No one told me about the Post-it Notes software

What will they think of next?

It's like our favorite stationary but for your computer.

Amazing!

I don't care what anyone says, nothing will replace sticking dozens of actual post-it notes on my monitor's front bezel.

Outlook 2K/XP/2K3 has it built in ala 'Notes' unless there's something else special about this version?

Posted by Izra on Feb-19-2005 03:51:

Jesus, judging by the reactions here you'd think that someone had just discovered sliced bread or indoor plumbing here.

Go to download.com and type in "notes" and you'll get more than 500 results, many from several years ago. Why would anyone pay for this software when there is so much quality free software out there? Miranda has built-in notes, Office 2K3 has OneNote (not free but tons of people have Office), back in the day I used to use something called ATNotes and years before that I had something else which I can't even remember the name of.

And for those drooling over Apple's Dashboard... That kind of shit has been around for at least 5 years in the various X-Window Managers and also LiteStep (Windows). I believe that Object Desktop for Windows also has many similar features.

This is probably one of the best programs around for me. I always have ideas that I'll "think about later" and then forget about them. This way, I'm easily able to take note of anything.

Thank you Margs!

yep.. welcome to last year, ppl.

and I'd suggest using ATNotes instead of 3M Notes... why? cuz it's free, it's easy to use and it doesn't come with all these features and settings that 3M comes with. Hell, it took me more to figure out how to use it than it was to post a single note...

whats that feature called that allowed you to view all your open programs by moving the mouse to a certain corner of the screen?

I know its standard on Macs but someone came up with that on Windows too...anyone by any chance know that that program is called?

Posted by sohaness on Feb-22-2005 06:02:

on macs its called expose. it's the best thing since sliced bread.

I was just about to say the same thing. Outlook not only has notes, but task pads, and reminders that sound when the task/appointment is due. you can even set when you want to be reminded through increments of time.

Sorry to burst 3M's bubble!
