Why does almost everyone think that Tiesto suck?
Recently, I have been reading a lot of comments about DJ Tiesto and it appeared to me that a lot of people are convinced that Tiesto sucks. Why does almost everyone feel so negative regarding this DJ? He plays a very good trance music; definately, not all his sets are perfect but most of them are very high quality. He has amazing shows where people just go crazy and etc... What is so bad about Tiesto? If Tiesto sucks, then what DJ does not?
Cause people think it's cool to say he sucks.. makes them think they are really part of a leet group of nerds.
Who cares who likes who... just go your own way and enjoy what you're doing.
BECAUSE HE DOES , DUDE, TIESTO SUCKS .
I'm not saying that he plays bad music, but AS A D.J. HE LOST IT WAY BACK IN 2000
HE'S GOOD AT REMIXING AND THE SCUCH BUT HE IS A PIECE OF CRAP OVERRATED DJ. . THATS ALL
PEACE.

I respect Tisto alot, what he has done to the trance scene has been amazing, his unique style of productions and remixes is amazing! As a DJ his not so good but i still love tiesto, and cant fucking stand people dissing him just because its cool to diss him. His always gonna be in the top list of trance producers/djs in my lists.

Originally posted by BatteryMan Agreed. Don't get me wrong...Tiesto is one of the first trance DJs that I got into, so he sort of brought me over to trance. But after a couple years of getting into trance, I finally saw him, and he DID suck. He DOES suck, and likely will continue to do so. I see no reason why he is rated #1 DJ in the world. Not only that, he's an arrogant prick. When seeing him, I put a record on stage next to the DJ booth asking him to play it...not only that, it was one of HIS productions (A Tear in the Open, if you're interested in what record). He stepped on the record, and shot me a glance to let me know it was intentional...he didn't even look to realize I was asking him to play one of his own records. But that's beside the point...the point is, he sucks. And the world is realizing that. I would not be the least bit surprised if he fell from the number one spot for top DJ of 2005...I would not be the least bit surprised if he fell FAR from the #1 spot. Tiesto sucks. Plain and simple.
Tiesto is nothing more then a name these days. He can get away with half ass dj'ing and people stil love em!
With success comes the inevitable hatred
Whatever; I think it's great what he's done for the EDM scene.
i don't hate tiesto, i give him mad props for playing some unbelievable bullshit and making bank on it$$$$$$
I too feel that Tiesto is a subpar DJ. His compilations are somewhat weird to begin with, they're like their own genre of trance..take a small peek of how Tiesto remixed Motorcycle's - As the Rush Comes....
I think the only reason Tiesto has gotten so much hype is due to Armin van Buuren featuring his compilations and remixes on his A State of Trance shows and such, along with Paul Oakenfold featuring his goodies too. Personally, I think Tiesto is a cling-on to famous DJ's, an imitator, not an originator. Ah well, not the DJ for me.

well it is widely known to anyone that has ever met Tiesto that he is the biggest Asshole to ever spin a record
. I really like his remixes and love his latest production. However, i dont think he deserves to be the number one DJ for sure. And can think on top of my head of at least 7 DJ that are better than him. I have been to my share of parties, with top notch DJs. Tiesto ranked among the worse in my humble opinion in terms of "moving the crowd" at least. And that alone in my opinion is one of the most important things for a real DJ!
I'd rank Markus, DeepDish, AvB, PvD as the top DJ in terms of giving the crowd what they want!

Paul Van Dyk does a way better job of that than I've EVER seen or heard Tiesto do
I think that Paul Van Dyk is the DJ who does not deserve to be #2. I've been 3 times on his shows during the last 3 month; and I can say that compare to Tiesto or even Ferry Corsten, this German is a way below (in my opinion). But what I most do not like about Paul Van Dyk is his fucked up attitude toward the crowd and other DJ's.
I've only seen the guy once, and it was the best show I've ever been to. I was completely sober, but felt as high as I possibly could have been.
I will grant you that he does tend to make minor mistakes in his sets, as all DJs do, but he's great when it comes to quickly fixing these mistakes (such as re-matching the beats, etc).
I have heard from a friend of mine that he met Paul Van Dyk, and that PVD was a complete cock. I can't give a similar experience, because I did not actually meet him. But when Tiesto came to Seattle, he had his fucking girlfriend go out and round up all of the things for him to sign...no personal connection with the crowd. Paul Van Dyk was at LEAST cool enough to do it himself, and did not appear to be a dick about it.

The rudest DJ i have ever met is Tiesto, the nicest is a close call between the DeepDish folks and AvB. They make thier fans feel like they knew em for hundreds of years. I remember spending about 15 minutes just chatting like old friends with AvB at a party in Egypt, couple of weeks ago. DeepDish are equally cool too, and really respect their fans.

I have never met AvB or DeepDish fellas and I can't say how nice they are to their fans; but to say that Tiesto is the rudest DJ is just ridiculous...
