cheers! do you think its too loud? or just loud? i think you might be right, but i dont know if it works well that loud or if it is definately too loud..

what you think?

Posted by TOR on Jan-05-2006 18:52:

it's definitely too loud.. i had to turn down the volume when it first came in

Posted by Mike_Foyle on Jan-05-2006 19:03:

hehe ok. i think there is like one piercing frequency in the piano that needs to come down a bit as well, so ill turn that down a tad. thanks, some useful feedback!

More than loud sounds a bit high in the 3000 range imo, maybe also is the reverb on it .

I like it's progression. the background slow 'wow type thing is timed and spaced out very well. The mixing A ok

4 sure an interresting track to listen to... Would fit nicely into some kind of game.. Send it to Konami, ESPN, EA and all those game-developers Just a tip, cuz I think this track has what it takes.

Agreeing about the piano being a tad too loud. Also I'm missing a tad of crispness, high end. I dunno if that's just the air you could give while mastering. And some elements are a bit rough still, but base is very nice.

Nice Enigma-ish atmosphere, lovely ambient track, when it's finished, I'm sure.

Posted by djoxygen on Jan-06-2006 03:57:

Awesome vibe. The piano hurts my ears a little at high volume. Other than that very solid.

Posted by Mike_Foyle on Jan-06-2006 23:43:

thanks for the feedback guys, muchly appriciated! ill post a new sample soon, going back up to leicester tomoro so gotta move everything half way accross england AGAIN!

You sure love piano's mike. Percussion is awesome, dubby kick is perfect for the style and not to mention the bass... I like the dirty pads.

Lovely chilled breaked beats. Keep it coming mate.

like this, nice and chilled. feel that the piano volume is fine.

tom.

Piano doesnt sound broken it sounds great! I like it!

I'm a big fan of piano in EDM, particularly trance.

I don't think the piano is too loud. I do agree that there are a few notes that may be too 'piercing'. After all, the piano is the main melody.

It has a nice progression to it, but when it starts, my first reaction was, "oh wow, that note was out of tune", but as it went on, I realized it was a progression.

Looking forward to the finished version. =)

(I'm not listening with very good headphones, so the balance I hear may be off.)

other than that, the percs are fine, pads are great and so is the piano. the kick sample is just too dull and the patterns throw me off... it's like it's almost breakbeat but not. also, if i'm not mistaken, it sounds like the bassline is hitting on every hit of the kick drum, which i think takes away from the track as well.

If this track was straight breakbeats I think it would turn out very nicely.

just my opinions, good luck in finishing

Hi Mike.

Very special track. Sounds really good.
Nice atmosphere.
The percussions is really great!
The piano is a little to loud.
I love that synth coming in at 1:48, fits in great!
Nothing wrong with the kick & bass. They fit into the track.
Seeing forward to the final one. I love your work!

Mike, about your track "Sun Down", where can I find it?
Really love that track! Gives me the shivers
I would be very happy if you could send it or something.
Thanks.

//Alex
