Zalayeta of all people???

Amazing game for Juve, battled hard without Nedved especially, and beat out a giant of a team. Best defense in the world if you ask me, and a fantastic display for Trezegol coming off the bench.

What's your take on it?

Unfortunately I was stuck in a pub watching the liverpool, then arsenal game.

but from what I saw of extra time juve looked the best team by far.

Come on the buffon - my favourite player ever.

I think Chelsea could give them a run for their money for best defence in the world. Only conceded 9 in the league so far, compared to Juves 16. But of course Juve have done better defence wise in Champions league, although Chelseas 2 goals conceded at Porto dont count really cos it was reserve team....anyway

Wanted Real to win! Think wed (liverpool) have a better chance against them than Juve.. prob favourites now for me.. Love to see them play Chelsea next round!

hahahahahahaha ... i will let this one pass just because madrid was disqualified and i'm happy

Plastick UEFA scheduled Milan and Inter matches on the same day and they were both away for the first leg so they had to be home on the same day for the second leg? Not possible so Inter moved to next week.

Stupid UEFA

Lol yeah, they should ahve drawed between inter and AC to see who had to play home first... or something like that.

Anyway, i'm pleased by the juve game; Real knocked out

Dunno

It's something i can't understand about Juve... Looking at the (bigger part of) their matches their defence seems fragile and unsure. Atleast to me. (this match being one of the exceptions.) But the other team has in general this tendency to not score goals. In some way Juve make the other teams play worse, but I do not understand how. Maybe it's only the bigger part of the teams in serie A having mental blocks for beating Juve, what do I know...

Think they played rather well this match anyway. A lot better than normal in any way. I just wish that Zlatan could actually do something useful with the ball after all those beatiful controls. Like making up his mind a bit quicker, without contemplating the alternatives for a few seconds before doing anything every time he recieves the ball.

The best thing was anyway to see Stadio delle alpi LIVING for once. Hope some of the 60 000 enjoyed the game and come back some more time to fill up the stadium. Well worth the 60 Euro i payed for the ticket. Especially when my friends dad insisted on paying it for me.

"Zalayeta of all people"

Are you freakin' kidding me? Two years ago, he punished Barca in a similar style in et in the quarters. He may be a little low-profile, but NEVER underestimate the modest Uruguyan.

Yeah, but then a match in CL with Real is a bit different from a Serie A match with Atalanta...

The tickets to the curves (only 40euro!! wow!) were all finished so we had to buy the more expensive seats at the sides. And the prices were more than doubled from a normal match in Serie A.
Normally you can find tickets at the curves even the day before the match for 15-20 euros, which is already enough.
It's like 20-25 thousands in serie A (more if like Milan or Roma) but this time they almost filled the stadium with 60 000 even though they had doubled the costs... They made 3.5 million euro on ticket sales this match. Guess that's about one tenth of buying back Zidane.

So, yes, the ticket prices were outrageous.

Yeah suprised Juve got more than the normal 4,000 that shows up to watch them

Chelsea's defense is a close 2nd for me. But just thinking of the firepower Real have - Raul, Ronaldo, Owen, Zidane, Figo, Beckham, shit even Roberto Carlos - are all capable of changing a game on a dime, and to hold them to just 1 goal over 2 legs is something that a team hasn't been able to accomplish in a while in the CL (someone prove me wrong).

... so you're saying that since Ibrahimovic, Trezeguet, Del Piero, Emerson and others are on the field at the same time it is uncustomary to look to them for a game changing or winning goal. You put it well yourseld "low-profile", I think it's great what he did, but considering the circumstance it was a bit unexpected.

exactly why they're in 2nd place...?

Posted by fastmp3 on Mar-14-2005 20:17:

hahahaha dude i'll let the other ones respond to you, i won't bother

Posted by Bortsa on Mar-15-2005 00:13:

ok i will respond. I was giving barca fans shit cause chelsea knocked them out but the truth is i love watching barca play because they play with amazing flair and skill, hence they are in 1st place. Real Madrid on the other hand could not string a positive result together if they tried, hence they are in 2nd place. in conclusion, Madrid are not shitty, Barca are just much better!

Posted by denys envy on Mar-15-2005 00:57:

well what fastmp3 is trying to say is that Valencia, Deportivo, Villareal, and the other of the 18 sides under real (20 teams in la liga???) are pure shit...

Posted by fastmp3 on Mar-15-2005 07:36:

dude for the last two seasons real madrid is a team with no spirit saying they're good because they're 2nd is stupid IMO specially WHEN YOU DIDN'T WATCH THEIR GAMES this season

they are shit, only reason there second is because Valencia and depor are having brutal seasons. Valencia have gotten rid of Raneri so i am sure they will be back next season. Same with depor.

Both of those sides have players who still play with spirit and huge ambition to win things.

Real dont have this anymore. Raul is a shell of his old self, Zidane is getting old(still class). Figo is leaving in the summer along with Carlos. DOnt be too suprised to see ROnaldo go aswell. They need to off load most of their "galacticos". They are too much trouble then they are worth.

All this players seem to have lost all there desire to win things, and really care anymore. Its the presidents fault. He lets his players have far to much control and say.

If i was a WOlrd class manager i wouldnt touch madrid with a barge poll unless i got TOTAL control over the running of the team.

Perez is the main problem. He needs to butt out of the running of a club and let the manager run it. Look at the whole Ronaldo's engagement party. Luxemburgo told him not to have it, he whinged to Perez and he let him go. If a manager isnt allowed tell his players what to do, he will never succeed.

Posted by denys envy on Mar-15-2005 23:45:

look then i guess i have no idea what i'm talking about

i'm saying that it's quite an accomplishment to eliminate Real out of UCL, a tournament where they succeeded so many times, and are always in the knockout stage, and people are saying "no taht's bullshit, real sucks" they how they fuck did they ever even get to the point of having to play Juve, why is that team even in the UCL

I'm saying they're a great side and it's even better that Juve eliminated them, hating on Real just because of some personal reasons is bullshit, i would respect real every time i took field against them if i was a player because they ARE good and dangerous
