2005-6 NFL Training Camp and Preseason Thread

might as well do it, since training camp is about to start, and oh my god! .. 1 and a half months until super sunday takes effect .. hahhahaha ..

anyways .. any predictions on how this season will go ? i think new england will not repeat, and may not make the playoffs, depending on the chemistry between ol' college folks brady and terrell .. they don't click, then a lot of emphasis with dillon... but missing their def and off coordinators hurts a lot.

i have mixed feelings about the titans recently signing travis henry. it is still steve mcnair's football team, and if he goes down, the whole team goes with him.

oh yeah ... and go saints!

Posted by Eddie N MIAMI on Jul-20-2005 18:41:

hey Leopold who is the guy in your avatar?

Hell Yeah! a NFL thread at last

So my Dolphins are goin through a big change, and the biggest news from our team is that we got Ricky Williams back . I have no idea in what condition playing wise he is now but I just hope for the best, and that he'll give Ronnie Brown some less workload.
Also there will be a QB battle between Feeley and Ferrotte.

that travis henry sign to the Titans was very good
Kerry Collins is expected to pick up like he was doing last year, especially now since he has Randy Moss.
So like always lets see which big star gets injured during training camp/ preseason.
ill post my prediction later

Isnt that Sierra Mist?

Alsol NFL Preseason is the worst of all sports. Cant wait til the 1st week though. Wonder who will be the biggest name to get injured for a long time. I say....Mike Vick

or any of rosenhaus's other holdouts...

javon walker had an awesome year last year...and while i do think that he is underpaid, he did sign the contract. i could see having two really good years and then bitching about your pay, but only after one good season, i'd tell him to prove it to me again...then we'll talk

.. couldnt find a better pic of her (although i still find this one hot!) .. hahhaha .. 'the princess is here!' .. ciara .. ..

anyways, back to topic .. not much talk going on about saints football here .. most news about the health of deuce, and how things will be different than last year .. then again, that's always the case every july ..

we all have our own opinions .. .. just like my opinion for mauresmo .. ..

patroits football .. news around that tedy bruschi will miss the season after his head injury .. that sucks, and is a very big blow to the patriots defense .. he was their main vocalist, and heart of the defensive squad .. and they are also missing ty law, who is still one of the best cornerbacks in the league, with charles woodson and champ bailey .

welly teddy did announce today he's not going to be playing this year - shame, hopefully he recovers. i thought i read somewhere that rodney harrison was going to sit out for a bit, but turns out he showed up to the mini-camps.

i wonder what's going to be happening to the ty law scenario - where do you think he's going to sign? for how much, is probably the key too.

i like t.o, but the guys getting shitty advise from rosenhaus - the guy just signed a nice contract last year, and now wants more money. seriously, get real. i hope the eagles don't cave and force t.o to come back - i mean, the guy has no leverage either way.

i'm stoked to see ricky williams back - i can pull out my dolphins jersey and throw it on a few times gonna be fun to see what happens in miami.

a few teams i'm gonna be excited to watch this year, detroit and houston. man, the lions' receiving core and kevin jones!

i'm hoping to hit the seahawks vs colts game in december - a nice three hour drive down. would've loved to see the skin's game too - i'm a huge portis fan. although, vick's coming to town too - should be fun!

haha thats why I never question anyone that Leopold likes lol

if rosenhaus ego coudnt get any bigger...he saved a kid from drowning I think yesterday, today in the Miami media he letting everyone know what a hero he is lol.

bruschis loss is huge, when a team loses their best and their leader on defence like that, its not going to go well. They have proven me wrong before

leo, Deuce was my first round pick in my other league, i hope he does well

Posted by SlackerBoy9 on Jul-21-2005 23:14:

