What track got you into EDM?
Just intrested to see what track got you into EDM..
Mine was BT - Rememeber
Whats yours?
Hahahaha
JX - You Belong to Me
icant remember exactly but it was probably
da hool - meet her at the love parade
liquid b - lost in love
bt - saltwater
it was a really bad euro CD. But I picked out what I thought was the best track on there for my raver sister. The name of the track was only known to me as 'audiotrack 14', could never find an artist or a title, even the guy who made the CD didn't know. But my sister recognized I had a little style in my choice and she dragged me out kicking and screaming to one of the old Toronto Massives. A couple years later once I got settled into the scene, I downloaded a track off napster just as a random occurance and it turned out to be the one I loved off my old high school buddy's dance music CD, the name of which turned out to be a pre-released version of Sasha's Xpander.
I'm really proud I can say without any lying that I didn't fall in love with the cheese first.
That came later.
i think mine was -
Planet Perfecto feat. Grace - Not Over Yet 99
TUUUUNE
hocus pocus - heres johhny

prodigy - voodoo people

Remember:
Dance, House and Club Anthems. Compilations?
hahaha
And DanceNet
Would have to have been the first time i heard binary finary - 1998.
i started off with some ecclectic ambient electronica like Biosphere and Pete Namlook that i would listen to while studying
and then i started listening to Nick Skitz 11 and 12
the first trance song that made me obsessed with electronica was Allure - Rejected, after hearing that i downloaded all these songs from Tiesto albums (i had no idea who Tiesto was and thought he was the producer at the time
)
and i've been addicted to some form of EDM or other ever since
I love Mr Vain and that era of classic "techno" pop
but I guess the real start of it for me was Robert Miles - Children
halcyon on and on by orbital

why, adagio of course
but the big difference for me was watching kevin n perry
thats when i realised that maybe adagio wasnt the only decent tune out there.
that was early 2001. and now im all broke from all my edm-related expenses. damn worth it tho
robert miles - children.
To an extent i think it was Tsunami (One Remix) by Orbital or Satan by Orbital which nicknack got me into .. but if i had to choose the one that really tipped the scale it would be KayCee - Escape (or trance.ogg if youre tathi/nicknack
)
Different Gear vs Sia - Drink to get Drunk (figures)
Dj Misjha vs Dj Tim..."Access"
Josh Wink...Higher State Of Consciousness

i used to play both of those at birthday parties =P

i'd like to say
BT - Flaming June
Chicane - Saltwater
but no...
Robert Miles - Children got me interested.
then there was
ATB - Don't Stop
Watergate - Heart of Asia
DJ Jurgen Presents Alice Deejay - Better Off Alone
...
Then one day i heard
Binary Finary - 1998
Paul Van Dyk - For An Angel
System F - Out of the Blue
Gouryella - Gouryella
Haven't turned back since
Haha, so many classic tracks listed here. If I had to choose just one track it would probably be Ultrasonic - Annihilating Rhythm, but JX, Culture Beat and Here's Johnny were all pretty big with me at about the same time from memory.

what really got me hooked was not one particular song but the compilation Paul Oakenfold - Global Underground New York which started my love affair with Oakey and trance, which then gave way to importing Transport by which stage i was hooked ahhhh the memories.
faithless- insomnia of course

has to be Greece 2000 which complemented the whole Tranceport album back in the day.
