Concerts
what concerts have you been to? were they good? and which ones do u want to go to? i'm talking about non edm...
first concert i ever went to when i was 4 was Heart with my mom and aunt. hahah i used to love that band, i knew all the words to their songs.
then i'm guilty of seeing NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK when i was 10 or 11 (N.K.O.T.B)...shit i'm even guilty of having an NKOTB beach towel and posters of jordan and joey. hahhaa
then i went to the Genesis concert with my dad and my sister when i was in middle school. that was kinda cool, but i fell asleep at the end.
then the next one was in 9th grade. i went to that Lillith Fair concert with Sarah M., Natalie Merchant, Queen Latifah and a couple of other lezbo singers. i just went for sarah cuz she was a favorite artist of mine at the time. that was fun but i didn't realize it was a big thing for gays. i was like, "oh wow, there's a lot of lesbians here huh" then my friend was like duh...that friend later confessed she was gay and in love with me in high school. memories!
then i didn't go to any concerts for a really long time. then last year i went to a bunch and a couple this year.
saw Prince recently who i had no desire to see, but it was free and the seats were good so we went. it ended up being fun. he is extremely talented and i was impressed. the guy can walk around stage and go up to any instrument and just start jaming out. that is talent, i dno't care how faggy he is.
then we had 4th row & club level (way up high where there is catered free food and booze) to Metallica a few months ago...we ended up with someone's tickets on top of our own (also free). so we went to the club level for free food and booze during Godsmack (they opened for Metallica), then we went down to the front for the rest. i personally enjoyed Godsmack more, but whatever. Metallica is great, but i don't like their old heavy metal stuff.
and then the most recent one i went to was Motley Crue. hahahah oh my god, that was interesting to say the least.
and that's all she wrote.
i would really like to go to U2 and some other bands like System of a Down or Chavelle or one of those tours that has like several bands at once...that would be cool.
i really haven't been to too many concerts...
first concert ever was Garbage back for the tour of their first CD...i think i was what? like 14-15ish? maybe...i know i couldn't drive yet hehe...best concert evar!! sooo fantastic....
then i saw Blondie once...that was pretty cool hehehe, but there were of course a lot of older people there and so they were pushy and rude
...still around that same age...15-16ish...
i saw lords of acid hahaha around the same age...15ish i think. once again still couldn't drive so. interesting experience to say the least hahaha...
then i saw garbage again for their second cd...awesome once again...
then my most recent concert was a bjork concert. on man...fantastic...really special for me.
and that's about it...i should go to some more sometime....also really wanna see U2...who are actually in town here very soon...but my god its soooo expensive.
latest was wu-tang last november..
I saw Journey 2wice, both great shows, I loved that band since I was 3 years old.
I say Lords of Acid in 2001 & it was a fucking amazing show.
Korn & NIN back in 2000 & they were great.
NIN in 1995 & was spectaular.
White Zombie/Pantera in 1996, the craziest shit ive ever been a part of. Sickly violent pits. crazy burnout headbangers everywhere.
i saw phish 17 or 18 times between 1996 and 2002.
others over the last 10 years: pearl jam, counting crows, fiona apple, david bowie, phil and friends, allman brothers, moe, galactic, string cheese incident, other smaller bands i cant remember...

I havn't really seen any big rock bands since Smashing Pumpkins like in 2000

best concerts i've seen...
Incubus @ Roseland Ballroom, NYC in 2001 - this concert was the saturday after 9/11 and my ex-bf and i had tickets, we thought for sure it would get cancelled but Incubus decided to keep it going and they donated all their profits to Red Cross and other organizations... we had gone into the city earlier to walk down to ground zero and by the time we got to the venue i was just feeling so sick. i almost threw up a few times and i kept trying to sit down but security wouldn't let me sit anywhere... the concert was sold-out and the emotion was just amazing. Incubus did a really amazing job of trying to lift people's spirits with music after such a disaster.
Zwan @ The Rave in 2002 (before they broke up) - AMAZING concert, and i don't even like Billy Corgan's voice, but musically they were really amazing
311 @ Summerfest grounds in 2003 - they played an outside concert @ the Summerfest grounds but not during Summerfest... they are imo, the best live band i've ever seen, they just totally know how to work the crowd. coolest thing was when they brought out all these steel drums and the whole band was playing drums together.
Dream Theater @ The Rave in 2003 - another amazing band to see live, i remember being really sick when i saw them, all doped up on cold pills... just watching their keyboardist is mindblowing.
i've seen tons of other bands but those are just the ones that stick out as the best. i usually don't see a lot of concerts all year until Summerfest, unless there are bands that i REALLY want to see.
the last concert i went to was Gaelic Storm in Chicago for St Pattys day this year, and the next concert i am going to is Keane (this wednesday).
i can say i've been to one concert in my entire life. that was limp bizkit febuary 2004. i went because my gf was going and i got someones ticket that dropped out.....
the warm up was okay, just drank a couple of pints in the middle thinking, yeah not too bad, them getting booed off was alright. then the main thing came in....me being used to raves this is the total opposite, moshing is beyond me :/
after about 5 mins of trying to put up with it i left my gf and her bro and went to the bar at the back and got sloshed :P
edit: behind blue eyes is still a nice song

Concerts can cause severe hearing damage, I do not suggest any of you attend them.

A the last Big Day out I saw System of a Down, Slipknot, Beastie Boy & Powderfinger.
Previously ive been to see Korn, Spiderbait, Tool, Limpbizkit, & Opeth live. Out of those the Opeth & Tool concerts where the best. Opeth are just amazing musicians. Tool was pretty good, though Maynard spent the whole time behind a shadow screen.
