Talking WOW cds again!

You may remember how I said the other day that I managed to score all 3 way out west albums in one day....

well obviously I checked 'em out

It's pretty obvious what I'm about to say.

They're all awesome!!!

Way Out West
============

01. Blue: - Nice starter track

02. The Gift: It's a good track but i'm not sure about that pitch shift

03. Domination: Pretty cool how its got moaning in it

04. Dancehall Tornado: good

05. Questions Never Answered: good

06. Sequoia: good

07. Ajare: Just ok. Not too keen on the drums at the start. The "oh-ha-hey" vocals border on the style of vocals that I hate, but the other vocal samples are fine

08. Drive by: good

09. King of The Funk: alright but some of those samples are

10. Earth: ...but yeah after that its good

Intensify
=========

01. The Fall: Good

02. Activity: Excellent

03. Call Me: Good

04. Hypnostise: Love the first half. Dont like the vocals once they are in full

05. Sharkhunt: Excellent

06. Stealth: Good

07. UB Devoid: Don't really like the drums, but thats just me

08. Mindcircus: I think You Know

09. Intensify Part 01: Excellent!

10. Intensify Part 02: Excellent!

Don't Look Now - Disc 1
=======================

01. Anything But You: Very Good

02. Dont Forget Me: Excellent!

03. Everyday: Very Good

04. Apollo: Perfect!

05. Chasing Rainbows: Very Good

06. Fear: Good

07. Coming Home: Very good

08. Just Like A Man: Very good

09. Killa: Killa!

10. Northern Lights: Awesome!

11. Melt: Very Good

12. Absinthe Dreams: Awesome!

Don't Look Now - Disc 2
=======================

Fookin' Unbelievable

I was listening to pulse of life not knowing what it was... then I thought to myself "Hey this track is pretty freakin' cool.. who's it by? then I looked in the CD case and saw it was a WOW track!

So to sum it up, 'Way Out West' fucking kick ass!

prodigy - experience
prodigy - music for the jilted generation
prodigy - the fat of the land

and

shpongle - are you shpongled?
shpongle - tales of the inexpressible
shpongle - nothing lasts

Prodigy..meh

Shpongle ok. But I personally prefer WOWs sound over Shpongle. Should Ulrich release a 3rd album as good as his last two, then the 3 star title will be awarded to him.

Posted by PersianMafia on Aug-14-2005 23:44:

BTW, where did you get the original one? I've been hunting that one in local stores for a while. Given up and most online stores dont have it/charge too much.

Posted by meneedit on Aug-15-2005 00:02:

I got a frient to order it through some american website....

cd universe or music univers or something

Posted by PersianMafia on Aug-15-2005 00:11:

So they actually have it! I thought it was a GIMMICK! NICE!

Posted by meneedit on Aug-15-2005 00:56:

I can think of an artist/s that has three good albums...

Sonic Animation!

theres no point in me telling you, Because I live in Australia... therefore the prices will be meaningless.....

but I should tell you anyway

WoW - WoW $30.00

WoW - Intensify $30.00

WoW - Don't Look Now $34.50

What about BT?

BT - ESCM
BT - IMA
BT - Movement In Still Life

Posted by Azz3D on Aug-15-2005 06:44:

chicane might be able to complete his trifecta whenever he re-releases 'easy to assemble'

Aphex Twin - I Care Because You Do
Aphex Twin - Drukqs
Aphex Twin - Richard D. James Album

Posted by vinnie97 on Aug-18-2005 08:41:

lol @ all this artist one-upmanship.

PVD? ha, Jody Wisternoff has more talent in his finger than this joker.

BT? You're only as good as your last album, tho' the 3 albums mentioned above all have some great moments and Ima is a personal fave.

Aphex Twin? He's on a totally different level.

Chicane? Easy to Assemble wreaks havoc on any would be stellar trifecta (at least the leaked version )

Prodigy? Maybe.

Shpongled's latest is a bit of a letdown.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, meneedit. "Ajare" is 11 years old now, so you've got to admit it has aged pretty well all things considered. Also, the debut is still my fave (I lucked out and got the double vinyl pack upon release in 1997).

L.S.G. - The Black Album (1998)

Well said but the comment was to answer a question that was "Show me an artist with 3 albums as good as that?" not "Who is a better producer that that?"

Posted by vinnie97 on Aug-18-2005 10:00:

hence, why I gave you some credit for it by mentioning there are good moments on all 3 with the last 1 waning a bit. BT's production skills are second-to-none anyway, obviously...I just don't think he's made the best creative choices lately. Anyway, another topic for another thread.

Posted by adam james on Aug-18-2005 11:29:

Once again well said, best not to keep this going as this is a WOW thread not a BT thread.

the beatles

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Aug-18-2005 20:03:

I can think of several. Besides, Intensify was a pretty poor album.

Posted by Joost on Aug-18-2005 20:08:

The Beatles?

-edit- I need some glasses

Haha! Beat me to it.

...Although, I'd probably have left out The Black Album. I didn't find that one all too compelling.
