Question... Who cares?

Posted by DJ Mikey Mike on Nov-12-2004 18:54:

How the fuck have Nu-NRG managed to get into the results table of a DJing competition. That alone sums up what a joke it all is really.

Posted by DannyO on Nov-12-2004 18:55:

More proof mags top 100 list should be called "Top 100 most popular DJs", there are some DJs in there that are wicked and should be MUCH higher, honestly, what a load of bollocks.

He is even above Josh Wink....

it's a bad year for trance. at least in terms of popularity vs. quality.
anyone notice how a lot of the good acts went down?

Yep.

I lost my interest for trance this year. There was so much shit out there that i decided to stop buying trance records.

I switched to tech-house/breaks/progressive.

Posted by Ian on Nov-12-2004 19:28:

nice to see preach in there. TBH technically a lot of those guys/girls are better than a lot of the top 50 but as said b4 it's just a popularity contest and the sooner ppl stopped treating it like a bible of what to like the better

haha me too, im realized that breaks totaly owns

hybrid deserved better...

so does anthony pappa, hyper, and im sure a lot others oh well

i still can't understand how ATB got so high on the top 100

yea it's a popularity contest but there's no way to rank DJs on their skill and ability

but one of the qualities a good DJ possesses is the ability to be able to please the crowd, which this poll does

but yea not everyone is gonna be able to get to hear all those djs so pretty much the popular ones that get around the most are the ones that pleases the greater amount of people

Laughable, really. And Benny Benassi is 18, and ATB 13.

238 Danilo Vigorito is one of the best dj's I seen this year.

Gabry fasano never even made the top 250. disgusting

bt getting into the top 100 made me laugh most they havent even done a gig for a few years

Posted by trancerulez84 on Nov-12-2004 21:10:

WTF. Did I miss them in the list, or was smith & pledger not in the top 250 DJ's in the world?

sort it out.

Would prefer to see mixmag do a top 100 dj's list and then see what happens

I couldn't agree more.

Posted by djbruuen on Nov-13-2004 03:31:

^ i second that, what business would nu-nrg have in a "DJ" competition???? they only play live! thats fuckin rediculous...its because its counted on votes, and i'm guessing over 50% of the ppl who vote in this don't vote based on dj skillz, but because they like them as producers. i actually would prefer to see mixmag construct there own intellegent poll based on thorough research of who really is the best!...some of these placements are just unexceptable. Scott Bond not in the top 100 peeved me, he had me on my feet all night, he was such a good dj. so many others to...mark oliver at 240 isn't exceptable either with some of the ppl ahead of him...he is one of the most versatile djs who has awesome skillz!even filo and peri, what business do they have? they just on the scene and make a few good songs, i heard them dj, i'm like yeh cool, but definately not wow.

oh well, i forget what philosophere it was, but when talking about democracies, he was against it, because he said "the common person is to stupid to vote"

Posted by josh rising on Nov-13-2004 03:53:

Baby Anne & Icey didnt even make the top 250...thats pathetic...DJ Rap also didnt make the top 250...what the fuck?

Posted by Krypton on Nov-13-2004 04:12:

ide say ive heard half of them, maybe a little less. too bad lange got kicked off the top 100 from last year.

Posted by Jordan Stevens on Nov-13-2004 04:12:
