NEVER buy Chinese mandarines

I was about to take a nap, and wanted to eat a mandarine. So I pick one out of the box, and it felt kinda squishy and didn't really care. I go to take it out of the green wrapper, and next thing I know, its white as a fucking snowball. I decided to check the rest, and WTF. 4 of them. I'm going to return them to the store and give them a bitching.

sick, looks like they got some fungus. ive had mandarins for years and had no problems. when you buy them, always open up the box and check the quality of the product.

Idea

unbelieveable...id consider bringing in a few lawyers ...lol

You should try one and see if it gets you high. If you happen to survive, you should consider selling them to the local kids on your neighborhood. I'm sure you can get your money back and them some by pushing these "magical manderines."

As the TA Produce Clerk, I would like to comment on Chinese Mandarins.

When (most) stores get shipped these things, we get a full pallet (200+ cases)

It is fcking impossible for us to check every single box.

So my question to you is: why the fuck didn't you open it before you buy it?

Quite often they come in from the warehouse like that, not because it's been sitting on the floor for years.

The store I buy from hates when people do that, so I don't bother. I expect things to be fresh though. Last night I bought some sausage that expired OCT 16th, and didn't realize it. I tried bringing it back and they told me to f00k off, in a nice way. :/

I would have thrown that sausage back at their faces and boycotted the mofos from then on.

See, not only does that store not discard expired food nor offer to reimburse you for selling you expired food, but the girls who work there are fugly as well.

Tell me which store that was and I'll boycott it as well.

Posted by Flec on Dec-12-2004 19:52:

you should have gone in the store and whipped all the mandarins all over the place ( make sure to throw them hard enough to burst)

Posted by zig on Dec-12-2004 20:15:

Could allways try a pavement protest ye know with placards banners and stuff or chain yourself to the front door or if that dosnt work i believe arson is very effective but they probably wouldnt change the mandarins for u if u go the arson route...but u could allways ask

I have to totally agree here. Been a produce clerk myself and had the misfortune of needing to dig through and rebox and entire pallet of mandarins that were of the quality described. I have a real dislike of citrus mold myself so it was a horrible job for a few hours one day.

I'd recommend checking any box of fruit that you purchase, especially during the holidays when these things become a big item. Most the time it just takes too much time for the produce employees to look through the boxes before they are put out on display. If you are going to search through the boxes. . just try to not make a huge mess and the produce employees shouldn't get too upset with you.

If I was you I'd call in the health inpectors. Dunno what it's like there but in the uk, here. You get charged 2000 per out of date item, i.e. 10 bags of out of date tomatoes = 20000 (us$40000 ish). Made me do my job fucking right when I had to check stuff when I used to work in a supermarket.

Posted by Transporter on Dec-13-2004 01:59:

Yeah those are the best kind. Don't worry about the white stuff.... if you do decide to try one.... dial 911 first.. and tell them to hurry.......
....but seriously....REFUND !!

I'll sit out front of the store with a sign and an old oil drum.

Posted by MERLIN on Dec-13-2004 04:52:

that sounds more like it!

Posted by AlphaStarred on Dec-13-2004 04:57:

impale that bitch with a sword, kill any witness as well, and set fire to the store after thieving a few hundred dollars from the cash register.
