Dancing to EDM vs. Dancing to HipHop/Rap
So I got into a fight with these fucking Italian thugs about how they say you cant dance to dance music when you can really dance to hip/hop/rap.
I would put this in the COR room but they are all cracked out. So what should a good argument be I say having a girl grind her ass into your dick is not a form of dance unless you work in Silicon Valley and Im not talkin the Microsoft place
Well, there definitely is more to dancing to hip-hop/rap then a girl grinding on you. Lots of choreographed dances go along with that style of music. But as far as I can tell, that is just it. It is all basically choreographed where as "dance music" or edm is more free. Allowing you to pretty much dance however the hell you want. Its also really fun to dance with a partner to EDM I think. But yeah, I would tell your friends they are jackasses and try bringing them to a night out to show them what you mean.

I find hip hop too slow to dance. The only way I can get myself to dance to it is to get completely wasted.
You can't blame hip-hop for that though. It's just how your general crowd likes to dance to the type of music. I think it is fun... or was fun. I couldn't do that all the time or every time I went out to the club but hey I couldn't complain when thats how a girl wanted to dance with me. Which is kinda funny because until my girlfriend, I NEVER enjoyed dancing with a girl to EDM. I always had the most fun dancing alone. It is just the type of music it is, I guess.

I don't really like dancing to hip-hop/going to hip-hop clubs either. It's too often mostly people that can't dance. Also, it's much more difficult as a guy to dance to hip-hop by yourself. I mean, it's fine if you have a dance partner, but think of the last guys that you saw dancing by themselves to hip-hop. Most guys that I have seen aren't really dancing because they like the music, they're dancing to attract a dance partner.

What I can't stand the most at a hip-hop club is the vibe. For example, Fur Nite Club. You are in the EDM room and everyone is going wild dancing their asses off. People in VIP are all standing up dancing having a blast. You go to the hip hop room and all the "hard asses" are just gaising looking at everyone trying to make eye contact and just give looks. VIP is all sat down. Girls acting like they arent interested in the guy trying to make a move on them. Its just a room full of people thinking "Im a hard ass" instead of just being there to listen to the music.

Come now people, you can fuck-dance to ANYTHING. I've done it to trance, to house, to hip hop, to rap, to bad 80's singles for fuck's sake... You just gotta get in the spirit! Break out the tight white pants!
But of course of course of course you're less likely to encounter this at an EDM club (except the e-tards of course but it's not their fault
) Hip-hop clubs are something I would go to with my girls to dress up hot, and not anymore anyway, cause it's not my style. To take an extreme example, basement of Webster Hall anyone? It's the fucking 9th circle of hell in there!!
^^^hahah sorry i don't frequent webster hall, not my scene. hahah
EDM people love to dance with a partner. Sometime multiple partners. *cough* asian seizure dance *cough*

its funny how everyone thinks when they hear "techno" edm they think they gotta either jump or dance like a frekin rabbi (u know exactly what im talkin about). But i think with all music wether its slow or fast bpm, the dancer & the listener has the freedom to dance however they feel. Even when dance music has a higher bpm you can dance real slow or real fast, most other genres will kind of limit you (at least thats what i think). This is why i think Dance music is so great, its versatile in every aspect/shape/form.
