Dancing Dude Deekay/Corsten review

Holy fucking HELL!!! Deekay owned shit last night......mint fucking set......tracks were awesome, mixing was on point.....oh yeah and he didn't give two shits about being the opening DJ.....he banged it out!!! Greece 2000 right into Underworld - Cow Girl....fucking insanity!!! Ferry started off alright and then picked it up towards the end. Whoever closed for Ferry was horrible.......Tyrone Biggins without his red bull could have mixed better than that guy. lol
pics will be up soon

Ok.. Ok.. I quit. Here is my post from there:

I would just say awesome party. One of the best one in my life. Perfect mix by Ferry and a little bit more housy mix than expected by Matthey. I will write something more later on, since I am very lost now

I also want to thank Bradley for the guestlist!!!

yo gabe, sorry mann...we couldn't close...we tried...but was almost sober the entire time...the music kept me dancing...legs hurt and left at 4:30am...but from what ppl were saying about the closing dj, maybe its just as well. I only have GOOD memories and things to say about last night
_______________________________________________________

Ive def been made a *convert* of Matthew DeKay -- and that's saying a lot cuz he mostly dropped a housy set -- and awesome!! Greece 2000 w00t!! OMG i hope he comes back. One of the BEST openers ive heard so far...Ferry was awesome, he threw down a great mix of 'fluffy' and banging trance, well i def thought this set was better than the other L.E.F. sets so far, heard his new single "Fire", he brought out LIGAYAAAA (!!) Jay was ECSTASTIC at that, Galaxia, Who's Knocking, FOG...the favorites.

Totally worth it to go -- even though I was too freaking tired from the getgo. Saw SO MANY TAs last night, the regulars including vtec and Joeyyyy Met Nik (innerdc) who trooped it up here from DC. Saw other friends i haven't seen in a looong time -- which helped me to deal with the horrible crowd that was there last night. WAAAAAY too many kids, esp. ppl that just LOOKED like they weren't sposed to be there...not the best vibe.

Totally worth it to go -- to sign Ferry's BIRTHDAY card (thanks to RoDawG) then to be in on the chorus of ppl trying to sing "Happy Birthday" above Ferry's opening song...he looked SURPRISED and DELIGHTED....to wave at him and have him nod at you with a big smile. awesome.

liz and jenn: you would have LOVED it!! missed u guys <3

Just had to be there.

cmon i wanna see more PICS!!! vtec, RoDawG cmon you guys were taking MADD pics!

Oh man what a night! I think that was one of the best nights out in a long time. I've never hung out with so many TA's. It was really awsome to finally meet a ton of you. Every single person I met last night was cool as hell, you guys are great! I had such a good time, I fucking crashed at like 5:00 or so and felt like crap the rest of the night but I toughed it out. The cards, the cakes, oh man, what a memorable night, I doubt anyone's ever done that for Ferry before, I'm so glad it worked out! Pics coming soon!

oh btw, does anyone know the name of the song he played before Ligaya? I have a vid clip I'll upload soon.

Also what was that song that sounded like Punk, it had the same synth as the main hook of Punk.

oh oh edit: OMFG!!!!!!!!!! He played All I Wanna Do this time!! woot!

...and why was his "F" backwards

Posted by DavidJosephs on Dec-10-2005 19:20:

for those that thought my closing set sucked i do apologize - i'm my own worst critic and i know my first three mixes were nothing to write home about - i won't call this an excuse, but i usually don't play as fast as ferry, nor have i played the genre he does in quite a while - also i've never played crobar before - so i wasn't in a real comfortable place in the beginning.

i hope for those that stayed (which there seemed to be quite a few) that i did well for you guys - i felt like i got into a nice rhytmn after those first three - but regardless, we play for you guys and it was an honor to play after ferry and matthew.

Ah don't sweat it... I only stayed for like your first three tracks so I didn't get to hear the rest of your set, hot tracks, yea the mixes are off, but whatever, anyone else who spins too knows sometimes you gotta warm up and get in the zone... can't be easy coming on after Ferry Corsten either lol

rob - thanks for the words.

going on after ferry was quite hard - i was honored to play, but i knew coming in it would be intense.

i've opened up for house/electro dj's such as DJ Heather, David Alvarado and Kaskade recently - so this was a test, but i don't back down from tests (except those SAT type ones - those suck!!)

cheers rob.
