Question So then... any ideas for the next remix competition?

Was thinking it wouldn't be too bad a time to get something sorted seeing as the winter holidays aren't far off for most

So yeah.. any ideas? Another vocal tune this time round? Or an instrumental maybe? Apparently I get to choose what goes ahead but really don't know what to go for at the moment!

Suggestions/comments etc welcome

new remix competition... would be lovely.. if it were to be a vocal track, we should see what clean-vocals we are able to get our hands on.. Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes would be the bomb, but I doubt the vocals are available anywhere at all..

Yeah, ATRC accapella would seem pretty far fetched unfortunately.

The tracks I have decent accapellas for are:

BT - Remember
Lange - I Believe
Lost Witness - Happiness Happening
Kosheen - Catch
Delerium - Silence

...most of those seem obvious choices though, so I dunno. Am sure there's loads more good ones out there.

i say

Rank 1 - Airwave
Insigma - Open Your Eyes
Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar

Why does it always have to be a vocal track?

Dj tiesto - theme from norfjell
Orinoko. Feat Xan - Island
040. Feat Erika Baxter - Dreams
M.I.K.E. - Sunrise At Palamos

these would be good ones

+1 and even thought i'm not a producer, don't remix classics like cafe del mar, no need for 20+ remix to that already has shitloads of remixes

I agree with ZxZDeViLZxZ and Airscape.

Rank 1 - Airwave
Dj Tiesto - Theme From Norefjell

All boring choices.

Hmm imo, if we take a vocal track ,lets pick something original.

Am thinking of Seal-Crazy.

I wanne see a trance version of that. Good song as well.

I suggest
gouryella - tenshi
mauro picotto - back to cali (there is no really good remix)

Why does it always have to be a trance track that's remixed (and usually one that's been remixed to death anyway? )

Get everybody remixing something else into trance.....much more scope for originality.

how about some of Madonnas tracks? the accapelleas arent that hard to get

Posted by onceler on Dec-09-2004 21:53:

What is the timeframe for these contests? If it is not too long, what about a holiday song? If this would stretch past the holidays, what about a song that is just totally out there? Something that has no remixes, something that isn't really tied to electronic music, something that every submission we get on here would be totally unique.

It seems like there is a wanting to have the track we remix different than an EDM track. What about setting some timeframes here? Something like we have a week to submit possible tracks. After that week, they are compiled and limited down over the next week or so and finally limited down to the track we are going to take a stab at remixing.

holiday song would be lame and cheesy...i'd like to see a remix contest of some U2 or The Smiths tunes...

Posted by alanzo on Dec-10-2004 02:11:

how about a REMIX.. not a remake (I.E. not a trance track)

Theme to Lord of the Rings

Posted by krivi on Dec-10-2004 03:36:

i think there is no good remix of u2 beautiful day but this is tune i'd really like to hear in trance style
