** GREEN VELVET / CAJMERE **

Theyve been talking about Green Velvet over in England. Oh, have they been talking. Here is just a small sampling of comments from across the pond about the music of Green Velvet, the Chicago-born DJ and techno master whose self-titled debut album for Warner Bros. promises to be one of the new millenniums first genuinely intriguing releases:

One of the truly original voices in contemporary dance music.

Techno with its insides twisted on a perpetual groove.

A perfect amalgamation of conformity and madness. An insane melting pot of highly-sexed, mind-bending tracks that leave you wondering about the mental health of Mr. Velvet.

Rocks harder than Mick Jaggers pants.

====================================

** CRAZE **

Three-time DMC World Champion
Doing 2 separate sets

One old skool DMC Styleeeeeeee
One DnB Set

CRAZE:
On the turntables, DJ Craze is generally considered to have few peers. Having won the DMC Technics World DJ Championship title an unparalleled three times (even Q-Bert earned two of his titles in the team category -- but then, Craze one a separate title in the team category as well). He's been written up in Time magazine and has performed across the globe. Most importantly, however, for the purposes of this event: he has become an almost one-man bridge between the world's of American hip-hop and British drum & bass. This New Years Eve he will be doign both of his specialties and 2 separate sets. This guy in action is a must see, hear and feel. and we got him full on for you this dec 31 in houston.

** STEVE PORTER **

The next generation of electronic music producers is gaining hold and leading the charge is DJ/production phenom STEVE PORTER. His prolific productions have garnered international attention and are propelling him into Americas future DJ-cum-producer star. He is now poised for his official coming out party with his debut artist album Homegrown on FDS Recordings.
Once in a blue moon there comes along a prodigy that is noticed by the big guns and whose talent catapults them onto the world stage. Over the last six years, Steve has amassed a wide portfolio of over 50 singles and 28 remixes under his name and the many aliases (Agent 001, HDF & Bons) used to suit the mood of the song. His myriad of tracks have been dominating dancefloors globally with the versatility of Porterhouse finding its way into the record boxes of everyone from Sasha, Lee Burridge, Derrick Carter, Carl Cox, Sander Kleinenberg, Mark Farina and Paul van Dyk.
The essence of Porterhouse brings the energetic action to the dancefloor where the warm, funky basslines and cool percussion melt away any chin stroking pretensions and the resonating guitar & piano hooks lure you into an eternal groove. Make no mistake, Porterhouse is party house.

nice one...

STEVE PORTER RULES!!!

porterhouse!

Posted by progressiveMOJO on Dec-06-2005 06:12:

yeah I wasn't too keen on this until I saw STEVE PORTER. Then I decided that I really should go to this party (unless by a small but non-zero chance that I might go to NYC for new years).

I'm still praying for the original mix of Definite Form to get a vinyl release. The one that was on Sander K's mix CD. God I love that song (although the Jumpin' Dub does slaughter a dancefloor).

Looks like this is the event to be at.

If I can get out of a gig that night, I'm making the trip.

I was actually just discussing this with a friend today...He claims the bassline is from a track on his Champa Moore mix CD...I'll have to find the name of the track.

Posted by JBDreamerie on Dec-22-2005 06:12:

yea. sure. i'll go. why not? unless some other plan pops up....

so how was the show?

Posted by JBDreamerie on Jan-01-2006 18:46:

i was really disappointed for the money i spent to get in there.

plus the fact that everyone was pretty much gone by 1:30 or so didn't help

but on the plus side, there were a good number of hot looking ladies...

Posted by daydreamer on Jan-02-2006 17:19:

^^
yeah, i was kinda outraged to.
how much was it at Hush with Deep Dish and Fischerspooner, $25, i think.
Feck, and Fischerspooner threw down, they were definately worth their cut.

"You don't need to Emerge from nothing....."

i've always had respect for people who play live.
