Effexor=BAD

Effexor XR, a depression drug is very very bad.

I take it, i didnt know that just not taking it one day would put u in such hell.

I forgot to take it this morning and have spent the whole day in a panic, i cant calm down, im shaking, go from extremely hot to extremely cold.

i cant stop throwing up. i was doin some research on it online today, and its as bad as a herion withdrawl.

i advise everyone to not take this drug.

and also, is there anyone who is taking this and has gone threw this?

Dont take anti-depressants prescribed by doctors.

Often, they mean well, but even more often, they have received money or products directly from the maufacturer in exchange for preferential treatment when deciding what drug to give you. They may even receive a portion of the cost of the drug, so they will prescribe what gives them more money, not what is best for you.

Adults often tell their kids that drugs are not the way to deal with your problems, then they shovel pills down your throat. I say, find another way to deal with whats bothering you.

If you need to get yourself off of them, start cutting them up, and use smaller doses each day. This is arguably the "healthiest" way to do it...

I stopped taking effexor xr cold turkey and started hallucinating...heh... It's not as bad as heroin/opiate withdrawal, but it sucks.

Cons: The absolute worst discontinuation syndrome of an antidepressant. Effexor (venlafaxine hydrochloride) is a medication people utterly loathe to have taken. It is not uncommon for someone to change doctors during or immediately after Effexor (venlafaxine hydrochloride) discontinuation.
...
Interesting Stuff Your Doctor Probably Won't Tell You: Few, if any doctors, will discuss the possibility that Effexor (venlafaxine hydrochloride) could become a permanent part of your life, whether you like the results of Effexor (venlafaxine hydrochloride) or not. Granted that is a very rare adverse effect, but it does happen. It's hard enough to get them to discuss SSRI discontinuation syndrome., let alone get them to admit that Effexor's symptoms are the absolute worst and the longest lasting of all serotonergic drugs. The discontinuation from Paxil (paroxetine) is bad enough, it's much, much worse with Effexor (venlafaxine hydrochloride).

And yet they allow some drug companies to profit off of the naivety of the public while punishing the use and manufacture of comparatively harmless drugs such as marijuana.

Congratulations America, your drug policy is ridiculous.

jesus christ, that's scary

whats the dosage?

I am currently on Celexa 20mg/day and I have never experienced that kind of stuff, even when I've missed my dose like 3 days in a row.

not just TA... everybody.

It's really commonplace this day and age... a lot of people just take it in the morning to perk them up.

I, however, suffer from a chemical inbalance in my serotonin that causes chronic depression.

Drugs are bad. This includes a large number of prescription drugs. Seriously, people act like its wrong to drink, or do drugs just because youre having a bad go. What makes it ok if a doctor says so?

Jesus christ, attention whoring teenaged girls have always been emotional, these drugs are only fucking them up worse.

my boyfriend just started taking it on tuesday because of anxiety and depression, and he said he already feels better and i can notice a diffrence when we are in public. However, he doesn't want to eat and he gets really sleepy. I thought it was just an inital reaction to the drug getting started in his body because this has happened to me when i started taking birth control. Thats too bad, i was hoping this drug would be a really good thing for him.

1) Is not on an anti-depressant?

I took an Advil once...

I still have the bottle (w/2 refills) of Vicadin that the docs gave me 4 years ago after blowing out my knee to "ease the pain"... I just threw it in the cupboard...missed one day of work and took it like a man...a stupid man..but none the less (I should have missed 4 months...and had surgury)

...Oh...also found some anti-infection meds from after my bout with paratinitis (sp) after my ruptured appendix back in 97....

Gosh, I must have some serious street value of prescips in the meds closet...oh well.

pffft...drugs.
