[Commercial/clubby] Yarune - Eigenleids (Club Mix) + VOCAL VERSION
Heey!
I have some trips into commercial sounding things and this is such a trip.. I'm making this for the introduction week of the Leiden University this summer. Only thing missing is some short vocals, but they'll be in Dutch so you won't miss 'em.
On my new studio monitors this sounds pretty ok, but I need you guys to point out if there's any bugs or bad sounding things. This is an alive and happy sounding track (at least.. it was meant to be alive and happy) so let your day be brightened by this!
Link: Yarune - Eigenleids (Club Mix)
3:58 | 130 bpm | +- 3,5 mb
Enjoy and have a shiny day now!
*** EDIT ***
Here is a sample of the version with the dutch vocals. Just a sample, cause most of you don't understand dutch anyway. :P It's a nice listen tho, we're satisfied about the result, so have a try!
VOCAL VERSION (sample)
what's the thing with the phone?
nice production man, nice use of fx, I like that kick thingy.
very commercial stuff
but it's ok.
Thanks ronk!!
Glad you like.
The phone completely fits in the pig-headed theme, and the vocals coming will be partly "telephone sounding" vocals.. that's the idea.
haha, Yarune, this is even worse than my African Trance production
Kiddin', it's pretty funny and commercially m8! Actually, I am pretty curious to the dutch vocals by now
I'll check out your website when the vocals are added
Kickdrum is...uhm.. a bit to woofy for my taste
Wow, this is special music. Not something you hear everyday. I can hear the bass is clipping at some places... It's very low
Overall, a funky track. It has got a catchy feel to it, and I liked it

Hey Jay,
Fun toon! I like the lil bit of funk the bass adds..
The kick sounds a bit too bassey <-- hope that makes sense.
I think the low end all around needs a bit of EQing..
Great use of FX! And I like your percs.. lots of bounce.
good stuff - different!
Keep well,
Trev
Good fun and well made, had a slight 80's feel to it but hey it's all about fun so good job.
Cheers
Nem
Sounds cool! Bouncy stuff.. nice production also - missing an instrument / voice in centre at times..
listenings on headphones, so dont know about the lowend.. rest sounds good!
Keep it up
- J.
Very nice production, I like the flute sounds, however I dislike that ring phone sound.
Thanks guys!

True hehe, thanks Peter!
Hey,
Listening ....... Woo Woo I wanna study! :P, Very comercial and funky Style, not bad at all, sounds also a bit 80's. Made me remember the soundtracks in those 80's movies, where a girl is in NY checking stores out and that shit
.
Very nice shiat to listen to, diferent, keep it up man
.
Kopi =o.
This is some serious cheese. Very well produced though and even though its complete vintage blue, somehow manages to retain a sembelance of dignity through the use of original and retro sounds.
Interesting... and well done for what it is.
hey Yay
downloading, will listen it in the afternoon...
im going to school now
Some interesting effects. Nice percussion drive, could be a bit more hifi imo (the toms i mean). Good bass and nice melodies (well, not really my cup of tea, i'm getting far too happy now
). The idea with the telephone is nice (a bit like The Telephone Call by Kraftwerk). All in all, a good sounding production. Should be interesting to hear the dutch vocals.

in a kinda way its funny. Its not my style but i like it..
Well done!
Mr Marcellos
Cheers guys, nice to see people respect my clubby things hehe

Hey! I have an idea....make this one darker, a bit faster (140bpm tops) and change the bassline into a driving one, and you'll have yourself some funky shit!
Let's stay at judging this mix, though.
The sounds are very nice, I'm also listening through headphones right now, so can't say much about the bass, although it does seem very powerful. The telephone isn't quite my taste, but the main synth is lovely...makes me wanna start partying right away...
Nicely done, truly.
Tommi
hmm not really my style jay
but it sounds very cool and funny.. clear stuff

Loving that fat low end. Very good for clubs.
Sometimes your bass sounds more like somebody clearing his throat than an actual musical element. Might want to go for more tonality out of that there.
That telephone ring is creative. I like.
Hehehe.. Hey how did you know I raped the sample of a throad clearing dude for my bass
Thanks for the comment.
