PvD vs. Tiesto @ Roxy (March)???

some1 i know swears that this is happening, i told him no way, PvD would never spin at Roxy (#1), no1 could ever afford those 2 on the same night or else it already will have been done (#2), not to mention PvD's dates are already booked in March...... this dude SWEARS on his mother that it IS happening tho, since he's supposedly one of the opening DJs, idk, and supposedly its a 2 day post-WMC thing, ne1 know about it???? im really doubting its happening, considering, people are already souped about PvD in Central Park this summer, if something like this were REALLY happening, the ppl at TA woulda already heard at least rumors about it well in advance..... what do u guys think?

Posted by sandstorm03 on Feb-20-2005 00:13:

Thumbs down

not happening

Posted by pvd420 on Feb-20-2005 00:18:

would it really be so hard for something this to happen at a bigger venue? i mean if pvd and tiesto nights usually are filled to capacity then why couldnt something like what you said happen at the garden or something that has a large capacity?

i know a hell of a lot of planning would have to go into it, but i seriously could see enough tickets being sold to it.

Posted by madhattared on Feb-20-2005 01:00:

it would be mad sweet.
NYC needs something like the WMC.

Posted by sandstorm03 on Feb-20-2005 01:07:

would be to controversial... then people would start saying its 2 commercial, blah blah blah...

Posted by DeRangedMind on Feb-20-2005 01:07:

DJ Eco what a joke but you know what as soon as Michi see this he will ask Paul Van Dyks manager and we will get confirmation.Anyways thanks for the joke

trust me.... i think its just as much of a joke as u do, i just wanted to get a confirmation though, like u said... the dude that told me was SOOOOO positive it was happenoing tho, he even said flyers are coming out soon, so that was kinda pushing the limit of the lie.... i still dont believe it either tho.

Posted by Vlad on Feb-20-2005 02:15:

If this was happening, something would have leaked out already.

Anyway, Paul is spinning the 25th and 26th of March in Miami... so there is no way that he could be spinning at the end of March in NYC.

AND on top of that Paul is already booked to spin in NYC in April.

markus said the next time paul will be in the area, is the crobar event...

so let it be commercial...i dont give a shit. if that gets me a really long night of two of my fav dj's then so be it. i mean "over the top" type shows like TIC arent special if they happen all the time but at the moment i dont have the time or $ to fly to europe to catch a festival or anything. besides who knows i mean the wmc probably started at a similar idea and look how it has grown over the last 6 years. all it takes it someone to take a chance that first time.

even bigger than something at the garden...imagine an ultra type festival at giants stadim in the summer...

nothing like it would ever happen, and it would be a lot of commercial music...

they had things like lollapalooza at randall's island. i wouldn't mind going there for a big outdoor event

Posted by Vlad on Feb-20-2005 21:46:

The should do one on either Ellis Island or Liberty Island... could you imagine Paul van Dyk and Tiesto in a DJ booth at the foot of the Statue of Liberty?

Thats retarded, cause no one would be able to see them. I thought about them setting up the DJ booth where the flame is cause they actually have a balcony there that you can walk on.

one can always have cameras in the crown.

and for tiesto, he can always just say that he felt like he was on top of the world

Trust me, I dont think he needs to be in the Statue of Liberty's crown to feel like that.

But seriously though, when you DJ, you want to be a part of the crowd, you want to interact with the crowd, you want to feel what they are feeling, and doing that kills all of that, not only for the DJ, but for the crowd because they interact with the DJ also.

Posted by DJ Eco on Feb-20-2005 22:54:

^^exactly....

...but i think the most reasonable suggestion would be to have an all out summer of EDM in Central Park, not just PvD, Tiesto, AvB, but expand it..... have talent like Marco V and Johan Gielen and J00F and random DJs that u usually see at Avalon, even bring the house and tribal into, Erick Morillo, Danny Tenaglia..... Central Park parties own, and theyre always successful, no matter what (rain.... ahem..... PvD )

Posted by AstralNrg on Feb-20-2005 23:04:

yeah they should do something like mysteryland in central park , have a couple of headlining dj's .. So we dont have to spend 50$ for each dj...

Posted by sandstorm03 on Feb-21-2005 00:51:

still forgetting the fact that cp has to end by 10...

and day events are alright, but not as spectacular...

tiesto > pvd

.....^^^riiiiiiiiiiiiiiite well, i am amused by train wrecks, so i guess Tiesto does an alrite job at keeping the crowd.... "amused"
