Snow Day!??!?!?!

O man, Chicago (where I am) is supposed to get a foot of snow, plus it was freezing raining earlier, so that will coat the roads with ice!

Tomorrow, snow day please!!!!

Hmmm, I'm in Colorado and its snowing pretty nicely here. Which sucks 'cause I was planning on driving to Denver earlier but delayed 'cause of it, now it turns out there's probably gonna be much more tomorrow.

I live in Canada, and I have never experienced a "snow day"

Posted by wolverine16 on Jan-05-2005 05:08:

Yeah, it's coming down really hard right now. Hopefully it'll snow enough that my work in the Loop will shut down too. At least now there's a good excuse when I show up late. I think you're going to get your wish Connerman2000.

we have snow days when the roads are iced over and there's a metre of snow.... and the only definite way for school to be cancelled is if the power goes out.

South of the border tho... "OMG, ONE FOOT OF SNOW!"

toughen up liddle kiddies. Dont let a bit of piddly snow stop you from going to school.

pffft, kids these days!!! imagine if I said I wasnt gonna do my girl in teh poop3r because it was snowing! Freaken poor excuse.

And can you believe that 5 years ago, school was cancelled because of -40 wind chill? In Canada, people would be tanning in that weather.

Heres hoping you dont have to work!

Posted by PhloTron on Jan-05-2005 05:30:

never had a "snow day" in 12 years of school and we averaged 300 inches of snow per year....hardee-har har

That said...they cancelled 3 days of work last year because the airport was closed due to an ice storm and all the aircraft had 2" of ice on them...kinda like big popsicles.

Sunday is supposed to be a high of 42 and partly Sunny. It's Chicago though, so it could fluctuate anywhere between 70 and -40 within a week. Come prepared for anything!

Posted by Zewad on Jan-05-2005 06:43:

we had a half day today b/c the ice got so bad,... and its just been getting worse... expected 4 to 6 inches tomorrow

manhattan, kansas btw

My bet is nothing will be closed tomorrow in Chicago. It takes a blizzard to shut things down and this storm is no blizzard.

I have to work and all it means is I will have to leave a half hour earlier to get into the city on time. And it is gonna be hell driving home after work.

Grow some balls. It is just snow.

I think we can all handle the weather, it's just everyone wants a day off if they can get it & growing up in the suburbs, this was normally enough to close the schools for a day. Maybe the city schools are different since there's not as much reliance on transportation.

I want snow here. We had like a week of snow here this season only and it was bearly cold. Fuck that, yesterday it rained for the whole day it supposed to be winter I want to freeze my nose off

Posted by Matt Jay on Jan-05-2005 11:37:

It was 34c (93.2f) here today with relative humidity over 60% most of the day.

A good indication of how disgusting the humidity is, is how many times you adjust your balls because they keep sticking to your leg

Storms are possible tomorrow with a potential cyclone (hurricane) forming out to sea in the next few days

Its not about growing balls, its about not going to school, which, in the end, we had to today. But tomorrow there is hope, since the worst of the storm isnt expected until later tonight.

I hate this snow. Now I gotta go snowblow my driveway again.