I got Deuce and rudi johnson as my main running back in my other league but my qb's are super scary.aaron Brooks(how many low light reels can he make) and i got Leftwich.
on another note what was up with terrell Owens comparing his struggle to that of Jesus..what an ass.
"Terrell Owens the Eagles' reluctant receiver is reaching for the sky, invoking Jesus in his contract squabble. Asked about his contract problem with the Eagles, Owens didn't invoke the name of Curt Flood or even NFL free-agency pioneer Reggie White. He went right over their heads. Waaaay over. "At the end of the day," Owens told the Miami Herald's Jason Cole, "I don't have to worry about what people think of me, whether they hate me or not. People hated on Jesus. They threw stones at him and tried to kill him, so how can I complain or worry about what people think?"
And now to call my first big injury of the year i will call it being Charles Rogers for a 3rd straight year with my secondary one being Eli Manning...that line is going to get him killed

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Jul-22-2005 00:35:

nah .. i think the DLs will respect tiki barber, and concentrate on eli handing the ball off to him, rather than throwing it to toomer or hilliard .. so he can be spared .. he won't be beat up as much as david carr was back in houston a couple of years ago .. .. that was awful ..

anyways .. my prediction for first major injury is terrell owens .. his mouth won't shut the hell up, and while his lip is flapping, he's not working out his already injured ankle .. so he's going to injure it again, and force him to miss the whole year ..

that said .. deuce and brooks are good fantasy picks .. just to let you know, i think the saints did really well picking out their front 5 for the year, so i wouldn't be surprised for big games from deuce, and better protection for brooks .. just as long as brooks doesn't make bonehead decisions, as he has done in the past, it's fine for him ..

guy you should be looking at is az-zhir hakim .. 3rd wr and probably the guy that is going to win the returns specialist job .. some strange reason, the saints get lucky with this position from tyrone hughes to fred mcafee to michael "the beerman" lewis ..

like it wasn't before when the beerman was taking the kicks .. ..

I'm a Bucs fan i cover my eyes at the games every year so i don't have to watch them kick...man Bucs special teams are horrible..plus of course every kick return they keep the count of how many kickoffs and them never returning one for a td.

makes you wonder why the bucs let go of aaron stecker, huh ? .. coulda been the guy to break that streak .

that streak is funny
man I agree with the qbs this year being , my starting Qb in my other league is Kerry Collins, which sounds scary , but I won my league last year as him being the main qb down the stretch, and like I said before now with Randy Moss, logically it could get better, unless Randy is the superstar that will get injured.
Heres one guy that might get injured, he's on the Lions...not Rogers...but... Joey Harrington! Imagine all the pressure this guy is goin into to be good finally and boom he's injured in preseason

more news with my hometown saints ..

deuce gets a fat contract (7 years, $51 million) .. seems the saints management are putting the franchise tag on him .. a good move ..

even happier news is that the saints have managed to sign ronald mckinnion, the middle linebacker from the arizona cardinals .. a really big pickup, because he can help with our pourous run defense from last year, especially when our linebackers forgot to know how to tackle at times.

go saints!

hey .. remember that we were the 'idiots' that drafted him out of texas ... .. all he did was mope about his playing time, and was a very closed-minded person against the coaches .. we're talking about mr. 'i have to find myself in the forest' ricky, right ?

lol that was the best draft ever.Eagles booing getting Mcnab instead of Ricky (wtf) Seeing Edgerrin James (from the U I might add ) suprisingly getting picked ahead of Ricky, and seeing the sadness and wtf face on Ricky, Then Ditka trades his entire draft for Ricky, and then when they pick him Ditka puts on a dreadlocks wig and Ricky is still like wtf. Then a little later on Ditka puts on a wedding dress to rickys tux....Best Draft ...EVER!

bad news for the giants .. that does suck .. they still got amani toomer and ike hilliard right ?? .. and they got that fast special teams guy that usually plays the 3rd or 4th wide out .. forgot his name .. pretty good player ..

hopefully the offensive line can protect eli better than last year .. if so, then eli can make some magic happen in g-town ..

but with hyperextended knee injuries .. we sports fans know those are iffy injuries .. sometimes it takes a week to heel .. sometimes 2 months .. other times 2 years (robert edwards, new england .. remember that guy )

i have heard nothing from their camp .. no news about the condition of portis .. pretty concerned, after the beating he took last year .. pretty weird they spent a lot of time to get laverneus coles from the jets, and then during the offseason, they trade him back ..
