Thumbs up New Order

It about time music fans begin to appreciate the vast contributions this band has made for electronic dance music. Before Paul Van Dyk and Tiesto there was New Order.

Timeless.

My favorite song; New Order - Your Silent Face

A thread to show your appreciation to this great band.

blue monday obv and true faith are my faves

if you remember back we had a thread on a uk dj who died recently and he was one who helped get new order amongst others on radio, without his input, who knows what we'd have missed

Never really followed them but thats the stand out!!

Blue Monday, Confusion and Bizarre Love Triangle are my favs.

Can't go wrong with 80's music.

I think he means the late, and great john peel.

God rest his soul!

John Peel - search his name for the 2 threads (MD/UKTA forums) for more info on him

John Peel's funeral is tomorrow - I'm going along with my uncle. Apparently thousands of people are expected to come down.

Anyway my fave New Order tracks - probably Regret and Bizarre Love Triangle

I got the original True Faith vinyl for $2.50 used a couple of years back. I love New Order. I used a Piece Process track on my latest cd that is a clear remix of Blue Monday. They have influenced EDM immensely along with Depeche Mode and Erasure.

Temptation.

5 8 6 is a wonderful track. I also like Age of Consent and Blue Monday.
I'm planning on ordering Substance in a few days

Along with New Order, check out the band Electronic. It features the lead singer of New Order. Some amazing emotional tracks there too. Confusion and Fine Time my favorites of New Order and Getting away with it by Electronic is brilliant.

one of my fav newave band of the 80s still relevant today not as consistent as depeche mode but awesome nontheless.. Bernard Sumners got that signature voice you can recognize right away... so many great songs from them but my fav song for all time gotta goto Bizzare Love Traingle followed closely by Sub-Cluture, then True Faith.. Blue Monday was great but it was their earlier sound before it got polished... Bernard Sumners was in a project with the guitarist from The Smiths called 'Electronic' in the late 80s which was fucking dope as well.. anyway one of the great pioneers of the electronic music. respects to them.

That is not necessarly a good thing. I always thought the vocals/lyrics were the weakest link of New Order.

Joy Division's a tought act to follow.

Depeche are the best

Blue Monday is a dance classic, but my favourite thing about New Order are the acid remixes by the likes of Hardfloor, Pump Panel and 808 State.

i disagree.. i think its a good thing.. if you listen to depeche mode, pet shop boys, erasure, new order or omd, all the lead singers have a recognizable voice.. meaning you dont sound like anyone else..

Blue Monday is the best selling 12" record ever, and it is my prize posession. I bought it for a couple of euros earlier this year in a junk shop
