good stike but it couldn't have fell any better for him.

Posted by noikeee on Apr-25-2005 11:49:

rooney seems to shoot better outside of the box than inside

Rubbish, that is an incredibly difficult shot and it was completely out of knowhere. Most strikers could try to do that all day and still not hit it as sweetly as that. I was in line with Rooney when he shot and the speed at which the ball travelled was rediculous.

Posted by chesco on Apr-25-2005 12:04:

Em, at which point in my sentence did i say it wasn't a difficult skill??

All's i'm saying is that it fell beautifuly for him hence the reason it looked so spectacular.

Posted by Kato on Apr-25-2005 12:11:

By saying it couldn't have fell any better for him implies that it was easy.

Posted by chesco on Apr-25-2005 12:37:

No it implies that it was set up perfectly for him, it's still a difficult skill tho.

It was simply amazing, stunning, great etc.!!!

The goal reminded me of Tony Yaboah's goal for Leeds that hit the underside of the bar and went in a while ago. Fantastic goal, and if you watched the game, you will know that Newcastle were defending really well and i couldnt see where a goal was coming from.

Thats why they paid so much for Rooney, not many people could do that!

Yup sweet goal

Safri's goal was very nice, but Rooney's was apocaliptic, I'm not not sure Ive ever seen a volley executed as sweetly as that.

Unhappy

Meh, it had to be against Newcastle didnt it, fs

Zidanes volley in the champions league final was harder to execute, he had to generate the power in the shot himself as he hit it standing and side on. Rooney was running towards a ball coming straight back at him, all he had to do was hit the target and the power would take care of itself! Still a cracking strike though.

Posted by chesco on Apr-26-2005 12:35:

I'm glad someone else said it.

It's a great goal - but describing it with words like, apocolyptic is going way overboard.

Rasta

You people talk here like you are all professional soccer players! Rooney's goal is sheer fucking class. Talking about skill here, woah, that is some tremendous skill!!! To possess a powerful kick from a volley like that, it doesn't come everyday to a player's leg.

Posted by noikeee on Apr-27-2005 10:53:

look dude. certainly nobody on here has anywhere near the footballing qualities of rooney. also that was certainly a great goal and while the ball came perfectly to him, it was an excellent kick. however, it's just one goal in some premiership match when man utd doesn't even have anymore chances of winning the title. it's not like this caused rooney to suddenly became humanity's biggest hero ever.

Since when did you have to be a professional football player to pass comment on a goal??

Posted by bluE_Neon on Apr-27-2005 15:32:

Listen buddies, the on-going battle between Man Utd and rival clubs is known for years. It's not my fight and I don't even want to contribute to it. I was beign sarcastic about that comment I made, hence the (lol) smilie. You guys don't have a sense of humour?
But let's take a look at this goal and forget about all the football politics. Rooney has tremendous skill and it doesn't matter for what club he play's. I just appreciate skill like that
