chris martin is a ****. He licensed the lost witness remix of trouble which got huge reactions in clubs and he cancelled it cos it was destined to be bigger than their original version. Sad really but I Have no respect for people like that

Seems o.k. to me.

Maybe he just wanted the right's so that he could own it or maybe Trouble was special to him so he didn't want it overshadowed.

I just died a little inside, U2 has lost all musical talent and now has three year olds write their music.

Really looking foreward to this Coldplay album as well as the barage of remixes I forsee

Rock is a pretty big genre to dimiss so quickly... try the one in my avatar for starters. You can keep the Coldplay.

in which case why license & allow a remix to even be made in the first place? doesn't make sense to me

I'll admit U2's new album isn't very that good, but I did enjoy All That I Can't Leave Behind. They've still got the potential to do something. They just need to go back to working with Eno more.

I don't know much about licensing and all that jive, but they're probably worried about what happened to the Beatles -- McCartney had to sue Jacko for rights to his own music? That's just messed up.

Ok, so I was a little bit quick on the trigger. There are indeed other rock bands I still enjoy (and albums I still buy).

I cant wait. I have been listening to Coldplay and Kean alot lately and I cant believe how much more polished Coldplay sounds compared to Keane, which IMO is an incredible artist in his own right.

Personaly I don't even think there is a comparison to be made from songs like One, Sunday Bloody Sunday, New Years Day, Where the Streets Have No Name, etc. and the stuff they put out now.

Posted by Kooshtie on Feb-16-2005 04:00:

not that im a fan of em' but have people forgotten the huge strides green day has made as a comeback band? everyone thought that group was done and over with along with ur middleschool yearbooks, but look. Oasis is planning another album and i believe its in the works, thats gonna be really exciting to listen to eventhough Noel Gallagher is a ****.

Yea and if Paul McCartney would have George Martin produce his stuff again . . .

I'll never forgive U2 for reviving the whole rock star persona bullshit that punk so successfully squashed. Almost.

Bono started out emulating Ian Curtis and now has more in common with Aerosmith. And what's with the one word name? I thought that was ment for supermodels, footballers and Christ.

Remember Eno also produced Devo too.
