Jan...my favorite male vocalist. Nice to see you posting on TA. You're such an undiscovered talent. You can produce as well as sing.

I listen to How Long every day. Your vocals are emotional...moving. Terry's downtempo mix is brilliant. I look forward to hearing all the mixes once they are done.

I know I have said this before and I will say it again...thank you for doing the vocals on Eternal Unity. I don't think anyone else could have captured the feelings that Terry was trying to express quite the way that you did.

Wow, thank you so much You are too kind! Well - i hope to finish "how long" some day.. But i've worked so much on it that i just wont throw it out to the wolves without giving it my best. So we'll see what i can do with it in time.. I feel it needs to grow on me a bit longer.. However - the remixes might be released without an original..

Eternal Unity, yes .. well, I guess i will have to do the vocals again, since i feel they are a bit sour in some parts.. But i guess thats what you get when you write the lyrics and record the vocals in a timespan of two hours.. lol..

I hope you liked this new tune aswell

Hugs - Jahala

Ah, this tune is completely done (almost, atleast).. We were talking about another tune called "How long".. I've sent a mail to a guy at 3Beat.. we'll see if he bothers to listen/respond.. Anyone know other labels that carry this kind of tunes?

The volume for the whooshes is intentionally "too" loud.. serves a purpose..

Yes I like this track. It has a great sound to it.

How Long will be a strong male vocal track once it is done so I don't blame you for wanting to take your time with it. Terry's first attempt at a chillout version is brilliant to me. Yes it needs to be tweeked since it isn't a finished production, but I thought he captured the beauty of your voice in a way that most upbeat remixes won't. As it is the vocals are very passionate and for me passion and emotion outweighs everything else. The night that he first sent it to me I had it on loop for quite some time. I do that to see if I will get tired of a track easily. That didn't happen with yours.

As for Eternal Unity I can understand you wanting to improve on the vocals since you are an artist and most artists strive for perfection. Quite honestly there are some places that I think should be left alone or at least duplicated. Contact me if you want to know the parts that I am speaking of. I'm very partial to that track for obvious reasons.

Much love to you,

Amber

Thank you so much everyone for the positive feedback. I really wasn't expecting this. We'll see if some labels like the tune as much as you do. And like i said before - if you know any labels that carry this kind of music, please let me know

the drums are good, the "wash" Fx is a bit louder, but GG boy !

Posted by jahala on Dec-02-2004 11:30:

The wash FX is that loud to "open" a compressor i use from time to time.. And also to really catch the attention of the listener..

Thanks for listening

i like your intro, got nice synths and great atmosphere
i like your percs, they are pretty nice
maybe make the bassline a bit stronger, unless you intended it like that
overall good song, i think it could use some improvement, like on the bassline , but good work

This is some truly amazing breaks! A great track! I wonder why some pretty average work here on TA gets way more attention then something like this.

I like the effects and percussion. Druming and meldodies fit very nicely! Maybe use a different sytnh/intrument for bass. But you seem to know what you are doing, so I have not much to say.

Thank you so much .. Well - it might be because progressive breaks isn't as commercial as trance.. I myself feel prog/breaks is a more "mature" genre.. So perhaps the general public of TA is a bit too young to appreciate it fully.

But I dont really mind, im more than happy with the great feedback you and the others posting in this thread have given. Gives me energy and inspiration to keep on producing altough my days are dark at the moment.

Thank you all!

IMO the dark days are best for producing music...I think those are among the only times when you create a song on the fly, right out of your mind, not just experimenting and cathcing something worthwhile...

Nice tune man, listen it every time I go to school/am @ school/go home

Breaks are mainstream here and trance is more underground. I don't think either is more mature than the other. Around here the people that tend to be more into breaks is the younger crowd and the older crowd tends to lean more towards trance. I think it's all a matter of opinion and of course exposure. I'll take either one over hip hop.

Days are dark at the moment? I hope things start looking brighter for you.
