Re: seinfeld = win

I was watching the episode about Kramer's coma, Seinfeld's tennis purchase, Elaine's video rental encounter. All those situtions were packed into one episode. Kramer was watching a video of a woman in a coma and couldn't handle so he asks Elaine to legally cosign to be the person to pull the plug in case he becomes a vegetable. Kramer finishes watching the video and the lady wakes up from her coma so Kramer changes his mind. lol.

Seinfeld is ripped of by a tennis salesman who endorses and sells him a 200 dollar racket. Seinfeld is impressed and buys the racket. Turns out he and the salesman go to the same club and the guy sucks at tennis. Seinfeld's angry and hilarity ensues. hahahhahaha

Elaine falls in love with the director of a series of video rentals she obtained. The director calls her out of nowhere (don't ask) and she begs to see him. When Elaine finally does, the director is a 15 year old kid with acne. It's funnier than I explain it, but I had a geat laugh.

I've sat down and forced myself to try and find out why this show is so successful. Same with Friends and Everybody Loves Raymond. I can't enjoy it. Seems very silly. All I ever see is just people who change the volume of their voices and make wave their hands in the air and go into a seizure. I guess some people get it and I don't.

I feel bad for you that you can't appreciate the humor in Seinfeld.

No really I do.

Posted by kadomony on Jan-26-2006 05:52:

i recently enjoyed the one where:
-Putty steals Jerrys "move"
-Kramer makes a Fusilli Jerry (which subsequently gets stuck in Frank's bum when he and Kramer fight about stopping short)
-Kramer gets the ASSMAN plates.
-George does the counter-clockwise swirl

Friends and Seinfeld capitalize on observational humor. Think of something you do in your everyday life that makes you go loller's. This same scenario is played out on both those shows and the end result is something we all can relate to at some point in our lives. Personally I think Friends is funnier though.

I totally agree with you. Easily one of the best/funniest shows ever created. Of all time.

hahah i remember that one. that was funny.

i never watched it religiously, but i know enough episodes to be able to contribute to a seinfeld convo

NO SOUP FOR YOU!

oh man, we have this ridiculously friendly security guard in my office building. i mean, it's almost downright annoying. he says the same shit every day to EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO WALKS BY HIM. and he talks like Yogie the Bear. like, "eey ooh! how ya doin today ey? how about a picanic basket" it's like he's trying to sound italian, but i think he's cuban.

anyway, even if you walk by him and you're talking on your cell phone, he interrupts! he'll be like, "hey! yous a have a nice a day!" it's like, "shut the fuck up i'm on the phone!" i think it's kind of rude. it's like he demands that you stop and say hi to him and i feel like he is completely phony. it's like he tries to see who will say hi and who won't. i know he probably thinks i'm a bitch, but oh well. i say hi, but sometimes if i'm on the phone i just don't even acknowledge him because i feel like he's playing games and trying to make me feel like a bitch for not saying hi, despite the fact that i'm on the phone.

anyway, the point of that whole story was that i told my mom one night that it would be a perfect seinfeld episode. i can just picture elaine going berserk over that security guard and going out of her way to not walk past him so she doesn't have to be phony and say hi. and then jerry seinfeld would be like, "so whaaat? he's a nice security guard! maybe you should be nice to him" and elaine being like, "he's NOT nice! i don't WANT to say hi to him!" and then cramer would bust in the door like he always does and be like, "hey u guys know that security guard downstairs? wow. he's a NICE SECURITY GUARD"

i dunno maybe i'm nuts.
