| Originally posted by DJ PSYCHOTRANCE Yes indeed you are wrong.....i'm not in the slightest bit jealous of this guy.....you forget that i am the co-owner of the evolution.fm site and radio station.....i deal with this guy almost every week about his radio show.....and he comes across as one arrogant f**ker. one thing i can't stand is arrogant people....and people who think they are better than others.......if i was jealous of him all i would need to do is kick him off my radio station....but i'm not like that......yes he IS a GOOD dj......but in my opinion not the best we have at our station......and i certainly don't think that i'm the best. One example....i was doing my show and he was on after me.....but before my show we were doing a sound check for another dj.....so my show ran 20 minutes into his show....i appologised to him and told him to extend his show by 20 minutes to make up for the time lost......he still bloody well complained.....yet i'm the one paying for this station. I don't want to go into anymore details....or list every problem we have had with this guy......so don't accuse me of being jealous of him when you do not know the facts. |
I must say that I enjoyed this mix a lot when I heard it on Evolution FM, and Eros is an excellent DJ to listen to!
@ djgosher2023....NO i'm not a cocky dj.....and i never will be....the truth is this dj is on his final warning at our station....for criticising other dj's who have 1. problems with their streams 2. make a mistake with one of their transitions 3. was only a dj with us for a week and wanted us to change the forum to suit him.
Hell i was talking during one of my shows and he even criticised me because he could not understand what i said because of my Scottish accent......the list is goes on.....even the girl who runs the radio station with me has the same opinion of him as i do.....and i only know her through the internet.....and it was her who gave him the final warning.
as for you not liking my comment about kicking him off MY radio station i never said i was going to do it....i just said i could if i wanted.....but i don't want to unless there is good reason to kick him off.
anyway what's it to you if i did kick him off.....you don't pay for the radio station and neither does he I DO.
Another thing....we have 12-13 dj's on our station and i get on really good with everyone of them apart from DJ-Eros....WHY.?.....because the other dj's are not full of themselves like this prick is.
oh and another thing in case you think i'm having a go at you....I'M NOT.....in my eyes your were trying to defend him when you did not know the trouble he causes.......he talks to me like shit on messenger calling me an asshole....he even tried to threaten to come over from Puerto Rico to Glasgow to fight with me......so i'm sorry if it seems that i have been rude to you....i just wanted to get my point across to you about this guy.
regards and respect: Paul
i see where ur coming from now and i totally agree with you..just when you put ur first reply up to his tread.people like myself can get the wrong idea where ur coming from.other people off this forum and myself dont no what goes on with ur station and this dj.
respect to you!!
zomg n00bs! why are you even arguing?
LORD OF BASS is the winnar.

Your beginning got me very interested and that isn't easy coming from me since I don't usually listen to what I call "late-90s" trance. I thought your first 3 tracks were laid out nicely with good climb and build. But by the time I hit the 19 minute mark I started to wonder what else is left since you climbed the steps that high that quickly and turned out I was right. I was doing some work on the computer and by the time I realized I was still listening I switched back to WMP and saw it was about 30 min. Basically I got bored, it just felt like droning beats with variation on the synths. Some of the transitions were also ackward where clearly you just throw in the beats, and start ramping down volume because the incoming beat was completely different in character, creating a disconnect in the overall drive of the mix. In the 2 1/2 hours, either you tell a story using the entire set (extremely hard to do) or you tell multiple stories back to back to back with no relation whatsoever with the others (what most people do) and I feel you done the later. Putting in energetic tracks and then having a song that has a long breakdown before rebuilding back up has been done many many times, in order to make them stand out you have to convince the listener this breakdown actually has a relationship with the previous tunes to create the sense of "relief" from the brilliant energy of previous track. I did not sense it so I heard songs as individual tracks and not really as a mix as a whole.
Your mixing skills are good but not great due to several clearly audible repitch during transition and a slightly beatmatching issue as heard at 47-48min mark. However, you do have a good sense of what music you want to put in the mix. Trance music, due to its lack of versatility must be carefully crafted in order to stand out unlike other genres, namely house which takes in jazz, blues, hip hop, funk, rock and more. I want to hear you do a 30 minute hot mix and see if you can tell a great story in such a short time before making that "perfect" epic 2 1/2 hour mix that will be talked about years to come. Take a glance at what has been posted these past years by other TA members and you'll see the same pattern done over and over again in terms of misconceptions and mistakes on what the perfect mix would be. Then listen to what the masters did and are doing such as Sasha and James Zabiela. Take a listen to Zabiela's 30 min promo mix from last year. Amazing songs, the entire mix felt like one big song because there was a relationship between every track. Pure bliss. Anyhow I give this mix 7/10 and I hope you stop call it the perfect mix because it's far from it, but maybe it's your way of saying "In Search of: The Perfect Mix".

One more thing to say to you DJ-Eros......i'll change my attitude towards you when you deflate that huge EGO of yours....and stop acting like an arrogant asshole.......remember over a month ago you threatened to come over to Glasgow to kick my teeth in.
i am not jealous of you and never will be.......my problem with you is i hate arrogant people who have oversized EGO's. and you have admitted to me that you do have an EGO.
How come you are the only dj on our station that i have a problem with.....? the other dj's are not arrogant and they do not have EGO's.
Thanks

Gah, I didn't want to start a pissing contest with what I said. I just wanted to have an excuse to bump your thread without listening to your mix. I guess that sorta happened
