Exclamation Meat Is The Champion Of Food!

Meat is the best of the 4 food groups (meat, earth-fruits/vegi, grain, dairy).

I completely concur. A meal doesn't seem to be a full meal without a healthy helping of meat!

Meat, in its broadest modern definition, is all animal tissue intended to be used as food. In this context, it not only refers to muscle tissue, but also includes fat or non-muscle organs, including lungs, livers, tongues, skin, brains, marrow, and kidneys. Animals that consume only meat are carnivores.

Within the human diet, meat has a more specific meaning. For the most part, it is the flesh, or soft tissue, of any animal, consisting especially of the skeletal muscle and fat covering the bones. However, the word meat is typically used in reference to the flesh of livestock (chickens, pigs, cows, etc.) raised and butchered for human consumption, often to the exclusion of seafood, poultry, game and insects, although this usage may be considered a semantic faux pas.

The meat packing industry handles the slaughtering, processing and distribution of meat for human consumption in most developed countries.

I was an apprentice butcher for 3 years (age 15 to 17).

We are (very good looking) kindred spirits, walking this earth, in search of the perfect roast.

That we are. And I think that is a Canada AAA prime rib. On a rotisserie above a charcoal grill.

100% agreement. We should do this up in the summer.

We should have a TOTA animal eating party. That, the king of all roasts, and we'll do a turducken as well. With the turkey in brine for 24 hours beforehand.

I'm going to die here thinking about this.

I really just want an excuse to grill. In fact, I did up some pork burgers with sauteed onions this evening, in this frigid crap outside. We've got a bigass Broil King natural gas grill hooked up to the gas line in our house, and a good ol' Weber Big Green Egg charcoal grill for the goods.

I really want a Weber Summit Platinum D6, natural gas. A friend of my parents has one, and it is the best built and most awesomely feature-filled grill I've ever seen. I vow to have one when I get my first house.

I'd like to disagree. I ~heart~ carbs (especially the empty ones), but they are oh-so-bad for you....
