Smiley DJ Transa - Enervate

It's still tunage. *listens*

Posted by Light The Fuse on Nov-16-2004 01:18:

I got that about a week ago, yeah its still choonage

Posted by Cobalt on Nov-16-2004 01:21:

Absolutely. Most of the solid anthem trance from 97-99 is.

2004 is decidedly not the year to find equal quality.

Posted by Halcyon+On+On on Nov-16-2004 01:26:

GREAT tune! Think I'll listen to it right now.

Posted by Stephenox on Nov-16-2004 02:34:

2004 trance is off in its own direction (not a bad thing for me, though). 2004 is not 1997-1999. I like 2004 tracks, but Transa - Enervate is indeed a classic. Supernova was really good too.

Posted by trance-ecj on Nov-16-2004 02:56:

ALL OF TRANSA ROCKS!!!!! ALL!!!!!

Behind The Sun is my fav.

I'm disappointed many people only know of Transa's Supernova because of the Tiesto Magik series...too bad, cus all of their songs are just as good.

Enervate is no exception

Posted by starglider on Nov-16-2004 04:13:

Astro Dawn is the best Transa track, but Enervate is good too (not to mention Supernova).

Outlander is up there. And Carla's Theme... yeah Transa were on top for a while.

Posted by CATHAIN on Nov-16-2004 04:15:

Transa - Supernova totally eclipses enervate imo

there all good tho

Posted by LazarusDJ on Nov-16-2004 07:29:

I miss Transa

I paid silly money for a copy of Behind The Sun but it was worth every penny. Thankfully I managed to "borrow" Supernova from someone who didn't appreciate it and never played it.

Posted by Disco_Gibson on Nov-16-2004 08:53:

97-00 = recognisable quality riffs
01-04 = recognisable monotenous cookie cutter sheep trance

Posted by eXos on Nov-16-2004 09:25:

I prefere Astro Dawn

Haha, I got behind the sun (hook recordings) on sale for $3 like 3 years ago.

Great tune, as well.

Dancing Dude

There's a name that brings back memories. Transa, Hook Recordings, Eve Recordings...

Posted by Stanza on Nov-16-2004 10:44:

FUCKING A!!

Transa have defined that sound of "power trance". Absolute quality producers indeed.

Favourite track is probably Transtar

Yeah Hook, Eve Records certainly bring back those golden days of trance

I bought Astro Dawn from a friend for $5. Good track, but I have a minor scratch on the record that pops and mistimes a little. Don't know if I can ever play it out.

Have Prophase and Interphase too, but they might be a little early style for me. A little fast and psy sounding.

Posted by Az on Nov-16-2004 18:16:

I got a few tunes a while back that were supposedly made by transa
can't for the life of me think what they're called, or be bothered to dig them out, but they were of a much higher standard than the recent bollucks thats been coming out

Posted by Toufas on Nov-16-2004 18:48:

i cant find the words to describe the feeling i get from this song....
and yes it was in one of the greatest edm cds of all time...2 years resident......oakenfold at his best....

Posted by trance-ecj on Nov-16-2004 18:58:

The most rare vinyl I own is a Transa remix of Overground Werx - Set Me Free

A stunning remix...don't think anyone else has a copy

I think it's time for a 2004 remix of this classic!

Who do you think would be the right artist to remix this tune?

I'm thinkin PVD!

I think not. Another Reflectionsesque melody with his usual bassline to ruin a trance classic.

Posted by Toufas on Nov-16-2004 22:17:

dont ruin classics....
even transa themselves cant remix that masterpiece
there is nothing left to evolve in this song....

Oh dear god. Don't give them ideas. Enough classics have been raped in 2004 to last the entire decade.

Exactly my thoughts. They shouldn't go and do what Matt Darey has done this year and re-done most of hid old classics. They sound good but it I prefer them to be left alone.

Posted by trance-ecj on Nov-17-2004 01:09:

In 2003 (maybe even 2002???) Transa were thinkin about re-releasing their old singles along with their own 200_ remixes (2002/2003/2004)

This was after their album was released. They released an album, thought of reworking their old material, launched their own label, their last single was the opening track on nyana, and performed huge live shows. They were stormin the scene and just up and left. Their website, www.exciter-recordings.co.uk is updated (it seems) once every year. I guess there's a new Kansai single comin out called Nexus on Exciter, but who knows when that'll be. Their other site which had everything Transa related (info, discog, remixography, show dates, and tons of sound samples) has left the net. (www.transamusic.com)

Where these guys went and why I have no idea, but they were my favs. I would not be here today without them, for they got me to love and spin trance. I have every single song and remix they have ever made including the only full version of their own 2002 mix of Prophase and their remix for Scot Project - U(I got the Feelin). From a huge huge fan, please come back guys. We all miss you.

Anyone here seen Transa live???

I saw them a couple years ago... all I can say is that they should stick to producing. They were awful DJ's.... IMO
