i cant wait!! only 8 hours to go. hope to see some tranceaddict people there.

Posted by Eugene on Nov-03-2001 19:08:

I'm not going there.
But, I don't think I'll miss anything special.
Much as I respect Armin as a songwriter, his progressive DJ sets don't appeal to me at all.

Posted by trancedance on Nov-04-2001 14:58:

Satan (eek!)

That was the first time I heard AVB spin - he didn't sound progressive to me! He absolutely demolished the club - in fact he didn't want to stop playing; he went an hour over into Edgar V's time. Edgar V didn't care...he was watching like the rest of us. Then Armin stayed after a little bit jamming with everyone else while Edgar V went off! The only thing was that the club cut Edgar V short instead of giving him his extra hour back. (man was he pissed - you should have seen his face). What a shame because he also had us all mesmorized like Armin. I've heard Edgar spin several times before, but he has never went off like that. That was a special magical night that doesn't happen all the time. Every DJ brought their A game. Man, I didn't want to leave!!!! They put the club thru a shredder.......

Smiley DJ Incredible

One of the best DJ sets I've ever heard...
Started off with a track I didn't know, but it was perfect to start off the night, dark, hard trance track... leading into Marco V - Simulation... there was so much energy at Glow last night it was crazy, floor was packed, people's hands in the air, just enjoying the music... Ferry Corsten next week!!!

These are some of the songs I recognized even though he spun for 2 and 1/2 hours... highlight of the night was Exhale.

Marco V - Simulated
Riva - Rapture (Armin van Buuren remix)
Perpetuous Dreamer - Sound of Goodbye (Rising Star Mix)
Dj Tiesto - Urban Train
System F with Armin - Exhale
Ocean Lab - Clear Blue Water (not sure which mix)
Push - The Legacy

I was able to get up in the DJ Booth when he finished to get a couple of autographs, and he is a really cool guy, I told him he needs to come back to DC and start exposing all the people here to trance. Edgar V was also off the HOOK!!!

Posted by yujie__ on Nov-04-2001 18:00:

here is the tracks list that i remember from last night:
4 strings - into the night
ralphie b - massive
tiesto-urban train
freefall-skydive
ocean lab-clear blue water
perpetuous dreamer-the sound of goodbye
cygnus x-superstrings
Riva - Rapture
system f feat armin - exhale
Push - The Legacy
Tranquility_Base-Razorfish-(Above_&_Beyond_Bangin_Mix)
binary finary-1999 or 2000 or 2001 if it do exist?

this is what i remember from the awesome set. it was more than crazy. he knows how to get people moving. my head is still banging from it. i cant wait for ferry.

HappyHappy

Agreed! AVB kept the dance floor moving and the superb music flowing. Completely blew me away - I don't think I've ever danced that hard for that long before! Keep the music comin'...

Dancing Dude JUST GOT BACK TO PITTSBURGH

OMG that was the first time I've heard AVB spin live and I'm definetely a lifetime fan now. I normally don't like his progressive style from his livesets that I have heard, but his set last nite was REDICULOUS!!! And him coming out to meet the crowd and sign autographs at the end of his set was an added treat. His set was so good I insisted on shaking his hand twice haha.

That being my first time to club glow, i hafta say I like the sound and lighting but the place is a bit too clubby. Although I don't like a drug nest like Nation I would prefer a healthy mix between the two. Anyway anybody know if they ever refuse entrance for wearing tennis shoes? The bouncer told me not to wear them next time but dancing with dressy square shoes hurts and I'm not about to do the white boy shuffle ... I need to move my legs and feet.

Anyway making another trip down to see Ferry next week!!! Hope to see you all there!

Monkey Dancer 2

While in line, two people were turned away because they were wearing work boots (I'm thinking the steel-toed thing doesn't help) but I think the smart-casual dress works; there were plenty of people in there with loose-fitting clothing. I was dressed up, just to be on the safe side, but I think next time (def Teisto at the end of the month) I might dress down a little more.

