Amateur Production (Help)
I just got fruity loops, and i Woudl like to open a song and try to remix it.
not just remix it, but i would like to hjave an idea of how are they composed
do they need to be in .wav or .m3 or i need transfrom it ina nother format to open it with fruitty loops.
Thanks--

i have no idea what you're saying, but the answer will probably be here
as I see it, I would recommend an english course or a computer course maybe even more
I have no problem understading
He wants to know can he open a mp3/Wav file in FL to remix it, or could he convert one so it will have its structure intact through FL
Bassically you cant, you need a FLP file, its the file type that FL uses

| Originally posted by Shane Tighe dont listen to these jack ass's in here. first, you need to get something better than fruity loops. if you're going to start producing and spending the time learning, at least get cubase. its hard to learn, but you will learn and be able to make quality tracks. also, if you want to remix a track, why dont you just email the artist and ask for the original wav files. you cant take a track and sample sounds out. it sounds like garbage, and quite frankly, it doesnt work! once you learn mastering you'll understand why. but just to give you and idea.... when a track is produced, there can be up to 50 separate channels (maybe more) and when the final mixdown is done, they take all of the channels and mix them into one. can you imagine tring to separate all of those to get sounds and filter out all the other files? its useless to try. no track is ever done in fruity loops by any big producer my friend. you need to learn with the big boys, and then you'll be happier you took the time to go with the good stuff. good luck and enjoy producing. ![]() cheers, Shane www.shanetighe.ca |

I personally think someone who would even make a comment like that has their head even more far up their ass. But what do I know. Im just a dj. Oh wait a second, I forgot I produce as well
One last thing Analog Artisan,
When you make a stupid comment insulting dj's, you have to keep in mind that about 80% of the people in trance addict are dj's, and you dont just insult me, but you may insult many more people. You never know... your mom could be a dj
jackass
Dont worry hes only upset becuase he went and bought cubase and it took him forever to make a track when it takes people a day in fruity.
Why becuase
easy to use
much more going for it
and it doesnt look shitty and bland like most software ou thtere.
it actually makes you wanna produce its almost like a video game its fun easy and exciting and by the way..
Fruity is one of the most advanced softwares out there that offers so much for so less.
are u gonna tell me my alesis micron sucks becuase id didnt pay top dollar for it and becuase its small.
lmao flstudio inm y opinion is by far one of the best softwares for production out there end of story.
You are right about fruity loops, it is good, but after you really get involved in producing, i just dont think its as capable of more advanced production features. at any rate, this thread is going in a terrible direction and Im not one to sit and fight all day, so how about we all agree that we like the software we like and thats it
cheers
and just for the record, I used to use fruity loops yrs ago and for quite a while. and truth be told, i can make a track in 8 hrs on cubase from begining to end.
peace
sure
ok fine but remember tell me what other software can do thats truly usefull that fruity cant.
becuase from were im standing i dont see much.
FLS is a very good starter program but branching off in to cubase gives u alot more options hardware wize.

no problem I mean here at J&C we got back to fruity loops everynow and then when we have a track on deadline but most of the time we work in cubase
well
If you like it fine.
I personally have been into cubase a few years back and didnt see anything i liked it was rather bland and took forever to get something going.
I think everyone is making fair and valid points. I just learned to use cubase and now I am able to write a rough track within hrs. but everyone is different. i think it also depends on your mood. you could lay down a track in fruity in 5 hrs on a good day, but if you cant think straight, it could take you 5 weeks. its all about your mood and how much you are into it at that very moment.
cheers
i hate that
I hate when it takes long personally if i cant finish within same day i scrap it.
i lose the vibe u have to be into what ur doing and on diffrent days my vibe is diffrent.I just love to get deep into a mix and be like.
"you know what would sound good here"
and in seconds you find that sound and belt out whatever your aiming for its great.
