Are you looking for Chillout Chillout or Trance Chillout? Cause Trance that sounds chilled is alot different than stuff from a chillout artist, to me anyways.

For ambient though here are some albums I would recommend:

Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works Volume 2
The KLF - Chill Out
Woob - 1194
Desiderii Marginis - Strife
Banco De Gaia - Last Train to Lhasa
Banco De Gaia - Big Men Cry
Global Communication - 76:14
Scanner - Lauwarm Instrumentals

hi there frictionn,

n0bben is right ulrich schnauss is good.

but if you get ulrich's stuff...

get his album "far away trains passing by" first. the reason for this is because his album "A Strangely Isolated Place" has lots of pitch bending and i'm not sure if ur into that.

Ulrich Schnauss - Blumenthal

i guess i could name a few,

Chicane
Ulrich Schnauss
Vangelis
Biosphere
Brian Eno
Fanger and Schonwalder

try those out for starters and work into the more defined genre your after.

Here is an english lesson for you:

"Chillout" is an adjective used to DESCRIBE the genre Ambient.

The genre "Chillout" does not exist... My earlier post was in reference to Energy52 - Cafe Del Mar ( Kid Paul Mix ) being described as "Chillout"...

Is that too difficult for you to understand noob?

Posted by mto on Feb-08-2005 00:24:

Ok for real reply. I think Miro - Emotions of Paradise is a cool track. It's off of Cafe del Mar compilations, which are some of the best chill-out compilations ever.
