Nekkid Credit Card Numbers on ClubSpace.com?
Has anyone else noticed that the sales site on Space does NOT encrypt their sales pages? That means if you buy tix on their site, your credit card number goes out naked for all those lovely hacker types to read. I tried both IE and Firefox and neither reported any security settings. If I'm wrong, please let me know. Otherwise, I can't believe Space would fail to implement even basic security for their customers.

Thats fucking bullshit. Space has their heads up their asses.
yep, the site is unsecure..Im hoping tickets can be bought over the phone??
That's some scandalous shit, but somehow it's not surprising...

Any sort of transaction done with your check card is covered under Regulation E.
well thats kinda gay...
i cant believe their shit isnt secure, what a bunch of lame ass fucks. and i was gonna buy my tickets for spin on thursday and space on friday today. now i'm a little nervous to enter my brand new credit card in there....oh well, guess i just gotta risk it.
yay im real excited to purchase pre-sales...
If you get ripped on your credit card, DON'T pay it, inform your CC company, and contact the FBI... Once again, a classic panic from the TA hacker crew. I'll cry about it when something actually happens. Yes, I understand what the lack of security on the web means, but the way I see it, almost everything is hackable. Yes, this makes it easier, but here we have once again more tears over some paranoid, hypothetical happenings. Chill out, I already fed them my digits, I'll let you guys know if I get charged more than $435.50 for my 2 passes. Honestly, I'm not surprised about their website's lack of security measures... it's not EBAY. They do this once a year? C'mon, the Space crew probably has know clue they left that one untouched... they work at Club Space people.
i'm not really worried about it.. if anything happens i will simply contact my bank.
its only an issue because ssl encryption is a fundamental concept in ecommerce and whoever wrote that shopping cart should know better.
i'm starting to think Dave would stand behind Space no matter what those douchebags did. its pretty clear LP could give 2 shits about the patrons, as long as he can squeeze more money out them he will.
still, i'm not gonna miss the K-man, i'll buy my ticket with a credit card that's close to maxed.

).. been the reknown club that it is, it should protect it's buyers... customers are the most important, but with this kind of service, it really shows what they are lacking .. is not shocking that Space is doing it this way, but sad that such a good club like it is.
I was at the bank today and just for the hell of it I mentioned this situation to the teller and they told me if I was worried about it, I could always go to the bank and have a new debit card made with a new number.....so thats always an option.
James, I guess I'm coming off that way... whatever, I'm not worried about it, that's all. Felipe, I agree with you, they're just too lost in their shit to give a damn. The thing is though, WMC will manifest itself perfectly, as it has been doing... and I think those who buy their passes from Space will be allright. I apologize for the confusion, I'm just keeping a positive attitude about the whole thing. Felipe, I don't think they feel the pressure from Nocturnal yet, so they're not worried about losing customers, especially ones like me who go there all the time. I see this as a great oppurtunity for Nocturnal to tighten up Space's attitude, for sure.

| in contrast to Space, which caters to "true" electronic music fans who want to see the most popular DJs in the world (Tisto, Paul Van Dyk, Deep Dish), Sokoloff said that Nocturnal will feature lesser-known but critically acclaimed artists, such as Armand Van Helden and Felix da Housecat. Its residents include techno maven DJ Strike, house DJ Edgar V, and turntables guru DJ Craze. The rooftop lounge will feature performers enlisted by deep house/soul promoters Aquabooty (Joe Budious and Tomas Ceddia). "Our job is not only to entertain people, but to service customers," said Sokoloff. For example, when a customer purchases a bottle, the wait staff will use a Palm Pilot to automatically transmit the order to the basement; there's a kiosk that can shuttle bottles from the basement to any of the three floors. "The bus boy and the bar back don't have to go any further than that to get anything you need," said Sokoloff. "It'll cut that 30- to 40-minute time down to five minutes, six minutes." |

no matter what people think about Space...
it's still completely inexcusable to not have any encryption when getting someone's credit card number
end of story
