Ferry Corsten at the Amphitheater review & pics!
I'm too tired to do an actual review right now. I only slept for 45 minutes before going into work yesterday morning after the Orlando show and then took a 3 hour nap before going tonight.
Anyways...
It was a good TA turnout and the vibe in the Amp tonight was unreal. No question that Ferry owned the Amp. Tonight goes down in the book for me as one of the best clubbing nights EVER! Colleen knows what I'm talking about. Being able to be onstage right next to Ferry and absorb all of the energy that he exudes was just amazing. I don't think any of us could stop smiling. It was awesome having my best frined, Paul, and close friend, Suzy, open for my favorite DJ. I loved the pictures and shirts that my brother, Matt, did with that Lord Ferry picture. Ferry loved them and said that the picture was the best picture that anyone has ever taken of him.
It was a pleasure finally getting to meet and hang out with Ferry's wife, Lia. She was a little quiet at Zinc in Orlando, but she really came out of her shell around us tonight. I had an awesome time hanging out with Ferry after the club closed (while still onstage) and then afterwards at Paul's house. Thank you, Paul, for hosting that little get together and having Ferry and Lia over. I'll be posting pics from Space, Zinc, and the Amp soon. Off to bed I go!

werd!! the guy is EXTREMELY down to earth and humble unlike many big name dj's. he said he was flying out to san diego today but still managed to come hang with us, his fans, for a while after the show.
THANK YOU FERRY!!!!
I'll let Amber make the full & proper review, but suffice to say I had the best clubbing experience of my life, bar none. He owned the Amp, just blew it up. Big ups to the Amp, Mondo, Santana and Suzy Solar for putting on a truly special night. What made it even more special was Ferry himself. Ferry is every bit as gracious as he is talented. He loves his fans and that's why we love him back. As for me, the first thing I'm doing today is getting the best picture frame I can find. Why? Ferry gave me something that's simply magical. See below.

Best pic ever? Wow.
wow thats awesome
I'm going to have to agree with Amber on that "One of the Best Nights Clubbing" theme
I said that the Orlando show was my fav, but ummmm Im gonna have to say that this night was THE BEST. Amber and I were commenting on this during our complete awe and disbelief while she was taking the best pics and vids ever of Ferry while hanging on stage with him. The huge hug I got from him when I first walked up there, gave me a permanent smile. Yes Amphitheater only allows shorter sets, but you know what..the friggin vibe and energy in there was the best I have ever experienced.
Santana and Suzy, you guys did an incredible job of opening. I just loved watching you guys up there. We were all so excited and it showed. Excellent track selection from both of you.
And yes Ferry Afterparty 3.0 took place. He is so friggin hilarious. Carlos got some kick ass pics from Paul's. Post em biotch!! Thank you so much Paul for ALL you did last night.
And thank you to those who took extra pics knowing I did not have my cam!!!
Amber, my god your vids, HOST AND POST ASAP!!!!!!!!
Awesome, as always, being with everyone, and meeting all the new people (those who read TA all the time
)

Ouch
I have no business being at work after that mayham last night. holy crap! Set was awsome, very similar to the set he played at avalon in nyc last year. He spanked us!
We all forgot to mention that the Amp let Ferry go over the time he was supposed to spin until. They were the ones that encouraged him to keep playing. If you looked at the time it was after 3am when he finished. Ummm...ooops. hehe
Ferry's little teaser at the end was the best. I've never seen him do that before.
I've never seen the Amp full of that kind of energy. Apologies to anyone that I didn't spend a lot of time with. My brain was a little preoccupied with my favorite artist. It's just like Lia was saying about Ferry...people are so naturally drawn to him that they just can't help but want to be around him. It's true. I love Ferry for being who he is and I hope the man never changes. When I'm around him I can't help but smile. Permanent smile indeed.

Man what a night. I got there a little after midnight, and I couldnt believe that Ferry was already on stage. He absolutely tore the roof off. He started with more melodic prog trance
and then moved onto more banging trance with that electro sound that he loves. It was truly a journey through trance that he took us through last night. It was also cool as hell how John Santoro(?) had Ferry play one last track well after the club was already closed. Ferry ended with Punk. His first encore was Rock Your Body Rock (Ferry Corsten remix) and the second encore was William Orbit-Adagio For Strings (Ferry Corsten remix)
. He also played Right of Way sometime during the night, and my favorite at the moment, Above and Beyond vs Andy Moor-Air For Life. I actually went up to Ferry at the end of the night and thanked him for playing Air For Life. He was telling me how much he loved that track too. I know theres a lot of other tracks he played, I just cant remember them off the top of my head right now. Paul it was cool meeting you outside before I went in. You never actually told me what you were showing me on your camera phone, lol. I know you were busy on your walkie talkie so its all cool.
im alive people... amazing that that can be true even... im still wasted.. its 125pm..
Ferry had a sick set. Around 1:45 dropped a bunch of tracks I'd never heard. I love it when a DJ does that. As much as I love hearing my faves, the Ferrys of the world take me places with tracks I've never heard and may never again.
I'm still in Orlando, people....nothing but good times with you all...good times and good people...going home later.
Pics and reviews when I get back, but I have to say Ferry is the friendliest, most down-to-earth DJ I have ever met and I'm so grateful to him for always playing MY song...freaked out 2 nights in a row. AMP was SOOOOO good...the new cryo setup is awesome and it wasn't too crowded at all. The only complaint was thsi lamer stringer right by us who wasn't watching his stringing and damn near hit people a few times. Dumbfuck.

Once close to the exit in a circle of people, another time close to the entrance right infront of the mirror, with litterally no one there

Wooooo! What a night.
Definitely a night to be remembered in the greatest night of Tampa Bay! Suzy and I were so excited to be able to open for Ferry. We were having trouble deciding who would actually have the opening set. So, we agreed to do a tag team set. In the whole hour we got to spin both of us played twice. About 10 minutes before Ferry was to start the big screen lowered so the crowd would know its about that time. When Ferry entered the stage area people immediately began giving him a warm welcome. As mentioned above Ferry was extremely down to earth and humble. Over the years Ive met hundreds of djs and have never met anyone so sociable to everyone there. Pics, autographs, hand shakes. Even while spinning he would find the time to take a picture or sign an autograph.
Ferrys set was 100% trance in your face. He started with some classics that had the hair on my arms standing straight up. As his set progressed played some new titles and of course some Ferry Corsten hits. There was only one other time at the AMP that came close to the vibe Ferry was carrying. Ferry owned the room last night.
After we headed over to Paul G.s house and chilled there for a little. (Thanks Paul, for letting us invade your home.) Alison (my wife) and I had the opportunity to sit and chat with Lia Corsten, who was so sweet. We talked about Ferry, where he came from and where hes been, how he got started in all this craziness. She definitely inspired me to keep up with producing. People there took lots of pictures and did some shots of who knows what. At about 5am I was feeling a little beat so Alison and I headed home.
I hope everyone had a great time. Definitely a night I will never forget. Ferry you are a genuine guy. Keep up the good work. Alison and I wish you and Lia all the best. I look forward to seeing you more often in the near future. Suzy, it was so fun mixing with you. We should do it again (how about in September?). Mondo & Paul G, Thanks for having me at this event. I hope there will be many more.
