What game to buy ?

I'm bored these days and I find that there is a lack of big games these days; even demos. There isn't any good demo since splinter cell: chaos theory.
I would like to know if there was a good pc game to play (fps, rts,...)
What's your advice?

I'm going to buy SWAT 4 when it is released, you should try the demo:

Very good recommendation. Gorgeous game which some really amazing elements of reality.

I'd definitely advise you to purchase the current MMORPG's that are out. You'll really find yourself playing them for long periods at a time. Recommendations:

World of Warcraft
Lineage 2
Everquest 2
Guild Wars (will be released in about 20 days)

these arent the best, but the games ive been playing lately are:
C&C generals
Unreal Tournament 2004
Starcraft
and Ultima Online (in the free shards, of course! im not paying any $$ for that)

How's WoW? Is it as addictive as Diablo II?

World of Warcraft isn't nearly as addictive. However, it is a quality Blizzard production. Definitely try it out if you're willing to spend a monthly fee.

I want to buy HL2 because this game opens you the door to play cs, cs:s and more mods that base of hl engine.

HL� solo is really fun. I haven't really played online since HL� release.

yeah HL 2 is really neat in terms of graphics/engine, the story is nice, but not as thrilling as the first one

I tried SWAT 4. It remembers me the glory days of Rainbow Six (before its downfall ) The gameplay is good. The atmosphere and the graphics details are well rendered. My little Geforce3 is actually not so bad at all I can play in 1024*768 medium details, which is pretty good if you ask me
Is it already released?
By the way, I can't wait for Splinter cell 3. It's going to own Pandora Tomorrow

SWAT 4 is released around 7-8 of April. I was a SWAT 3 junkie back in the day so I'm definately going to pick this one up
I agree, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory was awesome, I haven't tried the other SC games before though..

I tried a point-and-click based game (much like Myst, Jack The Ripper and such) called Still Life, the graphics are awesome, good voicecharacters and it seems like a very realistic and exciting game. Try the demo:

Thx for your recommandations, mate. The only point & click game I tried is X-Files The game. I'll check it out.

Above average game.

However, I find SWAT 4 more exciting to play.

I've reinstalled Max Payne 2. That game rocks so hard & when you're in the zone it's so

The Punisher at Hard difficulty is pretty nice,im not saying that its the best game ever or something but its fun enough and like the oldschool unrealistic games.

Swat4 cant even reach Rainbow's balls in order to suck em'!
ive played the demo and IMO the game is stupid,you can't tell the diffrence between you and your enemies,youre always movind too slow and the game just does'nt provide the Counter strike level of action.

of course every game is shit compared to GTA

Please don't base an opinion around a demo you've played of a game.

Why compare to CS? It's not supposed to be like CS. It's supposed to be more realistic and thought-provoking. That's the point of the game. That doesn't mean that it's bad, however. Comparing the two is just plain silly.

Yea i know its not suppose to be exactly like CS,however the tactical way of thinking is similar to this game and a few other games...the only diffrence IMO is that this game seems to be very realistic but its not.
I don't think the game is "thought-provoking",i think that its a game where a few dudes are just walking horribly slow in this building bearely seeing whoose the enemy killing their teamates and killing their enemies by suprise and luck,the game is booooooring as hell!!

I think that the best settelment between counter and Swat will be Rainbow:Lockdown.

but thats my opinion,there's really no point of arguing...

If you can't see the difference between your teammates and the enemy perhaps you just need to raise your gamma value.

Whether you take it in a good way or a bad way, the addiction of World of Warcraft (WoW) is on par with Diablo 2. The upside is that the addiction is actually having tons of fun with tons to do. Not that Diablo 2 wasn't fun (it was insanely fun!) but once you play WoW, you realize how dated -- and simple -- Diablo 2 really is. I would highly suggest WoW for anyone really, regardless of whether they played mmos, rpgs, or nothing of the sort before. Blizzard did a wonderful job putting many different elements into the game, and beefed up the elements where mmos were lacking before. Not to mention Blizzard's high standards for itself, and the game being on-going (constantly will have new content, so the game evolves), which always make for great games.

Maybe youre right...
everything was so damn dark!
But that does'nt change a whole lot,the game is still booring in my eyes...

Tom Clancy is my only hope in this type of games...

First person shooters:

Half Life 2: amazing physics engine, fun to play through more than once, looks amazing.

Farcry: best looking first person shooter ever, very challenging.


Out of the two Farcry is the best looking and most challenging as well as the most realistic but HL2 is barrels of fun as well.

I agree, I really disliked Max Payne 2 as well, I found it pretty boring.
