( See my thread: 2004 Ballot Cast. My vote has gone to ....

http://www2.tranceaddict.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&forumid=66&threadid=219059 )

Again,in this thread I invite people to show me how Bush's religious character is in accord with the faith. I have shown how Mr.Bush's actions, not words, are actually against the faith.

Once again people resort to lame attempt to insult people rather than talk about the issues ( sounds like a politcal campaign doesnt it ). Why? Becuase they know I am right and they are just stupid

There's a good book written by Eric Alterman on this, called "The Book on Bush: How George W. Bush (mis)leads America" which points out very thoroughly how he has developed policies that are in direct conflict with the public statements he makes about the same issues.

At least on the bright side, there's gonna be 4 more years of the twins. Very disappointed I missed them at Soundbar when they were there a month ago.
