i tried the demo, I liked it.. synth-edit is underrated

Posted by TranceMasterUk on Dec-30-2004 02:51:

yea this is actually quite good.

i bought this the other day, for the low cost it was worth it.
and i love the gui.

Posted by superddman on Dec-30-2004 05:41:

this vsti is worth every penny. I recommend it to everyone. It prooves that vstis made in synthedit can deliver phat sound.

Oh ya, and GUI is beautiful!!!

Looks awesome! I'm d/ling now the demo version...let's see what it's capable of

Posted by staticblue on Dec-30-2004 13:12:

sounds nice

Posted by Dj Pyster on Dec-30-2004 14:21:

I downloaded the demo, pretty nice presets and damn easy to program, nice sounding, overall it seems to have it's uses for trance. I like it, I might buy it

Posted by thecYrus on Dec-30-2004 16:36:

i tried it last week but the sound isn't that impressive..

Posted by State of Matter on Dec-30-2004 16:36:

IMO that detune pad is not as phat as the pro 53. You can hear the tin sound of it, like the sound is being echoed through a tin can. It's not bad, and Im impressed considering its a synthedit synth, definitely better than v station and superwave in terms of sound, but the pro 53 and obviously the jp itself stlil get a warmer sound.

yup, same opinion here.
what is missing also is the hard fast attack, of which only very few softsynthis are capable of.

sound is not really fat imho, too much noisestuff

Yeah, i have to agree on that.

It just sound like superwave imo. Pro-53 or discovery sound so much better

hey man i dont use supersaws, but letting a synth perform supersaws for me is the fastest way to hear if the synth is good

Hahaha! I quite agree, although it does seem like the supersaw lead is becoming the benchmark with which to compare VSTis.

imho i do it the same way. if you can get a non-static supersaw out of a subtractive synthesizer, its sound is quite good for everything (good analogue emulation). but there are still synths which are capable of good sounds and can't produce proper supersaws.

Posted by BetaFactory on Dec-31-2004 11:23:

I've tried it now, and I'm not too impressed. Yes, it is quite ok, but the sound isn't as crisp as it perhaps could be, and definetly: the lack of fast attack is a big issue. It sounds quite weak. I'll still stick to my fairly mediocre hardware setup.

Posted by KilldaDJ on Dec-31-2004 13:18:

it sounds very basic...

but i cant see how u lot can dis the v station or the much loved pro 53.

v station supersaw sample

example of the v station supersaw that i whipped up after hearing this adventus thing. however the only thing this new vst is good for is probably bass for its linear sound. doesnt come near the phatness of that supersaw.
