Journey, greatest band ever?
i think so...
How many times have you heard Open Arms and thought "man, if I was getting back with my Ex this would be a great song. I know I have. Then you remember they're a cold-hearted bitch who never liked you anyways.
For all those people out there that feel that Journey is one of the best bands ever. for those that thought Steve Perry leaving Journey was bigger than Challenger exploding. Journey exists in a dimension totally different from other bands. In this dimension, terms like "taste" and "artistic sense" and "musicallity" do not exist. Instead, musical greatness is measured purely in how many people can sing along. In this dimension, Beethoven sucks Steve Perry's.....
Steve Perry is the god of singers, a Zeus enthroned on the Mount Olympus of arena rock where his righteous tone, range and delivery rain down upon grateful mortals and demigods alike.
His golden voice and peerless songwriting skills helped your dad to score and will someday help you to do the same, after you realize the error of your Journey-hating ways and embrace, in a blinding flash, the sheer perfection that is Steve Perry-era Journey.
Rock on.
It's a good track, but I cant say I like to hear it often. The Time collection rocked.
I wouldn't say they're the greatest band ever, but they do have some really nice songs.
ANY WAY YOU WANT IT.. THATS THE WAY YOU NEED IT.
Anyone ever play the Journey Escape game for Atari 2600? You had to dodge groupies and paparazzi. http://www.journey-tribute.com/jour...rces/atari2600/

I miss your mixes!
anyone see the aqua teen hunger force (adult swim), where carl had the journey belt and if hed mention a journey song somethin terrible would happen.
As for thge "greatest band ever", nah man. I mean thats an opinion but theyre were many other bands at that time that i thought were better. my 2 centz

Haha, Aqua Teen Hunger Force got it SO right...
Most of the Journey fans I've met have been strangely hyper-sensitive about criticism of their Jurassic-period arena rock. It's like they're worried that if someone speaks ill about Journey it will cause the universe to implode.
Personally, I'd rather listen to... something else. Don't hate them, though, just can't take em seriously.

Best band of all time must be the beatles but since I was'nt born in that timeframe, I'll stick with the two chord stadium rockers known as U2. So many tunes, so many memories...I must be getting old
Ok. ok. Fine. .... The Beatles.. We can't just tell Simon & Garfunkel to screw themselves. I nominate best song to be The Lonliest Boy in New York. Something about them singing "and half the time we're gone and we don't where we don't where.. " just tugs at the heart tendons. Or!! The Man Who Sold the World?! Bowie's version of course! No, sorry. Keep your electric eye on meee babee. Freak out in a moonage daydream ohhh yeahhh. Far out!
would you tell the same thing to mr.mccartney?
even tho Michael Jackson is a real nutcase/pedo, he still sold more records than most and who can top thriller?
Journey were fantastic. Don't Stop Believing is still a brilliant stadium-rock record.
It might sound dated nowadays, almost 25 years on, but hey, Journey had a sound that summed up the 80's just like Kenny Loggins, bad hair, and St Elmo's Fire did.
God bless 'em.

I think my friend use to cry to Open Arms, because the track reminded him of his ex. One of my fave is Foolish Heart. Here is another thinng to ponder, I think we should make more trance remakes of these fine 80's tracks.
