Danny Howells @ HOB review

ok where exactly should i begin... well, lets start at the beginning of the night. so danny is supposed to start his set at 10:30 acording to the HOB website. i pull into the parking lot at about 10:45. scare the shit out of greg, cyn, rzo, and kelly by pounding on the car windows as i walk by it.

so we get to HOB and get in line (we are the first ones in line), but they arent letting anyone in. aparently the gay ass heavy metal band playing tonite went over their set time. we finally get into the club at around 11:30ish, only to see the curtains closed and no sign of danny. we find a spot up on the 2nd story balcony and wait. finally the curtains open at about 12:00 and we see who? yeah thats right, fucking gay ass orlando breaks DJ jimmy "i suck rhino cock" jostlin. who proceeded to spin the weakest most played out breaks set ever.

after about an hour of "i wanna kill myself" breaks, danny finally takes over the decks at about 1. he starts our with some very prog mellow house and after about an hour of that he just opens it up with some really funky, high energy shit and the whole place was rockin out. danny really spun a great set, but you know he was pissed that he didnt get to spin the 4+ hour set that he was planning on doing.

when he was done he came down to the edge of the stage to talk with the fans a sign autographs (like he usually does). he signed my and Rzo's GU posters which was sweet. while danny was chillin with the fans Jimmy "i like to eat monkey ass" jostlin gets back in the booth and starts talking on the mic. well, my drunk ass decides that im gonna tell this mother****** whats up and i start yelling at him taht he sucks and he needs to get new records and all that shit. well he pointed me out to the bouncers who werent the most polite folks. the one bouncer dude came up and started pushing me telling me to get out, which iwas happy to do since the music was over and my poster was allready signed.

all in all, tonite was just another example of why i hate HOB and the whole EBM scene in orlando. Jimmy "fuck me in the ass with a mack truck" jostlin should have never been on the damn stage. after waiting over an hour to get in, danny should have just hopped in there and rocked the place. as much as i wanna say that i will never go back there, i probably will only because they are the only place in town to bring in good names. but sooner or later they are gonna push me over the edge and im gonna bust out with some unibomber shit on their ass.

good times none-the-less.

PS. the new stage dancer with the long hair is really hot and makes me wanna to naughty things to her.

i knew he wouldn't end up going on til around then which i why i didn't go, would have to leave right when the main act is coming on... damn work!
what kills me is that tool joslin shoulda realized no one was there to hear him and been cool and let danny play the whole time. instead he had to get his hour in like a self centered dousche, and isn't the guy like 50? time to give it up buddy.

danny howells was awesome, he started a little chill but it didn't take long till he was ripping it up...definitely would not miss him at this point as the style he is playing atm is very good...i saw him 2 yrs ago and wasnt impressed but last night was way different...he is a very cool guy and we got our dope ass gu poster signed which was a highlight at the end of the night when he came off the stage to talk to us...definitely a cool night and was funny to watch phil blatently say to the opening dj before we left "breaks are done" and "fcuk you" he didnt appreciate that and had phil escorted by the bouncers..lol

Colleen has the pics. HOB sucks ass. Jimmy "spray it on my back" Jostlin was actually trying to get down off the stage and start something with phil, f-in cracks me up.

LOL i love the nick names for dj jimmy. Yes i have the pics but I will post them later on tonight.

yooooooooooo I had a blast with everyone last night, I couldnt stop movin and groovin to the housage, I loved it. Too bad he didnt go on earlier, you could tell as he was standing by behind jimmy the tool he was so anxious to get going!! The drinks were cheap and suprisingly strong..or maybe that was just the drink I had at Carlos's friends house beforehand, haha.

Here are the pics. They did not allow cameras in there, I dont even know how I got in with mine to be honest, but I was able to get a couple before danny went on, and a video, but the rest are when the lights went on and of us standing outside. Great to see you guys, Greg, Cyn, Rzo, Kelly, Phil, and Carlos, we missed you James. Im sure I'll run into Frederico at another show somewhere in the state LOL Enjoy, till the next time

Damn, I keep hearing more and more HOB horror stories. Jimmy "pounded in the ass with 12 inch cock" Joslin is beyond awful. The worst part, he holds four residencies and is the highest paid DJ in Orlando for spinning the shittiest of breaks and hip-hop.

