[psy]Cybernetika - Astranimus (192kbps, full)
Hi folks,
again something new from me. I spent a lot of time on this track which I consider one of my most detailed tunes so far. It is called "Astranimus" and is some kind of darker full-on Psy with lots of twisted fucked up synths and FX.
For the audio "destruction" I used a new plugin called dblue Glitch which is just awesome. I recommend it to any Psy or IDM producer, it can really create some nice FX with timestretching, bitcrushing, reversing etc, and it is very easy to use.
Length: 8:26
Bitrate: 192kbps
Filesize: ~11MB
Equipment used: FL Studio 5, Linplug Albino, ReFX Vanguard, Spectrasonics Atmosphere, dblue Glitch, Ohmforce Ohmboyz, etc.
So here's the link:

Enjoy. Feedback appreciated
great inovative creativity and attention to details. somehow by the end i feel that its a bit empty, but maybe its the minimal style that is giving me it... fx and style/arrangement is premium
Review while listening:
wow, definately an impressive intro, you spent sometime on it lolz :P
0:52 oww yeh, the psy kick & bass
ahh, very nice use of vocals and build up with SFX, nicely done, it really suits the song. I needa get me something like that haha.
1:44 very nice here, exploding with sounds, i like.
2:11 nice chopping filter work there.
2:40 - 2:52 dunno how to explain this part, ill simply put as very nicely done.
2:52 - getting into something even more interesting now
3:20 - really reminds me of some hardtrance elements in here too, makes me like this track more
3:43 - very nice, the filter work reminds me a lot of "mike foyle's - pop it (sample)" that he had a while ago. any inspirations from this ? :P
5:00 nice use of vocals again. lol where those gun shots :O
its starts again.
5:50 - nice synth, it built up into something nice. nice pitching, really brings it alive.
in all nice song. i really like the time and effort spent on this piece. some nice psy trance/elements to listen to. recommended listening heh. its a long song, id have to say, but i dont mind long songs at all.
keep up the good work.
This is sick!
Best track I've heard from you.
I'll give you a full review after school.
Omer
p.s.
Any progress with the track?
Enter to the icq, we have to work on our little secret
Hm, haven't heard any tracks like that for a while. I like it, great intro and beat... Nice one. Definetly an original track!
i am speechless, this is the best i've heard from you so far, just because the quality of it is so high, everything seems to be in place, each frequency is fully developed yet compliments the others.
really really incredible work m8, this is something i expect to hear in VA albums no joke!
if you will be able to produce tracks like this one in the future, it would definatelly set a new standard, what i mean is that before your tunes were good but still either lacking something or the quality wasnt that good, this track has it all, pure quality and fully developed.
10/10 man, just for the effort that you put in, you can really tell you spent lots of hours doing it and it came out just like you wanted it to be.
Some graphical facts:
This is righteous. I'm at a loss for words on what to say. I've always been a fan of Cybernetica tracks - minimal and hypnotic ones.
Grimy-nice... nightmarish and technological manifestations of pure mind warping madness. It may sound empty, but that's because the writer of this track wanted you to focus on the things that mattered. One of my favorite listens by this artist yet!
THe synths are crazy as heck and so out there... They bring me to industrial triumphs of alien worlds.
The final goa-psy melody was prolly my favorite section and appropriately built-up to.
Thank you Cybernetica! Definately one of your best.
Guys, thanks a lot for the feedback and the positive response
@AniG: great feedback! However I dont even know the Mike Foyle tune. Similarities are not intended
@MegaMan: I feel really honored. Thanks! Interesting frequency analysis.. how did you do it?
@Four_On_Four-er: No thank YOU. Great review! Really appreciated
Killer track you got here cybernetica.
Effects at the start are great. Setting a really hi-tec feel to the track. You keep this feeling through the track with lots of twisted electronic distortion.
Bassline is good if a little standard. I think with the right compression settings it could have felt a tad more rolling/pumping. Not something I would change though as overall it sits well with the track.
Goa melody towards the end is a nice surprise and not something you tend to hear in psy tracks these days. It contrasts with the synths at the start of the track nicely. The bassline seems to loose emphasis at this point though. Would be interesting to hear if the more melodic one used earlier on in the track suited this part also.
I agree with what others have said pretty much, out of all your tracks I think its one of your best. Production is solid and has enough surprises to keep it interesting. Hope your thinking of sending this one out to some labels?
...
Well, uh, this is jesus.
I don't know how you did it, but you did something that is truely amazing, this track has lots of, for lack of better words, twisted ass pound enegry. I love it, you will do great things man. Looks like I may have a little compitetion, however working together would be cooler.
So, uh, Ill see you again when you make something awsome.
One tip, try something super differnt next time. Like, oh, heh heh, I dare you to make a psy trance track that is 160 bpm that is in triplets.
Well anyway great track.

