No Michael Jackson thread yet?

I'm quite surprised... or blind. What's everyone think? I personally don't care whether the man gets punished for anything, and don't know if he's explicitly guilty of the charges against him. However, I do feel strongly that his conduct with little boys is anything but innocent.

BTW, why can't MJ ever go to the beach?

Cause he always ends up in someone else's son.

Thought, I'd share that with you.

Posted by scamsel on Jun-14-2005 02:21:

ha, i care, if he did it he should be punished. but i can't imagine the jury was so stupid they would find him not guilty if it was obvious he was guilty. so i have to conclude he is innocent.

I was really shocked as well. I listened to it on the radio on the way home....when they said not guilt I was like WTF. I thought fo sho he was going down.

Posted by EWreckedSean on Jun-14-2005 02:35:

The prosecution screwed the pooch on this one. Their "witnesses" were way do shady to remove reasonable doubt. They didn't bring anybody to the stand that didn't have an alternate agenda against MJ.

Who cares. We got much more important things to worry about...

1) War In Iraq

2) The Economy

3) Global Warming

4) The Environment

5) Gas prices

This is just retarded. I understand it's a news story and all, but it doesn't deserve all the hype and attention it has gotten. This just diverts our attention from more imporant issues. Sad

yeah i mean, when you come to think about it, who the fuck cares what happens to michael jackson..its not our life...its his..

They were just interviewing one of the jurors on cnn & he said, "I believe MJ has molested little boys, there just wasn't enough evidence to convict him." Fukin wacko jacko

I know right?!?! Make a Global Warming thread.. you guys dont know that Florida will be under water because of this in a couple of decades.. BLAH!!

As for Michael Jackson.. that guy has some mental problems, and that can be clearly seen.. but for the people accusing him, all they want is the money... they tried to rip off other big company's before ( it was either GM or FORD ).. besides a big Chain store ( JC penny I think it was )... so they got a long as record on suing for money... and what a surprise.. Michael Jackson now.. if there's justice, let it be true justice, Im skeptical this was even fair to judge michael jackson, cause Im sure it was all for the money and not justice..

Holy shit someone who makes sense here! (you too Felipe) Seriously we have many more important issues in this God forsaken country than who is sucking off Jackson...case in point: he is filthy rich and we all clearly KNOW that rich celebrities get a slap on the hand. This won't change so don't be so shocked. This isn't any bigger than the OJ case and him being "innocent" when everyone knows the fuckbag did it. To have money is to literally get away with murder...no difference.

So how about we make important threads because gas prices, the environment, the war, and economy do not affect the rich, they affect us middle class people and these are things WE should focus on. Our country is going to hell and the only thing people worry about is which pedophile celebrity is innocent or guilty?

1. Ummmmmmm, im not up for ANY michael jackson thread, not even in the c0r. but i do think the world should care about a little boy being sexually abused by some sick bastard.

not just MJ, but every sick bastard and every child being abused. That's some serious shit. (but like i said, i am opposed to any MJ thread. I hate the guy)

2. Sure, those kind of threads sound good. But i guess we do have those kinda thread already. i.e. the politics forum, and c0r (yes, the cor has its intelligent moments, albiet harldy ever)

3. Wtf!!! seriously?!?! I guess I didn't get the memo

The problem is all the attention this particular case got. Why is it so different from any other child molestation case out there? Don't get me wrong, anyone who abuses a child deserves to be punished severely!!! But in the big picture, there a bigger problems we could have been focusing more attention on than on wacko jacko. Again, this is just what is wrong with the media. We have people dying everyday in Iraq yet we are wondering what is going on in a court room saga over some famous guy. Our priorities are out of whack and it's sad; Divert our attention from bigger, more important issues.

dude, thats life....

the media has a hold on what we see, what we read, everything

it's called agenda setting.

There's absolutely nothing we can do about it.

My point isn't against this thread, it's just against michael jackson as a person.

regardless, there are more important things going on in this world..

but let's think about this: which do you think has more discussion between people in the world........the war, or who's gonna win the next American Idol?

1. I totally agree, yes it's wrong for children to be sexually abused and it's sick but why is the MJ thing so huge? What makes it so different than Bill Kamal or the guys who raped and killed two Florida girls. Those got media coverage for like 3.5 seconds and were more severe. Even the priest in the church who had been molesting children so long. Yes the world should care 10000% but not only about MJ who we all knew was going to be found NOT guilty, come on celebrities have it made easy and it's wrong but that's the way things are in this country.

2. Those threads rock!

3. Unless you're in total denial then you'd know how bad our country is. lol but you're smarter than that Javi so you should know.

i love this number format we got goin' on

1) the reason why it's different is because it's MICHAEL JACKSON. If it was Mr. Dick N. Balls I wouldn't give a shit. lol and neither would the rest of the world, for that matter.
If it's some unknown, then it's like "oh no, what a horrible man"
if it's someone famous, some person that has been looked up to by millions (and let's face it, as much as i have always hated MJ and his music, he is one of the most famous artists of all time) then people are gonna care. The media will have its field day. THe agenda setting is run by media conglomerates that think "ok whats going to make us money?"
Answer= what people like
and what do people just LOOOOVVVEEEE?!?!

not death, thats sad.
not the latest issue on global warming (go on, repeat the same news over and over again, nobody is gonna listen, and everybody is still going to drive their cars to get to the wendy's a block away)

people love DRAMA! GOSSIP!

and so the media gives you just that. Magazines, newspapers, tv, radio- it's all agenda setting.

as much as we can complain about it....we let them do it.

2. indeed

and lastly

3. I don't think this country is going to hell. It's been far worse before and it's in better shape than a shit ton of other places in this world. So i think we're ok. This world isn't perfect, let alone the States.

and you know what? It never will be.
