what is/are the most sought after record(s)?

as a vinyl addict and collector (and starting dj), i was wondering what trance record are the rarest and most sought after around.
for example, i saw lexicon 4 - reach me is very rare and is sold for some 132.50 euro's last week. and the auranaut - people want to be needed is worth a lot too

rules of suggesting and adding;
1) name/suggest like this; artist - title [label] (and if possible discogs link)
2) im only after trance
3) please only mention records that are on discogs
4) im only after 12", no cd's

rarest up till now;
hard to tell. on advise of some of the submissioners in this thread, i removed the nosferatu track, since it aint trance/progressive. its up to you to decide whats the most sought after 1/rarest 1 ... see the discogs account for that, for a complete oveview of all that has been submitted up till now: RareRecords

Find that on vinyl and you're doing pretty well. Find the Sunrise Remix and you holding gold my friend

Kuffdam & Plant - Summer Dream is very rare, in fact so rare it hasn't been released yet. Vandit are holding on to it before release later this year

The Quest - C Sharp has been rereleased (in about 2003 I think) as part of an ITWT annivesary edition [itwt350], so its not that rare anymore.

I think this topic has been covered more than Jenna Jameson's face

Actually there were a couple of releases of this song around back in 99. However it is the b-sides, Shaken Not Stired & Solitude which are sought after. You still have to pay minimum 2o pounds for the ITWT release.

You can add a few to that list which you probabaly also have to pay minimum 20 pounds for:

John Rees vs Helios - Beta Blocker
King Of Clubs - Revelation (ITWT)
Threesome - Mohave / Gobi (ITWT)
Yahel - Open Your Mind / Going Up [Black hole avanti]
Holden & Thompson - Nothing

and last week i say Midway - Monkey Island [ITWT] sell for 101 Euro! I think that was a one off though, it usually would sell for between 5-10 pounds. Dont ask me why people must have went nuts on it.

Thoes are the ones i dont see often, the others are around, on chemical and such every once in a while

i think dido & destination sunshine are the more expensive

man didn't know The quest - c sharp and Yahel - Going up are that sought after. i have them both on original releases and got them cheap. may sell them cheap as well if anyone still is interested :/

The Kuffdam & Plant - Summer Dream track was actually put out on a very limited promo. Above The Sky printed 10 copies up and they went off to a few magazines, I have one, Plant has one.... PVD has one, Armin has one..... the others I have no idea...

I think Tony Burt kept one for himself....

ATS was due to release the original and a remix last year but it fell through when Alphamagic went bust..... not much we could do...


So yes its pretty rare...


Although Tony put one on Ebay about 3 or 4 weeks ago and no one bought it lol..... I guess no-one was that bothered....

I don't think I have ever played my copy.... Just always spin it from CD.... no point really...

Maybe I should cash in lol...

Kuffdam - when are you guys going to spin in Aberdeen?
I'm studying there atm and would love to see you guys. Saw Eddie Halliwell in Subway a few weeks ago. Was awesome!

I actually just DJ on my own... Plant lives in Cyprus so its very hard for us to get together to do anything like that...

I am off to Cyprus in 2 weeks for a few events... I am playing with MIXFM radio station at an event for us.... its being held in one of the main clubs there called Club Treno on the 9th of April.

While I am there we will be finishing some new tracks which we have been working hard on.

We are going to try out a little PA as well I think... haven't confirmed this yet...

==> your wrong my friend. there are soem 50 promo releases, look at my first post, i mentioned 020 (the record label) relased it ... so its out already, and thats why ist rare, and also sought after, since everybody is screaming for a copy .. anyway, i see what u meand in the first place, it will be released on vandoit (i think) next month

Okay a few notes...

The Auranaut - People Want To Be Needed will indeed be re-pressed later on, but not on the Barracuda label (obviously)... but on Power Circle Records

Holden & Thompson - Nothing is not THAT rare.... the rarer of the releases I *think* is the Cookies & Cream 2x12"

Solar Stone - Solarcoaster is not THAT rare either... according to Discogs me and 178 other people have the record with the Midway Mix on it.

Some of the Black Hole records in the original post aren't exactly that rare... they are on eBay every other week. They are limited in quantity, true, and thus fetch a good amount of money... but records that are more rare (and not as well recognized) are on the bay all the time as well.

The Talisman & Hudson remix of Virus - Hypnotise was indeed never released so you won't even get a shitty 24 KBPS rip of it, sorry. There was a full release of the original, however, on one of Oakenfold's CDs from around that time (1997?) Good luck.

the rareest record i think i have is proabbly New Energy - Take your air (nu nrg air mix) on stik trance.... not many people have that one....


another rare one i think is ITWT 001 sampler 002 hard to find as well