Well anyway great track.
Awsome intro.
The sub is nice.
The kick off isn't good, you should add more percs into it.
I excpected a kick, ohaihat, clap/snare and something that will roll the track.
Vocals are awsome.
1:41 woot nice.
Nice distorded fx after it.
The sub is not driving enough.
Add an extra bass layer.
Nice bass change and good phasered choirs in 2:53.
I hear a snare but it's not powerful enough.
Make it louder.
Good fxes.
Dude this is the best fx work that I've heard from you.
Nice gated melody.
Vocals again.
Maybe this time auto-tune "my visionary" in the vocals.
It can add a really cool fx.
OMG nice riff.
But you should bang more after the roll. Again this shows on some lack of drive.
Good outro.
I'd add only "visionary" from the vocals, and gate the shit out of it. Also use panning, the glitch vst ect.
Just at the end.
How did you get the vocals?
In sum, here are the week points of the track:
1) You need more rythem percs
2) You need much more drive in the main parts and in the kick off. percs will help but you should add something else. some big-ass riff that will make your head move right from the begining. Maybe a oldschool 303 (use audiorealisem bassline).
3) You need another bass layer. This time make it rolling. Just a tad resoish (maybe use something original like sqaures instead of saws, It'll fit)
4) You need just a bit more athmospheric elements. Play more with the vocals, I suggessted some ideas above. More white noises with big reverbs on the back of the track. You need the atmosphere a bit darker.
And the good points of the track:
1) FX work is really fucking amazing.
2) Intro is creepy
3) Atmosphere is wicked (As I said you need to make it a bit darker).
4) Great vocal work
8/10 for me.
It's not perfect but it has signing potential if you'll work more on it.
Omer.
This is one of those infected type tracks that just puts a smile on your face because it's so trippy and hardcore, haha love the sound you got going.
Obviously not something you can just 'chill' to, but once I get tracks like this on my bigger system its a different story, good stuff... very random and 'trippy' which Im guessing you were aiming for, only thing I can complain about is the kickif it was a bit punchier it would hold the track much more solid, well done!
Feel free to review on my newer ambient track, much appreciated

Not really my style but I like the effects in it, good work on that. Agreeing with mike on the 4:35 mark. Great edits. I will have a look at that Glitch effect you recommended!

Hey cybernetica
This track is very cool, you obviously know your stuff when it comes to psytrance. So much detail here it's unreal. Very driving track too, excellent work
I for one must comment about how I liked the vocals - even if they weren't mangled up like the above poster appropriately put it. They seemed so fitting... what movie is that from?
i think this tune is just the beggining, and the key is just what cyber mentioned "details", good full-ons are usually very detailed altho sometimes you cant really tell "how" detailed they are cuz of high bpm rates.
there is a trick when making a tune, i personally use is to drop bpm lets say from 144 to 100 and program synths or percs then.
i dont know about you cyber, but after a while of leesaning one loop and making modifications to it, it gets annoying, so i program kicks after i did everything else with a metronome.
also wanted to ask you something, i assume you compress your kick and bass separately, do you always use the same settings on the kick or it varies with every tune and you sort of listen what sounds right, just wondering..
Yep, I liked it. Would see some time out if I was djing. Vocals could have been stretched maybe?
Completely loving the glitchwork in the intro.
2:12: Was that intentional? It sounded like the track skipped. Or did my download just fuck up?
I like when the bassline changes.
Good energy throughout. A lot of nice panning effects.
Thanks guys for the comments, and special thanks to the Darkone for the awesome review.
@MegaMan: Yup, I compress kick and bass seperately, compressing them together doesnt really work for me.
@jex: That "skipping" is intentional, I thought of it as some kind of wicked effect, not sure if it really works though
nice voice, effects are awesome, that lead that comes in about 6 minutes is very cool..
its not my kind of psy trance though, but i must say the production quality is excellent..
