[REVIEW] Paul Van Dyk @ Roxy 11-11-05

PVD killed it! Good TA turnout tonight too! I'll write more when I get up later today

Got mad packed and crazy hot, but PVD played a excellent set and provided a fantastic time
Cool that they put the DJ booth on the stage (with 3 video screens each to both the left and right of it), so that everyone got a better look at him

I love when he does the hard stuff, but I have to admit I wasn't feeling it most of the night. At the end, however, he blew me away. A bouncer told us that they oversold, and hundreds of people were turned away, is this true?

Posted by pvd420 on Nov-12-2005 11:46:

yes it is true.....a friend of mine didnt get in

Why does Made screw up these events? They should have figured it out by now.

refuckinglentless.. all night. Pounding out tune after tune after tune. amazing set!

Posted by mamii on Nov-12-2005 12:12:

glad you guys had fun.

It was a killer encore at the end... PVD had a great night at Roxy.

Posted by ravensyz on Nov-12-2005 12:20:

Just negate the massive amounts of half naked FOBS by 80% (geez what happened here? a population explosion? I do not rem pvd's last gig at the roxy like this), put some more vents to vacuum out the steam from all of us dancing .. and then vwala - perhaps it'd have been close to my definition of perfection.

ok, now the positive highlights - pvd's set was really amazing - lots of hard beats and I could not stop dancing.

Also, it was good to see many old and new faces

I hardly post, but I have to say that I have seen PvD 9 times, and tonight was the best I have seen him. Awesome track selection, which brought awesome energy all night. He's definitely rewarding all of us for voting him number 1.

That doesn't sound good. Didn't you go? Or didn't you have fun? Hope neither was the case, but "glad you guys had fun" doesn't sound good.

Posted by sot on Nov-12-2005 12:52:

wow

i havent been the hugest fan of trance lately but goddamn..that set was unreal. banger after banger...lasers were sickkkkkkk. bonham did an excellent job opening up for pvd..definitely give him props. nyce seeing all the regulars and nice meeting pvdobsession.

track of the night for me:

Marco V - False Light........ownageee ch00n...some1 must make a electro remix of it (ahem sebastian ingrosso and steve angello)

k time to attempt sleep which i know wont happen so tv time it is haha

Posted by Vandict on Nov-12-2005 12:58:

playlist anyone???

Posted by Andre1129 on Nov-12-2005 12:59:

Had a great time. PVD's set was alright. Nice seeing other T.A.'s.

Oh yeah Mike. That track I asked you about earlier that I knew sounded familiar was "Sam Perez & Dariush - Across The Ocean".

alright..im going to bed.

Posted by DJ Mikey Mike on Nov-12-2005 13:01:

He started really amazingly, but then it went really boring for a bit. Then he started hammering out really hard tracks which was quality and went on to finish really well!

Also, Bonham was really really good.

yeah i agree somewhat the tedious period was from 2-4
then at 4:14 a new standard of power precision balance
and trancenergy began ...

great seeing all of you i felt connected thentire night ...

He has to be reading this message board!!!! The guy played SKYDIVE!!!!
amazing stellar.. im back!!! TRANCE I AM BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by trunks1022 on Nov-12-2005 13:17:

i like how he progressed tonight. a little bit of eclectic stuff for the first three hours. i mean he played felix the housecat - watching cars go by (sasha's mix)!!!

from 3:30 - 4, played some more relaxing melodic tunes to set us up... after that, bedlam til the end.

murder was the bass
false light
angello and ingrosso - yeah

and that fucking sick sick tune he dropped around 5:30. he played it on his einslive rocker set from october 23, '05... i'm gonna go find the name

*FOUND IT - EDIT* emjay - real high... my word. just destroy me all over again

in all my times clubbing, i've been waiting for a set from pvd like this. this was just massive. old tunes, new tunes, just fucking destroyed me.

well that was my opinion anyway good to see everyone i talked to tonight

I did go, but couldn't get in because of over-capacity. If you haven't read my post "what a PvD night", read it and you'll know exactly what happened.

Posted by LuNaSeA on Nov-12-2005 15:12:

did you guys use the dry erase board?!

Posted by SebringVandit on Nov-12-2005 15:23:

Sorry to hear that I missed what I'm sure was an incredible time, even if the heat and the crows reached 'Tiesto at Avalon' levels and a lot of kids got turned away. Maybe next time Made should move PVD to an even bigger venue - Hammerstein Ballroom? Theather at MSG?

I stayed up here in CT where I checked out Steve Porter, who kicked ass with a nice house / prog. set, but I'm sure it was no comparison to Roxy. I plan on making to Oakenfold and / or Tiesto on Thanksgiving weekend and hope to see a good number of you there.
