Tiesto ATM, the poll:

What do you all think of DJ Tiesto ATM?
I used to be such a massive fan of this guy, but lately I hear remixes/productions and think DJ Sammy.
Dont get me wrong, I WAS one of his biggest fans, but what has happened?

Posted by 00soups00 on Jan-28-2005 05:44:

to be honest i think its a combination of B & D.

his production is still strong..

really like

Tiesto - Ancient History

I dont think he is a sell out, just HIS taste has changed. It is unfortunate we wont see another set along the god like lines of live at samfundet trondheim. Height of trance.

Posted by kixalot on Jan-28-2005 06:49:

I think his productions have gone downhill since the glory days of Tiesto. His latest productions simply don't appeal to me. I was never that impressed by his mixing either, so to me I guess you could say he's the same old Tiesto.

Posted by tachyon on Jan-28-2005 07:46:

i have to go with the change of taste, which i think contributes to how i perceive the quality of his productions now...

Defintely B. Prog. House, electro and acid house is where its at

Posted by muli on Jan-28-2005 08:45:

i think its a combination of him changing and my tastes changing.

I dont like his sets or productions at all now

Would i go see him again? Probably if the price was right. Just one last time, as he was the DJ who got me into trance!

haven't you been asking similar questions like this for ages now jules? he's peaked out.. and to quote the ever so famous line out of the casino movie cover

'no one stays at the top forever'.

heheh what's with the Bret "The Hitman" Hart option in the poll?

"The best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be"

I like Tiesto. At least he came out to Australia last year (twice!), unlike the king of smile and animation, Paul Van Duck.

Yeah right!

Any man that wears makeup is ghey, and Sting is definitely included....

Posted by Timski on Jan-30-2005 09:54:

I was never really that huge on him but i only really liked his older stuff... i mean lethal industry is one of my favorite tracks and prob always will be but most of his other stuff... being his new stuff is cheesy rubbish sound which i wouldnt piss on if it was a big fire of all shitty tracks... or something

Posted by n14owns on Jan-30-2005 15:37:

Never been a huge fan... having said that, I really enjoyed his remixes of Innocente (yes, at +8) and Silence right from when I first heard them.

But now... he sounds like he's trying too hard to be edgy... like he's got this special, mysterious production that nobody else has, that somehow justifies his #1?

I mean, people were talking about Love Comes Again as if male vocals had never happened before? It all feels a bit David Copperfield-ish.

Kurt fkn Angle

Posted by A.J. on Jan-31-2005 08:54:

I can't stand most of those "new school" wrestlers.

Well, i don't even watch wrestling anymore, and i haven't since about year 8 or 9, but still, they've got nothing on the traditions and old-skoolness of wrestlers like Andre The Giant, Hulk Hogan, The Bushwackers and "The Heartbreak Kid".

Posted by TCB on Jan-31-2005 13:38:

i was always a kurt angle fan!

going back to tiesto. i like some of his work. but i saw him play over a year ago and i was really disapointed. really up himself and i dont like people like that. matt darey now he's probably the coolest dj ive met. after he finished his set he jumped of the stage to meet his fans and sign autographs. then for the rest of the night he was at the bar with his girl friend getting pissed with us. top bloke.

Posted by christos on Jan-31-2005 22:01:

well if you question his number one position grab his new tiesto in concert 2 DVD. It's pretty amazing from both production and technical. His mixing is pretty bang on and track selection is unbelievable. He's a little more serious in this one compared to the last - def. worth a watch IMO

It's funny how we slag him or question his position - one thing I know for every one person bagging him out or doubting him, there are 3 people that absolutely love him. Packing out 75,000 people over two nights just for him is testament to that. Anyway I love his work!

shows how much people care about tiesto rofl. he sucks, imo.

now on the topic of wrestling, one of the best matches ever. remember this?

awww yeah!
