Monkey Dancer 2 Solar Stone - Eastern Sea

Rich Mowatt & Andy Bury are once again back creating solo music for their Solar Stone project and their newest track "Eastern Sea" has finally made it's way for all to hear! Greenwave played this track on Trance Destiny 37 the other day and I haven't been able to stop listening to it!

The bassline is driving yet relaxed just like in other Solar Stone songs. There are FX swooping in and out and some beautiful pads to accompany them. The highlight of the song is this INCREDIBLE piano melody that enters during the break down. The melody glides accross the scale so effortlessly creating this natural feeling melody that takes you off into dream land. Soon the piano gets accopanied with the bassline and kick and some pads too. Soon the piano exits and FX come in and switch things up a bit and then bam your back into the paino and pads which finishes off the song.

This song is breathtaking, at least for me it is. This is definetly favorite Solar Stone song since "Seven Cities" & "Solarcoaster."

*By the way I heard that there will be remixes of this by Espen & Elusive and Underwater...should be good stuff!

No, the one with Jes from Motorcycle is called 'Like A Waterfall'.
'Eastern Sea' has no vocals.

hmm sounds like gouryella mixed with someone, not a fan of the piano, they couldve used a guitar instead or soemthing

Which is it?

"Eastern Sea" or "Eastern Sun" because in the T/L for Greenwaves set it's labeled at "Eastern Sun" ....

Any confirmation would be helpful so I could update the thread

this tune (if it really is the one i heard) is really beautiful, and has some really nice elements.
however, it does indeed sound a tad amateurish (not that its a bad thing) but i feel they could have worked a little more on the bassline, to make it a little more exciting.

anyway, it's good to see solar stone producing "own" tracks again, without scott bond. in my opinion all their stuff with bond involved has been very boring. and not to mention red line highway, and their remix of jump the next train, both average at its best. not too fond of their remix of under the sun either, but i can see why people like it. for me, its great to see them make a new tune more similar to their little older stuff. nice comeback, this is on my wantlist :-)

edit: i think there is a remix coming up by espen & elusive.. anyone can confirm?

Eastern Sea
(I emailed Solarstone about it, Rich said Lost Language artists were remixing it)

Thank you!!! I'll update the post!

It's rather good. Not exceptional, but good. Which means much better than most epic these days.

Posted by starglider on Feb-05-2005 00:28:

The melody sounds interestingly Vangelis-influenced. The rest of the track is nothing new, but I'm generally a sucker for piano hooks anyway. Sounds pretty good.

Posted by Camwin on Feb-05-2005 03:06:

I would really like to hear their sig 'guitar' synth in there, not obvious like the "Solarcoaster" or "Seven Cities" but somewhere just to have the remenicent feel. and maybe a strum from the "After Hours mix" during the breakdown, i would knock myself if it was in there.

I don't like it.

Hate to piss on your bonfire guys, but this isn't the original, nor is it a version that will be released. The track is titled Eastern Sea for confirmation.

I'd also love to know how Greenwave got his hands on this....?

Good, because Solar Stone can do better, tbh.
