"Anyone who knows me IRL..."

To you people who say you're different IRL than on the net:

It makes you look even less like a person worthy of respect and trust. How do you figure that is a valid excuse?

Basically all it shows is that you lack the integrity to be real with people and also shows poor character, both on the internet AND real life.

Why not be man or woman enough to admit that the behaviours you display on the internet are an honest part of who you are, rather than saying you're never "really" like that? You're not fooling anyone, those thoughts and feelings have to come from SOMEwhere. And if they REALLY aren't the person you are, then it makes you look EVEN MORE like you have issues with functioning in any society.

No one's buying it. At least not me.

Dunno

Cry about it?

Posted by Arbiter on Jan-20-2006 16:45:

The internet is just as "real" as the rest of life.

I would, but I'm all out of tissue.

The Moral Hazard persona has now fully destroyed "Craig". I am the same person here as I am everywhere else.

Posted by infinity HiGH on Jan-20-2006 16:47:

in all seriousness though, I agree with you. It also pisses me off how people say something completely stupid and tasteless; and then when people give them shit they fall back on the "you shouldn't take the internet so seriously" excuse. Why? Whats the difference between someone saying something on the net or in person, other than getting a kick in the head?

For someone as arrogantly smart as you, I'm surprised you missed my point.

You can use my boxers, but I'm not taking them off.

Posted by Slylee on Jan-20-2006 16:47:

not really. it just means that it's more difficult to get certain things that are meant to be humorous on the internet, and those people who know that person would automatically know how to interpret their jokes.

nice try though!

I understand and agree with that. But that's not what I'm talking about.

Posted by Ripped Bag on Jan-20-2006 16:51:

Just because I search for chinese star wars midget porn online doesn't mean I'd like to see it in real life.

no consequences on the internet..duhh. half the things you say on the internet you might not say in real life because of the repercussions.

and you dont really care what people think over the internet. but then that begs the question of which personality is your real one?

well thats why I said "other than a kick in the head" at the end of my post, because thats the only difference between saying something online and saying something face-to-face.

Yeah, yeah, I know. But to make it up to you, I'll do something I don't normally do.

"This thread is actually really good, and you make a good point."

Posted by StereoPrincess on Jan-20-2006 16:57:

Jen, I agree with you 100%.

Not only that, I attest that I know for a fact you are the same person online as you are "IRL". And that's fucking awesome.

We sort of figured out that potentially all of us could meet each other, the world is not that big. So why make up a person online? It's what retards do. Not only that but why put so much fucking effort into it? That's the joke.

we get it.

you made a joke that most people didn't get. and frankly, not understand why you would even attempt.

nice try tho.

Posted by Slylee on Jan-20-2006 17:01:

well then what do u mean?

i'm 50/50. i definitely think the internet is a way to vent or say things with no consequence (especially to a bunch of people you really don't see or deal with day to day, unless you're an FLTA...lol), but i also laugh to myself when i think about how a lot of people on this website are very "elitest" and rude and bully all the n00bs, but really, they are the most introverted socially retarded people you'd ever come across probably.

Let me ask you a question do you talk about anal sex and how you'd like to do your boyfriend when you get home to your boss?

What you choose to respect is up to you. I don't see the connection can be made with how much to trust someone. Excuse for what, acting differently in different situations? Oh, not admitting that the internet activities are a part of you. I see. You're not a very good writer.

Lack of integrity maybe, but again, I don't see how acting differently in different situations would be automatic bad character. I also don't see how not admitting that internets activities are a part of you would be bad character either.

It's true, i'm a monster.

Isn't that ever the truth. But it has nothing to do with whether I accept or deny my online activities as a part of myself.

my god u are getting tired. stfu already.

Posted by FallingMoon on Jan-20-2006 17:07:

I think people just have a lot more balls on the net when it comes to being blunt or saying shit you KNOW they wouldn't IRL.

Now I'm not saying everyone but you gotta admit that people act a lot more asshole like on the net.

They wouldn't come in your face & say half the shit they say on here.

Maybe only you Jenny but not everyone is like that

Posted by Arbiter on Jan-20-2006 17:10:

Well that was rather abruptly defensive, Radagast. Did I miss something here?