Posted by TDR on Nov-05-2001 04:52:

Confused

And just who is Teisto? lolol

Love

About 30 of us NY'ers drove down to DC just for Armin. My first time seeing him live...incredible. He's soooooo cute! I got his autograph & told him he needs to come to NY, we love him. My friends & I shouted repeatedly "Come to NY!" He may come in feb...he's mad busy. He's in law school & working on another album.

Tracklisting:
Marco V-Simulated
Kings of Clubs- Revelation (Airwave remix)
Ocean Lab- Clear blue water (Above & Beyond remix)
Rapture (Armin remix)
Airwave- Light speed
Airwave- Mysteries of Life
PVD- Tell me why (Vandit remix)
Binary Finary- 1998 (Pvd remix)
System F featuring AVB- Exhale (Inhale remix w/Ferry)
Tiesto- Urban Train
Perpetous Dreamer- Sound of Goodbye (Rising Star remix)
Push- The Legacy
Ralphie B-Massive
Agnelli & Nelson - Vegas (Fear And Loathing Remix)
3 Drives on Vinyl- Sunset in Ibiza (Above & Beyond remix)
Freefall- Skydive (Warrior remix)
###Closed w/Cygnus X-Superstring (Rank 1 remix)###

Edgar was SICK!!!!!
Sunscream vs. Push- Please Save me
Push- Strange World (2001 remake)
Windsider- Hidden Flight
Rammstein- Ich Will (Pvd remix)
PVD- Out there I LOST MY SHIT!
Red Sector- Invasion over Berlin (Kosmonva remix)
Scot Project- Overdrive

I didn't hear 4 strings into the night. How can a club be too clubby? There were too many ppl grinding...it was nasty. I had an amazing time.

haha that's what my girlfiend said ... much to my chagrin (apparentely he even blew her a kiss ... the bastard!). No as I was saying, I had a GREAT time at the club! I absolutely loved the amount of dance space i had at the start of Armin's set and I LOVE GLOW.

But I said it was a litte bit too clubby in the respects that it seemed like not a lot of people knew who Armin was or were there there just to pick up girls/guys (hence the reason why tickets were not sold out and i had a shitload of dance space). Like I was watching a lot of people and nobody was singing along to the words of the vocal tracks that he spun or knew where the beats kicked in. It's not that big of a deal cuz everybody had a good time which is the most crucial thing, but it seemed like half the people weren't there for Armin but were there for Groove or the club scene ... ya know? Anyway who's gonna be there for ferry corsten??? im probably gonna bring a sign for songs id like ferry to spin so u should come up to me and introduce yourself ... i've never met a tranceaddict (being in pittsburgh) and i'd love to! Alright later!

PS tiesto is far cuter ... yes i realize that's a very homosexual statement for a guy to make but it's true

Ohh now I understand what u mean. It was more a drinking crowd, the ppl were clueless, they didn't even know what was going on. It was too packed at times to dance & there were to many ppl grinding. Mad hoes in that joint. My crew & I dominated the left part in front of the stage. The blonde kid working the orange strings was part of the NY crew. We are coming back down on the 24th for PVD & Tiesto!.

Glad to hear alot of you guys came down, and the kid with the orange strings was very skilled! Glowsticks look great in dark clubs like that. But yeah, I would say most people that attend Glow are generally there for the social aspect of the club more than the music aspect, and I think it's safe to say that more than half of the people there did not really know who Armin van Buuren was. Hope to see you guys for Tiesto and PvD, Ferry Corsten will be at Glow this coming Saturday so keep that in mind as well! If you saw the guy with the blank tank-top walk up on stage to talk to Armin as soon as Armin finished his set and Edgar V started spinning, that was me.

Was the girl that got her shirt signed also part of the NY TAs?

Which one are u going to? They're spinning different parties on the same night i thought. Heh it would be sweet if you worked out the DJ times so you could go to both parties ... expensive but sweet.

I'm going to try to to both of them; it depends on what time PVD spins on Saturday's 2pm -2am show. He's really the only one there I I want to hear. And if he finishes early, I'll drive from the DC armory to Glow and catch Tiesto. My fingers are crossed!!
