enough for me to pay $45 to see a 4 hour amrin set..

Posted by dj_minor on Oct-21-2005 05:23:

Weekends... $20,000 + per GIG
Weekdays... depends on how well they know the promoter. We pay about $5000 for the like of Armin.
Oakenfold would cost about $40,000 on a weekend.

It depend's on so much!

Youd be surprised how many dj's who aren't even as well known fetch 10k

On top of that, the radio shows, the interviews, the listening through thousands of demos, the label they run, the flights they have to catch, the jet lag, the records that got lost at the airport, the power cuts, the faulty mixers and decks... im sure there is more!

it's still your averages person's yearly salary for a few hours mixing though

Get to the top, dj for 2 years, retire as a millionaire.

Yeh well depend's....

Theyve been around for many yrs also... alot of people vote for them tho, because they dont know anyone else and also house djs r more popular I believe, but house supporters are your avg joe... who dont give 2 rats about voting in dj mag!!

So as i said, youd be surprised how some of the big arse house djs get the same as armin/tiesto + more!!!

It is a better life than most people.. can't complain..

If you mix cd's, you don't lose record's... well meeting beautiful women, having the latest tunage, being semi famous, some are even doing commerical's!! yeh radio show's... i mean it depend's where you live!!

Tho i would get sick of flying around the world, tho most of the A LIST dj's fly BUSINESS CLASS MIN! so it ain't too bad!! but u cant expect to have much of a normal life, most have their partners touring with them!

oh well, :P

I wouldn't expect them to be getting paid that in full. They have promoters and agents and all kinds of other bullshit that they have to pay for so I would guess in the end they get half of that. But thats just a guess.

Posted by LucasYork on Oct-21-2005 13:14:

POINT.

Example $10,000

Agent - 10% SAY tho could be 10-20%

Manager? Some do. 10%

So that's 20% already.

$8,000 depending if their touring, there will be or might be international agent... further more 10%

$7000 plus whatever else.... taxes... etc etc

still not bad for working 2 hrs

Posted by LucasYork on Oct-21-2005 14:22:

Not everyone dj earn's that, plus you forget hour's of listening to tunes, catching taxis to airports, in and out.. travelling... that all counts!!

doubt its just 2 hrs, plus when you arrive at a city, they wanna put you on radio, interviews, gotta be nice to everyone... more like a whole day sometimes, but yeh not bad for a day even

The biggest names dont pay for transport and accomodation, those are usually part of their agreement
