Good tracks of 2005 that couldnt really make it to TOTY poll

The polls for the track of the year r on..n the first phase is over now...but as it happens every year ...there have been a few surprise omissions...possibly coz they werent played frequently on shows like asot ...or maybe they just werent good enuff....bt i wud hav luvd to see some of the following tracks in the poll..

Hammer & Bennet - Language(Santiago nino tech dub mix)
Factoria - Kissed by an angel(Arksun remix)
Hydroid - Drawn to Depth
Yahel Ft. A-Force - Behind Silence

well all ASOT tunes can't fit in there, can they? )

Posted by zoric on Jan-21-2006 11:40:

Tektonik - Shine is one great tune who never even got nominated.

I know they cant..but what I am trying to say is that..after looking at the nominations one gets the impression that the polls are just too influenced by ASOT!!!....correct me if I am wrong...

indeed they are influenced by ASOT but the irony is that the tracks you mentioned are also heavily played on ASOT

Posted by shades_of_gray on Jan-21-2006 13:45:

Marc Marberg - Guarana
The Freak Pres Exo - Above The Clouds (Mark Norman Remix)

Posted by SkooB_E on Jan-21-2006 16:20:

Vadom Zhukov/Vadik - Mission 7
Tilt - Twelve (Orkidea Remix)

i dont deny the fact that they were played on ASOT..i just said that they werent played as frequently as some of the other tracks present in the poll..or it cud be tht they came out in late 2005...but he hardly played tracks by Hydroid or Vadim Zhukov...Hydroid has come up with some real quality stuff of late..

Posted by Hydroid on Jan-23-2006 10:54:

well , he played 9 tracks of mine on ASOT this year hehe 2 we're future fav but....you see 1st of all its obvious that tracks of bigger names like Armin , A&B , G&D will be on the top....2nd ppl only remeber the new tunes cuz i saw mostly new stuff there..this TOP 20 was totally wrong but i guess it will be like that every year.

I am seriously at a loss as to why PVD's The Other Side did not even make it into the first round. That's absolutely fucked, cos that track is going to stand the test of time, it's haunting, it's memorable, (unlike that stupid Swing 2 Harmony- ever heard of a 'to'? And what a dumb vocal. The whole thing is entirely forgettable, yet people just keep on voting for it. Retarded)

Some of the good prog/trance mixes of these tracks should have made the list without a doubt, either cos they were massive, or cos they were so damn good-
Ernesto & Bastien- Dark Side of the Moon
Timo Maas- Pictures
Miss Kitten- Rippin Kitten (OK, so have just seen it seems to have a 2002 release date... was there another mix done of this early 2005? Why else did I hear it out so much at the start of last year?!)
H.O.T- House of Trance
Chab- Closer to Me
Planet Funk- Tears After the Rainbow (was this even released?)
Reflekt- Need to Feel Loved
Rachael Starr- Til There Was You
The Conjure- The Skeleton Key
MIKE- Massive Motion
Motorcycle- Tracking Treasure Down

All in all mostly crap for trance. House music came up with the goods on occasion and trance could work with those elements and 'trance it up', but not really much good stuff with a trance mix as the original. (Mind you, that house mix of Dark Side of the Moon is APPALLING!!)

And Love Theme Dusk is on the TOTY list, but damn it should be a clear leader (and hadn't even heard it til two weeks ago cos Mr AVB must not have caned it on his ASOT show) Absolute tragedy that track doesn't get more recognition. Gorgeous, one of those tracks that gives you that feeling that only good trance can... do yourselves a favour and discover it people!!

Because it didn't get enough votes.

Well, I think you'd be the only one who voted for that nonexistant track.

And take note that it was people on this site that voted for them. The reason why those tracks didn't get in is because they didn't get enough votes. It's really not too hard to understand.

Ooooh, my deepest, most humble apologies, I'm sure no one had any idea what I was talking about.

Let's fix that-
Gabriel & Dresden featuring Molly- Tracking Treasure Down (Gabriel & Dresden Club Mix)

Does that meet with your approval? Thank God for fellow TA's keeping us on the ball or we'd all seem like fucking retards to the outside world.

What I don't- and will never- understand, is why the most popular trance tracks of today have any fan base at all. I think people need the heads (and hearing) checked, and I do sometimes wonder how differently trance would evolve if ASOT and whatever A&B's show is got turned off. Familiarity does wonders for learning to love a track, and for whatever reason, I still think of TA as a site that moves well away from the AVB glorification. It aint necessarily so... and I still get stuck being recommended standard ASOT type tunes that I can't stand, especially when I'm certain there's better stuff out there. Unfortunately no one else does!

Matter of opinion, as is everything on this site. Now why is that so hard to understand Demoted??

Hey, if I can save just one mp3 from being mislabelled and prevent one person from becoming a larger idiot in this genre of music, I know my goal has been fulfilled.

i was a bit disappointed that Blank & Jones - Perfect Silence [E-Craig's 212 Vocal Remix] wasn't on there. that track still rocks my world. but i guess i'm the only one . oh well.

+edit+

oh , and Palma Solane - holy crap what a cool track that is

I don't count a digital release with only one version of the track whereas there's gonna be a vinyl release as a full release.

(P.S. It doesn't make the track any better )

Ralphie B & Sander Van Dien Pres. First State - First State

How this track did not make it is beyond me. Best tune of 2005 imo. Perhaps not known enough by the people who nominated?? I don't know..

Furthermore:

Ayu - Appears (Armin Van Buuren's Sunset Dub Mix)
Absolute - X-Factor
Pulser - Point of Impact (Mike Koglin Remix)
U2 - Where The Streets Have No Name (Nu NRG Remix)
Ralphie B - Sacred
Starsign - Taurus
Red Flag - Pacific Memory
Estuera Vs. Re:Locate - Palma Salone
Hammer & Bennett - Language (Santiago Nino Dub Tech Mix)
M.I.K.E. - Massive Motion
Jose Zamora & Damian DP Feat. Paleday - Transatlantic
DJ Shog - Running Water (Original Vocal Mix)

LSG - Netherworld 2005 (oliver prime remix)
This should have been there!!

Epos - Vivagio (Danjo & Styles Remix) really should have made the list.. one of my all time favourites.
Armin van Buuren - Sail is another HUGE tune.. but the actual release won't be till early this year.