More and more reasons why Orlando scene sucks. At least I have May 6 to look forward to.

yea, a bit dissapointing danny didn't start earlier but the set he played definitely made up for it. i've never seen jimmy "i want to go to prison just so i can get pounded in the ass" joslin live and i'm pissed that i had to listen to his shit before danny. i thought dj's had to have talent. seriously this guy was playing random shit that did not make any sense at all and his mixing reminding me of this one time when i saw this dog take a huge dump and licked it. that's exactly what jimmy "cavity search? how can i lose?!?!" joslin did. he thought it was good when it wasn't. when danny was about to go on, everybody started goin nuts and he started off with some good tracks and he just nailed every track after that. i wish hob had a better sound system cuz i was left wanting more oomph in the sound. maybe it was the system or maybe it was front of house. either way they need to fix their shit cuz from what everybody else is saying, that's the only place in orlando that is getting any good acts. i was looking forward to some good house that night and i got it thanks to danny. thanx to Greg, Cyn, Rzo, Kelly, Phil, for hangin out. you guys fucking rock and ya'll need to hang out more often. rzo, you'z a crazy dude. phil, we gotta beat up them guys hitting on colleen next time. i saw that 38 year old woman grinding on you kelly. she reminded me of the security screeners at the airport friskin people hehe. her boyfriend was getting jealous lol. colleen, you took some dope ass pictures and you met a lot of cool guys at the show <--sarcasm, that's something i need to take pictures of next time

Overall a great night! Danny Howells kicks ass. Although a lot of complaints about HOB I always have a good time when I go over there. Probably since I only go when a good DJ comes to Orlando. I can't stand the breaks there otherwise. I feel bad if Jimmy actually reads any of the posts about how good he is but I have to say I can't stand the music he plays. Funny stuff though.

Colleen, I am sure I will see you somewhere in the state. Great meeting you AGAIN and talking to you.

oh yea i guess i should post a little something too.... a little late due to the fact that i was nursing my hangover all day yesterday (kelly... you and i did such a good job on the free drinks!)

i had a really fun time, although i was really upset about having to hear jimmy "splooge in my eye" jostlin play his dusty old records from 2000 (kosheen-hide you?!?!?!?!?! WTF!??? that was a good song before greg and i were dating... stone ages)
danny howells spun a good set, but we only did get to hear half the set we expected. i only recognized one song from the new global underground cd... but all the alcohol erased my memory of what song it was
danny howells kissed my hand b/c i had nothing for him to sign, but then later i got him to sign my arm... as im sure you guys can see in the pics
overall it ended up being a pretty fun night that started out with a whole ton of glitches
nice meeting you carlos.... good seeing everyone else! a good time as usual!!!

You know, I can't speak for North Florida, but the scene here in Orlando has definitely come upon hard times. With all of this negativity, what do you expect. A scene isn't created by club owners or politicians or DJs. You make your own scene. You are responsible for its upkeep. Negativity adds to its demise. I'm not targeting you specifically, mdamon7278, but my posts on this board are few and far between because I see nothing but negativity and self-sustaining cliques on this board. I'm probably going to be hated for this, but if you people want something positive to happen here, go out and support your local DJs. Get involved with other local message boards. The scene where you live needs to be grown and nurtured.

There are so many talented people in this town who can rock your socks off, and they're never going to play on the ideal sound system for you to hear them on if they don't have your support. Did you guys know that there is actually a trance night in this town? Alex Sabre and Kevin Keith play at Red Square every Saturday night. They play kickass trance. For house fans, have you ever heard of Ernie Turner, Buckner, Sean Davis, Soulpatch, Agave, Rob Slac... man the list goes on. All of those guys are great at what they do, all different breeds of house. You don't know unless you support your local scene... and you wonder why Jimmy Joslin is the highest paid DJ in town? It's b/c the people who love the good music don't support it! It's not Jimmy's fault. He's what's hot, because what's hot is determined by who is spending money at the local venues. You all need to contribute to that.

My two cents... don't hate, participate!
